    Mark, hate to say it but it looked like there was a pretty good exhaust leak on your exhaust clamp where the resonator delete meets the cat-back. Although could just be condensation leaking out.

    Great video! What if, instead of driving the car before topping up the fluid, you just ran the Haldex pump via the VCDS tool? That would serve the same purpose, no?

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  2 роки тому +3

      Well, I suppose. But the drive way more to build heat, not circulate pump passages.

    • @DandyNun
      @DandyNun 2 роки тому +2

      If you have the temp, then you can just switch on the ignition and you will hear the pump prime. IIRC- No need to start it. You can then get in ~100ml more fluid👍🏻 The full bottle gives you just enough to rinse anything left in the drain, then fill, prime and top-up. Good to do the pump learn after you service it too, often doesn’t get done.

    Glad to hear someone else’s pump made a lot of noise spinning up. It’s a bit unsettling if you don’t know that is how it’s going to sound. Thought I’d broken mine 😂

      bro, i appreciate your honesty. when i heard mine, i thought it was destroyed. and this morning, the car is running INSANE...

    • @DandyNun
      @DandyNun 2 роки тому

      @@LastHumansGarage Yeah. Mine sounded like it was spinning with no fluid in it. IIRC- when I asked the guys I got the service items from, they said the pump is spinning up to find the correct pressure. I guess that’s easier to achieve with clean fluid and filter. So maybe it overshoots on the first go, as that’s what the car learned prior to the service. Sure makes a difference getting all that gunk out of the filter and setting everything up fresh though 🚀

    That color difference is off the scale bro, am really surprised that the oil got this dirty in barely 10,000 miles. Good call to have serviced it this early. I should have done it much earlier too on my VAQ, which is not that different from the Haldex, just different lay-out. Anyway, we learn every week. The ultimate test is now to do another LC and video it with your Go-pro in a parking lot or something. Just 1 LC would suffice, maybe video it on a higher frame-rate, so that you can make a nice slow-mo out of it. I am sure it would get a ton of views :-)

    Nice video. Worth opening up to clean the screen which is the main reason for pump failure. Standard stealership service doesn't include this job. Don't know if you noticed a black soot trail behind the exhaust clamp. Maybe a leak? Had a look again, what is that black stuff? Ha u noticed it!

    I really think you are going overkill, the car seemed to me like it was working normally. Not to be rude but I think you just need to learn how the car operates more than just chocking it up to failing parts. Hey you might end up having an issue and at that point you could say it was worth it however the car hardly has any miles on it. Turn off traction control and just do some more launches. Your car was faster than Jordans we witnessed it however you just gottta get better at launching is all it is in my opinion.
