  • Following thoughts on the slow movement of Beethoven's sonata in the previous video, this video discusses Mozart's expressive style in his last piano sonata. A work that is rendered for Licentiate examinations (of both ABRSM and Trinity College of Music), this slow movement reveals Mozart's lyrical operatic vocal style. By comparing both works, we can see how Beethoven and Mozart have treated their slow movements. Their creative ideas reveal their personalities, influences and inclinations. With thoughts to share, my approach puts together their compositional techniques and presents in each case, the composer's unique musical language.
