Anne hasn't changed her hairstyle in over 45 years. Fashion trends have never played a part in the live of the Royal family. I admire that!
That's not limited to the royal family. It's pretty common for people (men & women) to keep the hairstyle they wore as young adults. Anne's hairstyle was popular when she was a young woman.
The Queen has not change hair much either.

After all its her hair she can wear it anyway she wants. A people pleaser she isnt and good for her on that front. She is a strong confident woman like her mother, she likes what she likes and sticks to it. Women turn themselves inside out trying to please others.

He's married to Sophie Rhys Jones and they have 2 children. Edward and Sophie waited years before they got married. Therefore she was well acquainted with protocol. She gets on well with the other Royals.
Fun fact: the Queen actually should exit the church first, as nobody is meant to leave before the Queen. However at weddings the Queen allows the bridal couple to go first, so as not to take attention away from them on their special day.
She's done that at funerals, too. Example: at George VI's funeral, she normally (as the new Queen) would have preceded her mother. But she let The Queen Mother go ahead of her.
@Nettie Reynolds I doubt that. Sounds much more like Princess Margaret, than Anne. Besides, Diana and Margaret are both long dead. No reason they would even come up in everyday conversation.

It was a beautiful white simple dress fit for a "no fuss" princess ; the sleeves give it a "medieval " touch !!
She is not very pretty like her grandma, but she has classic style through all her life.
It’s wonderful that despite their divorce they are still friends. Mark Philips and his wife and second family live on Princess Anne’s estate. Anne’s second marriage is nearly 30 years old now. Sir Tim, her husband,gets on well with her two children and the grandchildren. Things don’t always go well but I think Princess Anne has successfully taken a bad situation and turned it round in a very positive way.

@@rrksk Actually, yes, it WOULD have been fun for Mark's second wife, Sandy, although she no longer lives there as they divorced back in 2012. Surely it is better for everyone if the ex wife and the new wife get along, rather than fighting, especially if there are children involved? I think it is admirable that everyone concerned made an effort to be pleasant and friendly.
I thought the Tudor style dress was gorgeous and hasn’t aged at all. Anne never looked more beautiful!

I was there! Camped outside all night around the fountain so as to get a front side view. What an experience with all the folk doing the same thing!!

My grandmother was a real royalist and she insisted the whole family watch the wedding but my dad would only have a black and white TV ("them colour tv's are shite and not worth the money") so she went out and bought one just for this.

This is the first time I've seen her wedding dress. I remember I heard on the news when I got home from school that she had gotten married, and I was like, oh, well, that's nice, I don't know who she is, but, that's nice. I was in junior high at the time. I agree with you. Her dress is really pretty! I really like it. I have to say, that even though its a 70's dress, it's WAY prettier than Megan Markle's Puritain frock. What surprised me was that she didn't have a veil over her face, like all the other royal brides have except for Prince Andrew's daughter who got married a few months ago. I thought that was tradition. Oh, well, doesn't matter. Lovely dress, lovely veil, lovely tiara, lovely bouquet and beautiful bride.

It’s been known that Prince Phillip have said that “Princess Ann is the son that I could’ve had”. He has a very soft spot for his own princess, her personality and wit matches her father’s. She’s one that is closest to Princess Alice of Battenburg. too, among the siblings.
I was in high school when she got married, and my high school drama teacher played this for us in class for a whole week in hourly increments.

My first royal wedding to watch. Thought her dress beautiful back then, still very unique. And it fitted her like a dream.

They didn't show it here but, I LOVED the particular version of the National Anthem they played at her wedding. It was the first time I had heard the trumpet arrangement done that way and it was really stunning to hear. Beautiful, Regal and soooooo Anne!

I was in fifth grade when Princess Anne & Capt. Mark Phillips got married. When I got home from school I was watching the news with my parents when I heard the royal wedding announcement.

This was in my feed after the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh---it was surprisingly moving to realize this was his one turn as the father of the bride and how proud he looked. Those two really seem cut from the same cloth. Obviously we don't have hereditary royalty here-not officially anyway--so I can't really assess that aspect, but what she does have, more than any of her brothers, is a real command presence, unique charisma that certain military officers have. She should really succeed her mother on the throne.
Yes Anne is sometimes described as "Prince Philip in a skirt" as she inherited his no-nonsense temperament and hard work ethic.
Princess Anne, was her Daddy’s little girl. In one video, Prince Phillip can be seen bowing his head as, Anne’s full name was read. So beautiful.

It appeared to be a gorgeous day weather wise. Everything bathed in sun light. Really made the day more regal and special.
It was a truly dazzling day and super groovy in a resplendent British way. Her Majesty the Queen looked absolutely fantastic and her blue coat and hat is particularly tasteful. She wears it with supreme style. The hat was truly elegant and high lighted the unique style of the period. If only we could travel back in time.

I can’t recall this wedding. However, I did attend her wedding.
This movietone film brings back some memories. At Victoria station in London there was a small cinema at the side entrance to the station. We used to bunk school and go in to central london where we lived with a 25 p red bus rover travel pass. We always went to the cinema too as they had a big film and also looney toons cartoons too. Grand day out back in the very early 70's . it stopped when we got picked up by a Captain Mainwaring type school inspector.... Bastard !! Thought the war was still on.
I can remember watching this from boarding school.

The very first Royal Wedding I remember - especially since our school assembly was ordered by the Headmaster to sing the National Anthem. Nobody knew the words and he was furious "What is this country coming to?". Indeed.

Actually in the modern wedding vows the word "obey" is omitted. I chose this version for my wedding. However I can only suppose that Princess Anne had to choose the old version for tradition's sake. Even that did not prevent them from divorce many years later.
