I used to feed my cats with Royal Canin and the last 3 years i had to stop because they started to develop allergies. They are putting something very bad at the food of our pets . I went from high protein to no grain foods , to hypoallergenic food but all for nothing. I don’t know what to do anymore, it is extremely frustrating.

Is it possible for dogs to have swollen lymph nodes and not be lymphoma? If so can you discuss possible reasons and protocols to drain and nourish them?

In my own personal struggles with IBS, I do better without any carbohydrates at all. My digestive is now great and I do not eat any carbohydrates. So for me, carbs are not essential to support a healthy gut. Some people with Chrohns have actually gone into remission by eliminating carbs completely. However, I think every person and every dog is different so what works for one may not work for another.

We moved to a raw food brand and started having problems. My one year old dog was just finishing with Purina Pro Plan sensitive stomach and skin kibble. I learned through trial and error, as well as many visits to the vet that were not helpful, that the 'bland diet' that they kept prescribing was something she was sensitive to and caused this little mini doxie to gain weight, continuing with her tummy troubles.
With what I learned from Dr Katie, we moved to butternut squash, a 1/2 portion of the puppy kibble we started with, cooked white fish and a small amount of Kefir. No more diarrhea, no more gas and stools look great. She is beyond excited when the meal is being prepared. I also supplement with Thorne Gut Health chews and Slippery Elm Bark. I do wonder if there are deficiencies in her diet and how I can learn how to provide a 'complete' diet for her.

I have been a cat owner for many years and it is always the same issue. Every time I change their food to another, no matter how slowly I transition, they get diarrhea! I only feed them quality wet can food and kibble, only as a topper. I have a question, Katie, are "All Life Stages" formulas safe in their ingredients content percentages when considering kittens, adult, and senior cats ages? Or should we change their food from kitten, to adult and then senior food formulas? I heard high phosphorus diet levels in adult cat foods can cause problems but not for kittens.

My cat has been on 5 mg prednisolone for over 2 yrs for IBS and I am concerned about the long term side effects. How can I safely taper and finally get him off this med and help resolve the IBD?

Hi, my cat has been the same medicine since last September, after his red spot healing the vet reduced the dosis and in October I’m feeding him with Royal Canine Hidrolyzed protein, my cat has well recovery but he miss a lot wet food. I tried rabbit pate from kohl’s but after two week he has again reaction.

@magdalenasolisvaladez7614 glad to hear that your cat is doing well on the hydrolyzed protein. Sounds like he is allergic to the rabbit paté. Oftentimes they will have a skin reaction to foods that they are allergic to..

My yorkie has been on probiotic visbiome for several months , and it seems to work along with diet change, I truly believe antibiotics and other medication destroyed her gut when she was hospitalized for IBD , she does a lot of licking on her lips ,I know is acid reflux. Will be giving supplements that you recommend here on UA-cam I appreciate you. Thank you so much for your knowledge and care.

Even the gently cooked foods have too much carbohydrates in my opinion.

Not Raised Right. It usually has less than 2% depending on the recipe

@sun82w I make my own dog food.

@sun82w That is unusual. There are likely exceptions. However, many of the gently cooked foods have more carbs than I care to feed my dogs, along with synthetic vitamins and minerals and what I feel is inappropriate forms of calcium.
