@@FtanmoOfEtheirys This! Ive thought often that it would be a good place to add these summons. And if not even that ive thought at the very least they added the whole egiglamour command. Just let summoners pick which 3 egis they want summoned change the attack animations if you can and call it a day (though i would still much prefer the first method)
I was super into Phoenix having the other three elemental Primals. Even if they didn't do anything different statistically (one fast one, one medium one, one slow one) having the illusion of eight total summons would have felt better than a bigger Bahamut. I don't hate Solar but he wasn't what I wanted either
So is posting complaints here instead of on the official XIV threads where the devs can see them. Yes, this would be nice. But the devs aren't going to see your opinion HERE. (If you have already, then just ignore this post)
@@BlaineKodos while you would've been okay with it. i wouldn't have. if they're not making them different then it's pointless to add them and i'm sure other people think alike, why add Shiva, Ramuh and Leviathan if they're just re-skinned Ifrit, Titan and Garuda
That part of the video made me ''Huh'' more than the whole Bahamuth bit. Like yeah if the MCH soulstone its empty and this job its unique to the WOL, every machinist gadget, robots and weapons are created either BY you or FOR for you. As is the whole *backflipping* thing. We are super extra!
Considering the WoL can hit the cracks in a suit of armor with a blowgun from fifty yalms, I personally think they started doing backflips just to add some challenge lol. And maybe to be harder to hit by the enemy. I mean, it's harder to hit a moving target.
Solar Bahamut has 14 swords, seven on each wing, representing the fourteen shards. His regular attacks (umbral impulse, etc) are light-aspected which we know corresponds with umbral ether. And to top it all off, his big attack is Exodus, the ability Hydaelyn used to split the world into 14
@@itsmefirefox It's a Hydaelyn-inspired Primal. It's more like the version of Ramuh we summoned on the First where it ended up getting Ixion elements, or Leviathan getting mixed with Thalaos and Perykos.
@@itsmefirefox It probably was originally just hydaelyn, but having summoners running around in low level areas with a hydaelyn egi was probably considered to lore breaking, so they had to reskin the egi and couldn't think of anything other than 'shiny bahamut'. And they may have even wanted to add a Zodiark egi as well, it would make sense for them to be a pair
I remember the dragoon story where you're training a dragoon and, when you learn battle litany, it's canonized as the trainee going something like "what? doing this just made you think of a new ability?" *quest completion music*
Also notice that most of the job quests end at level 70, and even the new jobs that start at 70 and 80 only get about 10 levels worth of job quests before your WoL is once again improvising and coming up with new abilities and techniques on their own. I would still like to see at least "capstone" job quests though, like we got at 80. Would be nice to have at 90 and 100 just catching up with everyone, help out with a new mission or something.
@@8BitCerberus Arguably it cannot be ruled out that the abilities unlocked after 70 were still created by previous holders of the stones (when applicable, so MCH and BLU are out) and the new experiences in the expansion activated the memory.
@@elecrom_9757 True, that is a possibility. And in that case it's also possible that the stone(s) was/were **always** ours, and hold the memories of our past selves.
@@elecrom_9757 Personally, I'd like to point out Ninja's Bunshin, too. Per the SB job quests, the original Bunshin-no-jutsu is an illusion ability that was possible thanks to a fourth mudra that we don't know AND NEVER LEARN, but in ShB, we suddenly have "Bunshin," which creates a shadow clone that deals damage and doesn't require ANY mudras. Considering that most Doman Ninjas were utterly unaware of Bunshin and the Kagekakushi know the fourth mudra, pretty damn sure that our Bunshin is original to the WoL.
@@pentagonofpeople i personally think that is the case. honoring hershy and venah both at once.by using the magic signature of venah and the swords as wings while boosting the dragon power
@@Lyn685 The Allagans did have plan to use Bahamut in Dalamud as a solar battery. He did show unique affinity with fire aether and the sun is a good source of it.
If this video has taught me anything, it's that: 1) Solar Bahamut is a focused amalgamation of WoL's journey up to Dawntrail. 2) Machinist proves that WoL is so FLIPPING EXTRA!
WoL being rather extra kinda makes sense when...you remember WHO the WoL used to be before...And that someone apparently was very much into many hijinks...
@@warkiller Who I was in my past life, and my continued association with Hildibrand. So many things slotted into place when I realized that I'm just catgirl Goku.
I would have loved it if there was a recerence to the song in its sound design. Like if when you cast Umbral Pulse it made the notes for "Witness" and Solar responded with the note for "Feel" when attacking after.
I like your explanation and it makes sense. Alternatively, I also like the idea of the WoL meditating and their minds wander to 'you know what would be neat? If Bahamut was blue like mom and had swords for wings.'
my headcanon is still its honoring haurshefaunt with the wing swords. mentioning the 14 shards at the same time and using mom energy to redeeem the dragon father son all at once XD (tho didnt say the last part in the last comment)
There's also the fact that it is known that Midgardsormr and Hydaelyn had an accord, so there is some thematic link between the two, and therefore the First Brood, just to get in the WoL's headspace since some of their ideas have been pretty wacky before, Eden raids as an example. It might be that Solar Bahamut is, perhaps, an attempt to 'redeem' or do justice by Bahamut, pulling from the original's title of 'Dawnwyrm', which got corrupted to 'Dreadwyrm' and has parallels with the term used in-game, 'Lightwyrm'. It might be that WoL just thinks of Hydaelyn as the go-to idea of Light now, thus the theming. Alternatively, the WoL noticed they had the 'code' for Hydaelyn, but felt weird about just summoning a clone of her due to knowing her personally, and so warped the shape the code took by shunting it onto the Dawnwyrm.
While I agree with the point, a big reminder is that despite the brain damage memes, Eden primals were intentionally modified by the slumbering Mitron. Thats why Shivadelyn is cartoonishly evil - Mitron is an ascian.
To add to the theory of taking inspiration from past encounters for Dawntrail: Samurai's "Tendo Setsugekka" does seem very similar to a certain Garlean Prince. Bard's new jumping shot feels similar to a certain "Wanderer" And i'll be honest, when i saw Disesteem on Drk, i thought of Zodiark. Of course i may be grasping at air, but it's atleast something to think about. Edit: Also Red Mage's new finisher "Prefulgence" Feels similar to Venat's Finisher
No, you’re onto something. The idea of the WoL creating their own moves goes as far back as Dragoon’s lvl 62 quest, when they create the part-wide critical hit rate buff by watching another dragoon fight. There’s also a subtle moment for White Mages in Shadowbringers, where their earth 3 attack changes into Glare at 72, which for most played would have been after the lvl 71 dungeon…
@@undvined In German Disesteem has also the Name "Antiheld" (Antihero) and the Buff for it is called "Lied des Antihelden" (Song of the Antihero) and Golbez was a Antihero in some way
Great evidence, especially at the end! really felt like everything that you talked about in the video came together all neatly at the end to prove your point - and that's tough to do, so great execution!
If you collect the Apocryphal Bahamut, by having all of the extreme trial mounts from EW, the explanation is given to you straight up: yes you can form pretty much any Bahamut you like, even one holding a chair. The NPC and PC selectively chose to focus on primal Bahamut’s desire to be free to summon a version of him that only embodies hopes and dreams. If you as any job that can summon a dragon holding a chair, I can buy that you as summoner can summon a dragon with sword for wings. The sword wings also looks the same as the swords falling from Dalamud.
The swords that form Solar Bahamut's wings also seem to add to the Hydaelyn connection. If you count them, each "wing" is made up of 7 swords, totaling 14, the same amount of shards Hydaelyn sundered Etheirys into in order to sunder Zodiark. Plus, on a bit more of a stretch, while she does use Chakram and a staff, Hydaelyn's go-to weapon seems to be a good old sword, both as Hydaelyn and as her original self of Venat. There's also Exodus being used by both, so...
Look they cant just let summoners summon Hydaelyn in dawntrail the amount of people confused and spoiled would be insane. This is the work around for that imo. What I would like to see next is instead of just repeating ifrit, garuda, and titan between big summons we alternate based on what is the next big one. have like Shiva, Leviathan, and Ravana or w/e leading to pheonix or solar bahamut. then another 3 or even 2 leading to pheonix. Maybe theme them together leading to the big summon so it makes sense. Titan Garuda and Ifrit are tied to Bahamut, then tie another 3 to Pheonix and another batch to Solar Bamahut. Thats what people want imo. Least I think it would be cool.
@@valenten89 I feel from a lore perspective, that is best achieved by making the Gem Primals (which are technically what you summon and which replace your Egis at that point, of course) technically their own thing, a WoL invention that is like Trance and bypasses the Egi Limit.
I understand why they wouldn't want to add job quests on the scale of what they keep adding for new jobs, it's a lot of work. But they could at least add a really short sidequest that gives some lore like they did for Fantasias.
@@AlphaXXI Hell, I wouldn't mind capstone quests that allow you to check in on the NPCs associated with each job and get their thoughts on your actions and developments and stuff.
@@AlphaXXI Or just do what Shadowbringers did and give a job a single job quest at max level, minimizing the total workload of quest design, still allowing role quests to do their thing, and still letting us actually explore classes and their lore. A level 100 quest explaining Solar Bahamut would have gone a long way. Alas, not everything can be as good as ShB.
I get the desire to avoid having to implement five mechanically-diverse quests for more than a dozen jobs every expansion, but would a story/lore/exposition-heavy interaction with your former job trainers really be too much? Programming a quest where you just talk to a bunch of NPCs can't be _that_ much more work. Just one cutscene where they bob heads at each other.
From a Doylist perspective, I strongly suspect they wanted to make a Demi-Hydaelyn, but were afraid of it being too much of a spoiler. Also can't help but notice similarities to the concept of the Stranger in Paradise version of Bahamut (who also had blades floating behind him in lieu of wings, and was made of a silvery metal). As for both why and how the Warrior would make such a merger of Hydaelyn's essence and Bahamut's form, I think that it's in the limitations of the Trance. IIRC the reason why we got Phoenix is due to how those two essences were intermingled - essentially, Demi-Phoenix really is just Demi-Bahamut, but altered slightly by invoking a different aspect of the mingled aether (possibly due to our time in the First and the exposure to the Light somehow drawing out the Phoenix aspect). Since we haven't gone through the process (in game at least...) of repeating the ritual for any other primals, it's possible that the only way the WoL can improve their Demi is by developing another alteration - in this case, by merging a new essence onto the Bahamut template.
One thing to point out with Phoenix in ShB is that the WoL was effectively resurrecting the first, like how Phoenix had the same result on the source. They definitely had a reason in leaving Phoenix as the lvl 80 skill after the EW rework
With the mention of MCH creating there own style, the 80 Optional Quest just straight up tells you that the Warrior of Light made Automaton Queen themselves
Nice Video. I also noticed that Solar Bahamut has 14 swords, which might represent the Convocation of Fourteen. So Solar Bahamut might also be the memory of the conflict between Hydalean and the Ascians and quite literally fulfills our promise to Emet Selch: "remember us". And just by how random solar bahamut actually is, I would place my bets on the next expansion being Meracydia with Summoner being the first caster poster job
Kind of makes me think of how awesome summoner could be if they werent so intent on keeping the job simple. Imagine cycling through bahamut/solar, ifri/titan/garuda, phoenix/perhaps some zodiark inspired phoenix, then ramuh/leviathan/shiva. Also give summoners dots again.
No. That thought will breathe Phoinix back into existence, and...far too many players have horrible memories of P3S. Love the idea, hate the ramifications. :D
Makes me think how it appears the Endwalker Paladin spells that summon swords appear to come out of nowhere since other in-game Paladins among the Sultansworn don't seem to use them, but they don't come out of nowhere. You see Venat using them.
And Elidibus as the warrior of light too. Which was most likely influenced by the Seat of azem, not the person Thusly wol as Paladin is using the will and strength associated with their original self to fight.
I love this idea because it lends itself so well to the established lore in very subtle ways. First, the "solar" part of the name makes perfect sense, not only as a counterpart to "Lunar Bahamut" but as the sun was the symbol of the Seat of Azem. The Warrior of Light is the current bearer of (the majority) of Azem's soul, and even Emet-Selch, Elidibus, and the shade of Hythlodeus mention recognizing your soul as Azem in Shadowbringers, before you even find out who you are. Additionally, the blue glow coming from Hydaelyn makes perfect sense as well. Not only because of how the Warrior of Light fought her, but because of how Hydaelyn relates to Azem. Hydaelyn was summoned by Venat, the previous occupant of the Seat of Azem. The wings being formed of fourteen blades, likely each representing the fourteen shards (possibly with the main body representing the source). There's the fact that Astral Impulse is changed to Umbral Impulse, and we know light (Hydaelyn's element) is umbrally aligned, thanks to Shadowbringers. And finally, Solar Bahamut's ultimate finisher is "Exodus", is the same name of Hydaelyn's big finisher move. Thank you for this video, and encouraging me to look into it a bit more. Before watching this, I was a bit indifferent to the idea of Solar Bahamut. But when put into the context of it being related to Hydaelyn, it makes far too much sense when you look into it. There's far TOO many tiny details that match up for it to not be.
This kinda adds on to something I heard someone say. That as of Shadowbringers, we basically learned everything that the soul crystals could teach us and everything beyond that is a new technique that we've developed through our mastery of the skills and magics available to us. It sortof explains why we no longer have job quests from a lore perspective. There's no longer anyone who can teach us anything. We've mastered our jobs and now all that remains is honing our abilities and creating new ones that will be etched onto our jobs stones. It's kinda interesting to think about how the jobs stones of the Warrior of Light will likely become powerful relics after we're gone and only the strongest of people will be able to wield the skills etched upon them.
@@daizelp I assume you mean job quests, since role quests still exist. I doubt it. Each expansion introduces 2 new jobs, which would mean the work load required to make a questline for each job would get larger and larger as time goes on. That's a lot of work that only a small portion of players will see all of, since most people only play/level a few jobs. They could do small little quests for each job after finishing the job quest like they did in Shadowbringers, but even that could eventually get out of hand.
I appreciate your bringing up that the WoL's behavior when playing Machinist is completely their doing. It's been my theory since the job quests stopped being the source for abilities and spells that the WoL had reached a point surpassing any of their mentors and indeed what the soul stones had recorded, resulting in the WoL essentially having to 'improvise' skills and spells that would then be etched onto the stones. As for why Solar Bahamut was the result of this behavior, I think Occam's Razor would point to sheer familiarity. Not only did they encounter the primal Bahamut during the Battle at Carteneau Flats, but in their last outing to the ruins of Dalamud, as well as the strength of those tempered by it (Twintania, Nael, etc.), making Bahamut probably the second most familiar primal to the WoL after Hydaelyn.
One thing that I think you forgot to mention was the dreadwyrm trance phase of summoner. There was a lot of care into pointing out that the first three summons were, for all intents and purposes, as close as possible to a "tamed" primal. They had the exact same signature, and we were able to provide enough ether to sustain it for it's attack. Bahamut, on the other hand, was too grand, so we had to learn that there are other uses for a primal's ether: weaving it into other things, or in this specific case, ourselves. Endwalker also taught us about the intricacies of primal's, why they act the way they do, and how it's based off of creation magicks, changes and taught by ascians. I believe that solar bahamut is us taking our knowledge of summoner summoning, weaving ether into trances, and the idea of creation magicks in order to not just create an imitation of a primal, but use what ever combination of ethers to make new summons. It's practically exactly what you said, but I feel the detail of our character already knowing how to weave primal ether into something other than a practically identical copy is a pretty important detail.
i mean mom did give us the power to weave the fabric of reality tho lasted just a bit. tho i think our wol could have used that time to study how to weave eather in a similair fashon tho invinitely less than the ancients. add summoner power. yeah i can see how we could do it
Considering that it's pretty typical for a Final Fantasy game to have multiple Bahamut versions (Bahamut, Neo-Bahamut, Bahamut Zero, etc.) it seems perfectly normal that SMN ends up with a pokedex full of Bahamuts.
I just did the mch quest where you get the first heated shot flip upgrade and they actually said it was developed by the other elf machinist during the fight with the dragons on the bridge like moments before its given to you. So at least the first flip was shown to you. You just really liked the ideal and improved on it from there.
I sat there for 16 minutes going "it's Hydaelyn." There is the color, the floor effect and the sword wings. I just assumed the summon was impacted by the WoL meeting Hydaelyn.
Scholar fairies are distinct beings. Creatures akin to the Pixies of the First whose souls have come to reside in the soul crystal, and to whom we merely grant Aether to fashion themselves a corporeal form.
Your videos started showing up in my feed. Subbed. Enjoying it. Also....as a summoner main, I actually like Solar Bahamut's look and spell sfx effects.
I always understood that past a certain point there was no longer any knowledge to be gained from most Soul Crystals, so the Warrior of Light gets to "unlock" job actions by coming up with them on their own(and imprinting that in the Crystals). Of course, it's not truly this clear cut and the WoL may learn things from soul crystals late into their growth or boost their beginnings by creating moves that weren't in them. After all, if you remember the HW DRG job quests, your WoL actually invents the lvl 52 skill as the NPC Heustienne will ask them about, which they do comfirm that they did, or Esteem mentioning the "trick" the WoL had made in the lvl80 DRK quest, it's pretty clear that the skills you unlock aren't always learned but invented by the WoL, and that especially applies for jobs that were evolved from classes(Dragoon and Monk job quest explicitly talk about how the WoL's style of fighting is different from the normal practitioners of the same discipline as them). What I mean by this is that the Warrior of LIght coming up with new moves unheard of isn't really news to me, but I would *_INFINITELY_* prefer that you have a way to properly introduce them to the player so that it makes sense to everyone -and to also make the rotation of SMN less boring even if still easy pls pls pls-. Sure getting a new summon is nice, but it doesn't really make me WOW that much specifically _because_ it's not explained what it actually means to have it and what it represents, since to most people, it's just a blue skin of Bahamut. I'm guessing next expansion we'll get Lunar Phoenix with Zodiark's aetherial signature from what this video hints at, but it's not really gonna matter how cool as a concept it is if we don't get anything that gives context as to what it symbolizes.
Hello , I have a Theory about the Summoner that runnning wild into my mind for a long time ago . Before Endwalker; we learn that primals are made with a twisted version of the Creation magic that the Ancient use to create concept (hello Ifrita o/) , this twisted version one give a strong Ego to the Summon which lead to his need to subjugate other. Around Endwalker, The moonbunnies teach to the beastmen how to summon a docile primal. Right After this course the summoner unlock the ability to summon a new version of there Egi, ( i will call them the crystal primal ) but what is important to notice is that this crystal primal looks like the Primal we know, but they are a just weaker. From this point in think that the summoner learn the way of the Ancient to create concept / primal, but to be sure to understand the WoL try with some concept they already know. Solar Bahamut is the first true attempt to create a new primal from scratch, the WoL take inspiration of 2 important part of is life to create this new entity : the 7th calamity, and the End of the era of the Ancient. My point is : i think that the summoner WoL is currently able to create primal from is one tought, without the risk af the primal to run amok, because they learn the ancient way of summoning from the moon bunnies. Maybe if we follow this past in the future we will be able to see some Umbral or Astral align primal for every Summons wer have or the birth of new primal .
A small correction, the moon bunnies didn't teach the tribes to summon, they used their creation magic to create the primals while allowing the beast tribes to give shape to them. That being said, they were still primals, albeit "purified", and no doubt everyone inside the Ragnarok were exposed, indirectly, to the aetheric energies of the purified primals. So our power went from being taken involuntarily from primals, to being bathed in the aether primals that were aligned with our purpose in entirety. It's like we went from using 30% of their power to using 100% of their power. Meanwhile I like to believe that Solar Bahamut is just straight up a primal of our own creation, still using an egi/carbuncle as a base, but because we've been exposed to the purified aether of primals, we can do the process using our own aether and without the tempering effects of the Ascian-created magic.
Based on the Eden primals, my idea would have been to combine the primals we already have into a fusion. Like combining Ifrit, Titan and Garuda into a temporary super summon. Without the faith, the act of making a primal is like creation magic: super exacting. You can’t let your mind stray. We learned this in Amaurot. And in Eden, the end result of the Eden primals wildly differed from our recollection.
Summoning something by using aether IS creation magic in essence. You are creating something out of aether rather than it being teleported from one place to another using aether. Zodiark and Hydaelyn are prime examples of this in action. Despite them being lauded as gods, they did not already exist within the vastness of creation when they were summoned. And the unsundered taught this summoning to beast tribes, which was then studied and refined by Allag and weaponized as the Summoner Spell School. The "faith" spoken of is the conduit for which the summoning takes a form. It has nothing to do with the creation of the summon but it gives it an identifiable form (a body). An example of aether in a bodiless form are the common elemental sprites we see in the world (the furbles are an example of wind aether in an identifiable physical form)
@@jrtime228 Not the point of me mentioning creation magic. It’s to point out how wildly the end results vary from your intention without the exact conceptual design or the faith to supplement the lack of said concept. As a separate point, summoning vs true creation magic has a visible divide despite one being derivative of the other. Not relevant to the original point, so I’m not going to go further into it.
interesting points, also the solar bahamut's body kinda looks like a mammol ja so perhaps this new adventure's experiences also helped shape a bit of what a summon looks like.
I would say that an interesting idea would be that Solar Bahamut is the culmination of the WoL's learning about Summoning in general (As a Summoner and of learning about the Creation technique of the Ancients). Using the knowledge from the SMN Soul Crystal, the knowledge and techniques they themselves developed starting in Shadowbringers. And the knowledge of the truth behind creation magics and the "fixed" summoning technique used by the Tribes at EW's climax, the WoL used all of that to use creation magic to create a "Demi Primal" I use quotations there as, while it is in the shape of a demi-primal and has Hydealyn's ether signature woven into it. Solar Bahamut could very well be a Concept rather than a Demi-Primal (the WoL dispelling Solar Bahamut at the end of his duration to prevent him from supping up too much ether from the environment/themselves) To simplify, my thought is Solar Bahamut isn't a Demi-Primal. He's a concept akin to those made with Ancient-Creation Magic, fashioned in the form of Bahamut using Hydealyn's Ether-signature
Thank you for making playing Level 100 Summoner more exciting with this Theory. I would guess that with Venat having been a former Azem, those similarities in personality traits might be another reason why the WoL could shape something related to her
I think that's a reasonable take. We already know summoners enter trance to invoke power of primals too powerful to create an egi of (this is what we do with Bahamut back in Heavensward). With the WoL's greater power from an 8th rejoining, it could be they can manifest a primal, in this case, Bahamut, but they're entering a Hydaelyn Trance while doing so. Swords were a part of her motif.
I like Solar Bahamut as a concept, but why can’t we have both Solar Bahamut and all six standard elements for egis/demi summons? Picto is the first job to actually implement all six of the standard elements and personally I feel like they should lean in more on these classical elements stuff.
Picto is also based on the imagination and aetheric paintings that serve an intended function, not complicated formulas to make aether take on the form of something semi-autonomous that can use aether as well. And the concept for a XIV summoner was already well established before the concept of lunar and solar primals was. Retconning that would take a lot of changes to ARR which would also result in changes needing to be made to further expansions (all for one class). That does not sound like a feasible thing to do in terms of time and resources that can be allocated to keeping the game going. It would be VERY nice to have more summons. And id be all for having a summon or two from stormblood. But realistically speaking, I see more downsides for the devs than upsides for us. Don't forget, this is a GAME, and it has its limitations.
@@jrtime228 To clarify what I mean, I share the desire of many for Summoner to have Shiva Ramuh & Leviathan added to their repertoire of Egis. Doing so would complete the set of six major elements available to Summoner.
Picto is also the first time Water magic has been an actual thing. We get no closer than Fluid Aura and Aquaveil, one of which has been deleted and neither actually offensive abilities. Likewise, Picto finally added Comet, in a way, to the WoL's spellbook .... Yet still, no Quake. At this point I wonder if they view Quake as too triggering to a Japanese audience due to the prevalence of tragedies from earthquakes irl, or some nature of it exclusive to enemies akin to Rogue turning to Ninja and not Thief (and of course, no Necromancer job)
@Nazuiko if you mean playable. Though I'm assuming it existed in 1.0 because Y'shtola had water magic and even used it back in Heavensward on, and used it officially in battle from shadowbringers on. She has Water IV as an aoe spell she uses occasionally similarly to how urianger casts death, Ryne uses the deleted ninja skill, ect. They should've let us have the water magic as whm is a parallel to blm but whm Is now a light magic user and blm still used fire, ice and lightning. Kinda want them to make blm a proper dark mage now by making it like "dark fire IV or something lol
@0:00 Solar Bahamut is just Hydaelyn. But they can't just GIVE players Hydaelyn... at least to avoid spoilers. *Even Larrysaur realized this* it's glaringly obvious.
@maallos334mi8 - Solar Bahamut's ability name is Exodus. This is the same name as the ability Hydaelyn casts during the trial where you need to destroy all 6 crystals to avoid a wipe. It even uses the same animation.
@@maallos334mi8 You know that other players can use summons out in the field, right? Imagine doing hunts, and a giant pretty woman appears and you can see its nametag is "Demi Hydaelyn". If I had a nickel for every time a creator made me appreciate MCH while talking about Dawntrail SMN, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice in the same week!
I like this! It makes perfect sense to me, that our summons would evolve based on our experience and thoughts on a the being we are attempting to create. That at some point you aren't limited to simply copying. Eventually you learn how to modify, and make something your own.
It's funny you mention Solar's magic circles but not Exodus. Literally Exodus. It's an olive branch towards Divine Light Trance, no question. There's some thoughts I wanna throw in haphazardly about SMN in general. And I hope I'm not misremembering stuff here. - At the end of 6.0, I was completely convinced the next trance would be Eternal Darkness Trance, as all conditions for it have been met resoundingly. The Source is still actively being showered with His Darkness, as... the FSH questline in Sharlayan mentions, of all things. Less so for Hydaelyn, but we can say using the Mothercrystal sufficed to spread Her aether. - Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure a Demi is summoned by infusing any Egi with the drawn-in aether of a trance, for a short period of time. I don't have an encyclopedia to check that, nor do we have supplementary quests for Demi summons. We can blatantly ignore spoiler reasons and just say Hydaelyn and Zodiark are too powerful to summon Demis of and/or no Egi could withstand being infused with their aether. - The conditions for a trance differ from that for binding an Egi. For a trance, you "only" need to draw from a primal's residual aether. You don't have to fight the primal, hence why Urianger can use Firebird Trance. For an Egi, the SMN has to have participated in its slaying, then go to a place that matches the primal's aether, summon it and subdue the Egi in combat. That needs to happen for all Egis, no ifs or buts. - Any given SMN is limited by their aether in how many Egis can be bound. For the WoL, that limit happens to be three. A longstanding misconception is that people think everyone is limited to three Egis. Trances were conceived to go around this aetheric limit and still harness primal power(s). - Based on Enkindle II, we can surmise the WoL decided to further enhance/refine Ifrit-, Titan- and Garuda-Egi, instead of binding another one. Alternatively, the WoL is still not capable of binding a 4th and that's the next best thing. - I understand people want Sapphire Leviathan, Diamond Shiva and Amethyst Ramuh. But as I mentioned before, this isn't so easily done for lore reasons and you can spit venom and grating insults at me as much as you want. It doesn't change. HOWEVER, there is a super simple and even better workaround for this debacle - Egi glamour. All we need is one more quest, either from the Arcanist Guild Master or Y'mithra, to glamour the refined Enkindle II summons to literally anything else. That way, we could go further than just the ARR primals. The writers wouldn't have to be burdened with rewriting, the quest people wouldn't have to work on solo instance quests and... well the artists and devs will have to supply icons, vfx, sfx and animations, but that's the least problematic thing.
Perhaps I'm overlooking and/or misunderstanding something both here and from the Eden raids-given my lack off knowledge in the aetheric arts-but would it be possible for an experienced summoner to place their egis under a trance? (e.g. having Titan Egi undergo a Leviathan Trance to trigger a mudslide for the purpose of drawing-in a group of enemies, or infusing Ramuh's lightning into Ifrit's Crimson Strike to create a superheated bolt of plasma)
So, what you are saying is that after the WoL came into contact with Eden, we stole its ability to make primals. and thus created our own very first original work.
Yeah. Imo it’s most likely Primal Bahamut is what he looked like ages ago while the EE art is him around the time of his death. Similar to Midgardsomr minion, mount and corpse being very different in design.
Great vid, especially the beginning bit lmao. After playing as SMN at max level, it made me think that the devs missed an opportunity to bring in new egis by implementing alternate egis in the transition phases between Solar Bahamut, Regular Bahamut and Phoenix. It could have been for ex. Solar Bahamut -> Egi1, Egi2, Egi3; Reg Bahamut -> Titan, Ifrit, Garuda; Phoenix -> Leviathan, Shiva, Ramuh. Each new egi could still act similarly as the 3 egis we already have, just with different graphics to give uniqueness to that egi, like Garuda's range being the template for Ramuh dealing lightning strikes and leaving a levin field dot. Anything could've been possible, like introducing egis for Ravana, Bismark or even the Triple Triad. If these egis would come in out of nowhere by the devs, they would eventually obtain reason of being from the playerbase that enjoy it.
insanely cool video! and i love how even the implication that the WoL is their own person could be a reflection of things explained through the story like being a shard, joining with other people's aether etc however now i'm headcanonning that my character's summons have his face comically plastered on them
I enjoy this theory, and it makes a great deal of sense. As for creative influence, we may just come up with playing with tricks we have or developing new ones.
I like this especially for WoLs who have not been there for Dalamud’s fall, so mine’s just going off what she saw at the coils and bringing in a little individual flair.
Really love this explanation and as a summoner main, it all makes complete sense to me. Yes I would have loved to get new summons like a lot of us thought we would get, but I see Bahamut and I'm a happy girl. You know, like warrior mains are happy when they get to do another Fell Cleve. I think it was also influenced by our encounter with Tiamat. We learnt her grief and regret for calling forth the primal form of her beloved companion. In creating Solar Bahamut there might be a way for us to honour the noble dragon he was. Just like Hydaelin loved her people and the star, Bahamut loved his kin and was protecting them until the last. We get Lunar Bahamut on lvl100... and we all know what we are fighting for there in the MSQ.
That whole thing about primals being shaped by the summoner's thoughts & feelings & such is how I came up with my personal theory about why the Eden primals summoned by the WoL were so different from their original forms: My pet theory is that, due to merging with Ardbert & becoming that much closer to their original Ancient self, the WoL was starting to subconsciously reconnect with some of Azem's original power, which resulted in them accidentally putting a bit to much pizazz on their summonings, as it were. One thing in-game that actually somewhat supports this theory is that the two Eden primals created after the player receives Azem's memory stone are much more true to their original forms, suggesting that the player has better control over Azem's powers as a result of the events of the 5.3 MSQ. This also ties into your own theories as to the origins of Solar Bahamut, especially with the knowledge gained about the Ancients & the events of Endwalker, which, IMO would result in even further mastery of their inherited Ancient powers (as evidenced by the increasing ease with which they wield Azem's power to summon allies to their side for certain battles).
So a fun fact to go with this: We've had the "Primal code" for Hydaelyn since we got The Echo, thus a summoner could still technically form Solar Bahamut before her trial (which is mechanically also possible)
That's not how it works. You need to see the primals aether after it dies in order to summon it. The only reason we were able to summon bahamut was because his aether scattered all over eorzea.
15:23 Yessssss.....YESSSSSSS I'd even accept a new entity entirely based on Hydaelyn I can't even imagine waiting for something new after 10 years. I started after SHB came out and even I'm frustrated but thank you for the lore dump.
Oooooh, the idea of summoners using the Hydaelyns 'code' to create something new by combining it with a previous spell is so cool and also really emphasises the strength of WOL at this time of their journey. I had assumed it was the light exposure via hydaelyn that was involved, and as a bard player that was only reinforced with Radient Encore, which definitely also had Hydaelyn vibes. I am not sure if other classes have some light or hydaelyn flavoured touches, but it makes co plete aense to me considering how bog of an influence she is. I love when the story effects the attacks, or the attacks tell a story, like how during Shadowbringers, white mages spells immediately leaned more light based with glare and dia because of the available aether around them. It's super cool 😁
Honestly I really like this new approach of just dropping wild new skills like Solar Bahamut on us and leaving us to figure out what is going on. While I don't mind getting detailed explanations for why we have the abilities we do through job quests and such, the process of going through them is quite tedious, and it also limits how ridiculous and cool the powers we get can be, as they have to come up with a watertight explanation for every little thing that someone might ask about. This way, however, they can just do whatever they want, which opens up the possibilities significantly.
I absolutely love this perspective. A grievance I've had with summoner is how we don't have access to the last 3 elements (water, ice, lightning) and should be able to summon the primal energies of those 3 elements considering where we are now with our strength and discipline. Our storage of Aether has even bolstered substantially because of Ardbert as well, so thematically it would've made sense to have us summon the primals like Levi, Shiva, and Ramuh However, i love the idea that Solar Bahamut is that of our own willpower. This one being a testament to our own capability. Gameplay wise I personally wanted something a bit more involved than essentially being Bahamut with a heal, but thematically i think Solar is perfect (esp also Solar = Sun, sun emits light, we're the Warrior of Light, BOOM)
The Warrior of Light canonically has one hell of a wild imagination. 15:22 - I'm surprised you didn't mention the Eden raids, where the WoL's imagination makes the craziest versions of familiar primals. The Eden raids are basically foreshadowing the WoL SMN getting randomly inspired after the events of EW to start making their own thing, with... questionable results, lol. From a gameplay perspective though, I really wish it wasn't just another Bahamut because visually it's so goddamn boring to have another one.
That makes sense and what I had thought was the case when I saw those targeting symbols in the job action trailer. I had always thought that after you did all the job specific quests, everything you learn/gain is new. It's all you going beyond the memories of the job stone to start making new ones for others to obtain someday. Anything not tied to a quest or mention anywhere is all created by the WoL for one reason or another, like the flipping around thing with Machinists you mentioned. Or with Reaper's level 100 skill of Perfectio comes from our trip into the Void in Post-EW that sparked us wanting to perfect better the link between us and our void buddy now that we know how the 13th actually works.
I feel so much more special being the WoL having seen this. I had not thought about the interactions the WoL would have in that way. I love the theories for summoning and WoL creative input; it should open so many doors for the devs to take creative liberties in the future. Now we need egi glamour Hydaelyn ♥
Thanks for digging, and I m quite convinced. In other hand, I also believe the solar baha take shapes from the most fierce being in our fighting at our level, in second trial, and make contrast to us each other. Who he walked a twisted path, lost everything he desired, to the answer of an empty force. By forgiveness and resolution, we confront him as the true possibility he might have.
15:27 bet the next expantion Pictomancer spells will be self inspired by the WoL. most (if not all) of what they paint now comes from the Soulstone and what Kupopo tells you to paint
I agree, it would be awesome. Thematically, though, I feel like "Eclipse Phoenix" would be a better title, since the Phoenix is already thematically associated with the sun, and diving into a darker interpretation would be like "eclipsing" that theme.
After hearing the hydaelan theory before I came around to liking Solar Bahamut a lot more, and I think your explanation for how it exists is a good one. Whoever inherits the WoL Mch crystal is going to be in for a wild ride....
i honestly really like sollar bahamut. hes easier to see around in battles, he has alot more inspiration put into his design, and to me at least, it makes sense the WoL would augmenting his current summons rather than adding more. summoning these primals have become so easy to the WoL by the time you reach dawntrail that its likely he/she decided to augment a summon as a way to challenge themselves. the job stone most likely revealed a way to change a summon based on later experiences and the WoL used that knowledge to change up their most powerful summon, bahamut, and used an equally powerful primal to use as inspiration, hydalen. since each summon is indeed destroyed upon no longer being needed, the level 100 rotation with solar bahamut switching to regular bahamut to solar again to pheonix is just the WoL testing out which versions is better.
So for me, before this video, I kinda just saw Solar Bahamut as a combined Summon of both Bahamut and Phoenix. It has the same attacks as regular Baha but now also heals like Phoenix, except as a burst heal rather than a over time one. I also noticed the Hydalen summoning symbol when it gets summoned but while I did think of her I also thought of seat of Azem, as Hyd was once Azem I figured that the successor would get the same symbol too but I figure that's quite a stretch. But with this video I can see it also being a sort of manifestation of Hydalen in Bahamut's form, or at least as close as the WoL could get. As for other summons I also wanted them but was perfectly happy with Solar Bahamut, something that is specific for the WoL that we made rather than just small versions of other summons that already exist. However I do hope that they do add them later. Like imagine that they have another extra lot to add now cuz of this if the first rotation is normal, Bahamut into Ifrit, Garuda and Titan but then it goes Phoenix into Ramuh, Leviathan and Shiva and then Solar Bahamut into Odin, Ravanah and Knights of the round (for the sword motif, or just Bismarch). Basically getting new summons in the order you face them in the game. Granted this would be a lot of work to do, asking for 3 more was already expecting a lot so 6 would be a big ask.
To add onto the mention of the Primals we summoned on The First, Solar Bahamut isn't too different from the Ramuh we summoned being merged with Ixion, or the Leviathan we summoned being merged with Thalaos and Perykos, just we created a Demi-Primal inspired by two different Primals. Not to mention the other example: Shinryu, which was directly inspired from Bahamut and Ilberd's trauma from the Calamity (and possibly from Midgardsormr himself). Also, from more of a series standpoint (not lore), Bahamut having lots of alternate forms is a bit of a Final Fantasy staple and it's also probably a little reference to Final Fantasy XVI's Bahamut being light-aspected. Also thank you for mentioning the lore book image since we've never truly seen the real Bahamut in-game. Real Bahamut would also have looked more like the other Great Wyrms (as in much longer and more slender) whereas the Primal version doesn't really resemble the other Great Wyrms much.
My canon on creating new job abilities is post job-related quests. The WoL has gone beyond the mastery of his teachers/peers at this point. So anything we learn later that doesn’t require us to talk to NPCs means we’ve effectively taught/inspired ourselves. Take SAM for example. We evolve the traits for our AoE rotation, we replace Hakaze(the starting action of all our combo rotations) with Gyofu surpassing the origin of our mentors attack actions. The enhanced traits just scream personal improvement and evolution for my WoL.
Personally, I hold no grudge against Solar Bahamut. Indeed, I never have. My issue is that we have been wanting Shiva, Ramuh, and Leviathan as summons since the job's inception in FFXIV, and they were originally planned, and for at least one of them the model has been in the game since ARR (you encounter it in Ramuh's fight). Even if it's only as a facsimile (and an imperfect one at that), I really want to be able to call on Ysayle's memory to once more give me aid.
I personally wish, if this is accurate, that they had leaned more into it being Mom (Hydalean) and given summoner a dark counterpart to it to represent Zodiark.
Adding on to that, its heavily implied that everything after lvl 70/the job quests is the WoL developing their own techniques/abilities. White Mage's offensive magics going from earth and wind to unaspected umbral magic being probably the most obvious example but also phoenix and the demi-primal evolutions of the egi summons are already well outside the scope of what the summoner job quests were.
The WoL, being from the source, has been "rejoined" with several shards of azem + one additional shard from the first making you very possibly the single most "complete" being outside of the unsundered ascians. Perhaps this means the WoL is beginning to gain access to the creation magics of the ancients, and that is how they were able to create solar bahamut? Solar bahamut is actually kinda cool now. Thanks for the explanation! On another note, this is a strong case for why it would be nice to see specific job quests again. Outside of the job itself and how/where you gain certain skills, they can add a lot of lore to the world and your own character.
Another piece to support the theory, there are 14 swords making up the wings. Could just be a coincidence, but given the sigil and aetherial resemblance, it seems pretty intentional to me.
Honestly looking at Hydaelyn's own wings up close, they do look rather like swords. And of course, Venat herself loved conjuring up weapons of all kinds.
this honestly refreshed my love for Summoner, between all the negativity surrounding Dawntrail and Summoner in particular getting a pretty bad rep, i was between jobs looking for another DPS because it was so overwhelming. But this vid just made me really like the class again with all its lore implications and flavor.
Another example of the WoL's creativity coming into class quests: pictomancer. You learn about the Moogle because of Relm. Everything after that is your own interpretation of what you can do with the power. Iterating on the basics to create something new, like the Madeen or the Starry Landscape.
I just wanted Ramu-Egi... T-T Job quests teased it so hard, dangled it right above my head. On a more serious note, Solar Bahamut is cool. Frankly any and all Bahamut is cool. But, we all can agree, Odin would've been cooler. Also, the main issue with Solar Bahamut is the near lack of mechanical differences in the rotation with regular Bahamut. SMN feels like it lacks depth since Endwalker, and the new changes do pretty much nothing to help with that. Meanwhile, here I am as Scholar main struggling to find space on my hotbar for the new buttons. T-T
Regarding the Heated shots and their moves, it is confirmed during the Stormblood quest chain (when those abilities were introduced) that the WoL has been making up their own techniques and is teaching it to the new generation of machinists including Joy and Hilda. It's true of -every- job ability you don't learn from a Crystal, and even a few that have that animation. Dragoon invented all its abilities since Heavensward for example. As for it being connected to Hydaelyn... yeah, obviously. Luxwave is just a rename for Lightwave and SB's ult is Exodus, which is Hydaelyn's ult. Guy's got Hydy moves.
Who knew voicing a sobbing dragon would be so much fun? "Twas a blast to be on board, even if only for a bit.

Not having a summoner version of Ramuh/Leviathan/Shiva is a crime against Final Fantasy.
it totally is and could be easily implemented by having ifrit, titan, and garuda action change to ramuh, levi, and shiva after summoning phoenix
"Who told you to start doing backflips with a ranged weapon?"
Huh, I feel kinda called out here.
"I'm making these moves the future stone users problem!" -Inner Azem
I still want to know the lore behind "Air Anchor." What is the science and reasoning behind that bizarre attack?
Solar Bahamut has 14 swords, seven on each wing, representing the fourteen shards. His regular attacks (umbral impulse, etc) are light-aspected which we know corresponds with umbral ether. And to top it all off, his big attack is Exodus, the ability Hydaelyn used to split the world into 14
So this is the hydalin primal?
@@itsmefirefox more or less yeah.
@@itsmefirefox It's like if the WoL used the aetheric signatures of both bahamut and Hydaelyn together

So Solar Bahamut is basically the song "Answers" in summon form. Fitting since the song is both associated with Bahamut and Hydaelyn.
I would have loved it if there was a recerence to the song in its sound design. Like if when you cast Umbral Pulse it made the notes for "Witness" and Solar responded with the note for "Feel" when attacking after.
I feel it's more specifically "Your Answer", the Scions battle with Hydaelyn.
"How did you make solar Bahamut"
"It came to me in a dream"
More like a Nightmare 😂
"The source is I made it the fuck up"
I like your explanation and it makes sense.
To add to the theory of taking inspiration from past encounters for Dawntrail:
Samurai's "Tendo Setsugekka" does seem very similar to a certain Garlean Prince.
Bard's new jumping shot feels similar to a certain "Wanderer"
And i'll be honest, when i saw Disesteem on Drk, i thought of Zodiark.
Disteem actually brings to mind durante and his fate

@@bradleydevron Don’t forget the brands imprisoning Zodiark. Those were swords as well, and by association, tied to Hydaelyn.

@@valenten89 I feel from a lore perspective, that is best achieved by making the Gem Primals (which are technically what you summon and which replace your Egis at that point, of course) technically their own thing, a WoL invention that is like Trance and bypasses the Egi Limit.
honestly solar bahamuth shows how not adding more job quest can be detrimental to job fantasy and identity

I like the way you think sir!
WOL: I know exactly who you are.
Solar Bahumat: Really? Who am I?
WOL: My new Pal.
Good job, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against SE now.
With the mention of MCH creating there own style, the 80 Optional Quest just straight up tells you that the Warrior of Light made Automaton Queen themselves
I don't have SMN 100 yet but as soon as I saw the incantation circle I knew it had something to do with Mother!
Keep up the great lore insights! 👍
I'd love it if Summoner severed all connections it had with WoW's Warlock for forever - so please no DoTs.
Makes me think how it appears the Endwalker Paladin spells that summon swords appear to come out of nowhere since other in-game Paladins among the Sultansworn don't seem to use them, but they don't come out of nowhere. You see Venat using them.
And post Endwalker, seeing Oschon using his arrows, Bard gets a very similar ability in Dawntrail...😊
And Elidibus as the warrior of light too. Which was most likely influenced by the Seat of azem, not the person
Thusly wol as Paladin is using the will and strength associated with their original self to fight.
Or. Hear me out. Role quest comes back in the future but as US teaching the job for future generations.
It's practically exactly what you said, but I feel the detail of our character already knowing how to weave primal ether into something other than a practically identical copy is a pretty important detail.
i mean mom did give us the power to weave the fabric of reality tho lasted just a bit. tho i think our wol could have used that time to study how to weave eather in a similair fashon tho invinitely less than the ancients. add summoner power. yeah i can see how we could do it
Crazy how no one points out Solar Bahamut's ultimate is Exodus, which is Hydaelyn's attack that sundered the world.
Considering that it's pretty typical for a Final Fantasy game to have multiple Bahamut versions (Bahamut, Neo-Bahamut, Bahamut Zero, etc.) it seems perfectly normal that SMN ends up with a pokedex full of Bahamuts.
"Good work, WAR, you learned more abilities. What will you do with your newfound--"

I like how wol suddenly decided to just henshin into fairy with scholar

The thought of passing the machinist discipline on new machinists and telling them that yes, the backflips are absolutely vital, is very funny to me.
The therapy joke with Bahamut is clever job. Nice work lol
Meanwhile I like to believe that Solar Bahamut is just straight up a primal of our own creation, still using an egi/carbuncle as a base, but because we've been exposed to the purified aether of primals, we can do the process using our own aether and without the tempering effects of the Ascian-created magic.
tbh I kind of wish summoner went in the direction picto has taken with the subtractive palette, with an astral summons rotation and an umbral one
So Ifrit, Garuda, Ramuh then Titan, Leviathan, Shiva?
Raktapaksa
Give us raktapaksa with a car as a 4th demi
That sounds like it should summon Ultimate Weapon. Which would be baller, I'm all for it.
interesting points, also the solar bahamut's body kinda looks like a mammol ja so perhaps this new adventure's experiences also helped shape a bit of what a summon looks like.
You know, that's also a great point, especially because of Gulool Ja Ja being the "Dawnservant"
They need to give us more variety of summons... one day maybe teehee :(
I would say that an interesting idea would be that Solar Bahamut is the culmination of the WoL's learning about Summoning in general (As a Summoner and of learning about the Creation technique of the Ancients).
Using the knowledge from the SMN Soul Crystal, the knowledge and techniques they themselves developed starting in Shadowbringers. And the knowledge of the truth behind creation magics and the "fixed" summoning technique used by the Tribes at EW's climax, the WoL used all of that to use creation magic to create a "Demi Primal"
I use quotations there as, while it is in the shape of a demi-primal and has Hydealyn's ether signature woven into it. Solar Bahamut could very well be a Concept rather than a Demi-Primal (the WoL dispelling Solar Bahamut at the end of his duration to prevent him from supping up too much ether from the environment/themselves)
To simplify, my thought is Solar Bahamut isn't a Demi-Primal. He's a concept akin to those made with Ancient-Creation Magic, fashioned in the form of Bahamut using Hydealyn's Ether-signature
My god I love this video. You are so much more than a scribe. You have added to the lore better than the publisher. Thank you my friend.
Thank you for making playing Level 100 Summoner more exciting with this Theory.
I would guess that with Venat having been a former Azem, those similarities in personality traits might be another reason why the WoL could shape something related to her
Still wish we could have just had a more direct version of Hydaelyn...
@@Nazuiko fun fact Fuild Aura used to do damage way back in the day. They removed that aspect at some point

Hey machinist is fuckin awesome we cant help it.
DT feels like a MCH Lore matters expansion.
Fake it til you make it
More like we’re copying Eden at a smaller scale
Eden facilitates creation magic as a factory. More like the WoL learned something in Elpis.
When I first saw Solar Bahamut, I thought it was supposed to be Azem's familiar
Damn, that youtube recommend works quick
Wouldn't Tiamaht's summoning be the closest to the original since she actually knew Bahamut inside and out?
I got real excited to see this in my sub feed. I WAS CURIOUS HOW YOU GOT THIS THING! Amazing video as always!
insanely cool video!
and i love how even the implication that the WoL is their own person could be a reflection of things explained through the story like being a shard, joining with other people's aether etc
however now i'm headcanonning that my character's summons have his face comically plastered on them
I earnestly wish Solar Bahamut just replaced normal bahamut. The current rotation imo feels bad.
Having your raid buff land consistently on the most powerful of your burst phases doesn't sound bad.
That was amazing ! As a SMN main I had some questions too. But I mostly guessed this as well.
Well this is my new head cannon.. so freaking cool, just wish there was a quick jobquest to go along with it
Thank you I tried to look into Solar Bahamut lore a few days ago and the search results were BARREN.
I absolutely love this perspective. A grievance I've had with summoner is how we don't have access to the last 3 elements (water, ice, lightning) and should be able to summon the primal energies of those 3 elements considering where we are now with our strength and discipline. Our storage of Aether has even bolstered substantially because of Ardbert as well, so thematically it would've made sense to have us summon the primals like Levi, Shiva, and Ramuh
However, i love the idea that Solar Bahamut is that of our own willpower.
The Eden raids explicitly mention that Eden is twisting the summons when being used as the focus for summoning.
This is such a cool idea and I love - and it makes me wonder if we're going to get an Abyssal Phoenix in the future, which would also be awesome
I agree, it would be awesome.
Thematically, though, I feel like "Eclipse Phoenix" would be a better title, since the Phoenix is already thematically associated with the sun, and diving into a darker interpretation would be like "eclipsing" that theme.
i like the juxtaposition of lunar bahamhut being born of twisted despair and solar bahamut being born of focused hope. I think you're spot on here.
Would be kinda cool if we got a different Phoenix due to Zodiark, or something else related to Zodiark.
"Did you heard story about a boy and dragon Gay?"
Beginning: lol sure man
Middle: ehhh maybe I guess
End: WTF ITS THE CRYSTAL THING???? I AM A TRUE BELIEVER!!
Lunar phoenix, probably coming in 8.0
Adding on to that, its heavily implied that everything after lvl 70/the job quests is the WoL developing their own techniques/abilities.
Job quests teased it so hard, dangled it right above my head.
Soooo in short..
CONGRATS SUMMOMERS ON YOUR NEW CHILD, Your own sweat and tears birthed by your own aether.
