I'm preparing food for my aunt who is undergoing chemotherapy. Her appetite is really low. Food presentation I noticed kinda stimulate her appetite. Like I will make something interesting and pretty each meal time. I am making my own recipes using her high-caloric milk supplement during breakfast. Colorful plantbased food also stimulates her appetite. It is true that the flavours has to stimulate all her taste buds for her to keep on eating. So I am getting creative as I can to make her something pretty and tasty each time so she is looking forward for every meal I make. It is great that I also have passion in cooking :)
Thank you. I will be meeting (on the phone) with a nutritionist this week. I was told my oncologist to not lose anymore weight. (lost 40 pounds since January.) But it is hard. I will use what you said as well s my nutritionist to help me eat better. About three days after chemo my appetite goes down and food does not sound good. It will stay low for for about 4 or 5 days. @@nicolepuspita6929 papaya leaf tea. 4-6oz 3x a day morning, mid day and night. ginger and tumeric shots with a pinch of black pepper. and green juice of kale, cucumber, celery, cilantro or parsley, green apple (granny smith), 1-2 lemons, ginger, turmeric and cayenne or 1/4-/1/2 habanero pepper . u can substitute kale with dandelion greens if available and u can add in half a cup of pineapple. this will be spicy but start out with a very small amount of pepper and gradually add more as much as u can stand. maybe 16 oz a day (two 8oz glasses twice a day) also drink lots of water. eat more salads and fruits and less red meat/pork, chicken. plenty of sunshine and fresh air when you can. don't eat late at night so your body can rest and heal. I'm starting this with my mother as we just learned this week she has cysts/tumors on her pancreas and I don't want the doctors to do surgery to cut away part of pancreas and spleen. also the surgery will end up costing close to 18-20 thousand US dollars!

I don't know if you will get a chance to reply, my mom has terminal cancer and the chemo treatments cause her to feel very cold, to the point where touching cold food feels like frost bite. Same here. I was told no raw fruits or veggies. Stay on a low residue diet. Pasta, white rice, potatoes, white bread, etc. All things that contribute to diabetes.
I often wonder if the unusual diet I've followed for 15 years might alleviate cancer. It's about 92% fluid dairy products--cream, half-and-half, whole milk, 2% milk, 1% milk, and skim milk. I think the nutrients from these products are more broken up when they reach the cells than those from solid food, and thus clog the cells less, so better function.
dairy products are not healthy. if you want broken up nutrients go plant based juices, smoothies. The amount of fat in your blood stream will go down and prevent heart attacks, strokes, et.
be sure to get the okay from the doctor because it could affect the chemo. (don't quote me but i read something, alas my mind is sieve so maybe I didn't :-) Maryjane is legal here so far have not had to use it. I may if i feel i really need to.

I'm preparing food for my aunt who is undergoing chemotherapy. Her appetite is really low. Food presentation I noticed kinda stimulate her appetite. Like I will make something interesting and pretty each meal time. I am making my own recipes using her high-caloric milk supplement during breakfast. Colorful plantbased food also stimulates her appetite. It is true that the flavours has to stimulate all her taste buds for her to keep on eating. So I am getting creative as I can to make her something pretty and tasty each time so she is looking forward for every meal I make. It is great that I also have passion in cooking :)

Thank you. I will be meeting (on the phone) with a nutritionist this week. I was told my oncologist to not lose anymore weight. (lost 40 pounds since January.) But it is hard. I will use what you said as well s my nutritionist to help me eat better. About three days after chemo my appetite goes down and food does not sound good. It will stay low for for about 4 or 5 days. and green juice of kale, cucumber, celery, cilantro or parsley, green apple (granny smith), 1-2 lemons, ginger, turmeric and cayenne or 1/4-/1/2 habanero pepper . u can substitute kale with dandelion greens if available and u can add in half a cup of pineapple. this will be spicy but start out with a very small amount of pepper and gradually add more as much as u can stand. maybe 16 oz a day (two 8oz glasses twice a day) also drink lots of water. eat more salads and fruits and less red meat/pork, chicken. plenty of sunshine and fresh air when you can. don't eat late at night so your body can rest and heal. I'm starting this with my mother as we just learned this week she has cysts/tumors on her pancreas and I don't want the doctors to do surgery to cut away part of pancreas and spleen. also the surgery will end up costing close to 18-20 thousand US dollars!

I don't know if you will get a chance to reply, my mom has terminal cancer and the chemo treatments cause her to feel very cold, to the point where touching cold food feels like frost bite. Unfortunately she also has difficulty eating foods that are on the other end of the spectrum as well (any thing hot). Understandably this is very frustrating when it comings to nutrician. I often wonder if the unusual diet I've followed for 15 years might alleviate cancer. It's about 92% fluid dairy products--cream, half-and-half, whole milk, 2% milk, 1% milk, and skim milk. I think the nutrients from these products are more broken up when they reach the cells than those from solid food, and thus clog the cells less, so better function.
dairy products are not healthy. if you want broken up nutrients go plant based juices, smoothies. The amount of fat in your blood stream will go down and prevent heart attacks, strokes, et.
