I love these video's! My 4 year old grandson lives with me and this year we noticed mushrooms popping up everywhere. To conquer my fear of wild mushrooms or toadstools as my mom called them, I bought the David Aurora book, and have been taking my grandson with me on our mushrooms treks. So far we are just identifying, not eating any ( yet). Your video series so far has been fun and informative and I love the way you cook them up at the end! Thank you. Looking forward to more video's
I love the blanch your fish first idea. My solution to soft fish such as the greenling and perch is similar. I lightly fry the fillets then crumble them into homemade french onion soup. The bold soup flavor and mild fish pair well and you get your protein in your soup. Keep up this good work
This was awesome, once again. I have a cookbook, and in part of it, it explains how to gather certain species of wild mushrooms. Regardless, it's still best to go with an expert, to be safe. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Last year will be in backup in Seattle for the first time in years, I stumbled across the porcini. Wasn't sure what it was so I left them behind. Later show the picture to someone and sure enough should have picked them. All I was looking for was chanterella all I could find was a small handful enough for one meal.😢
So the “poisonous” is only IF consume? If is touch or cut with the same knife that will be used for the one to cook is that ok? I am totally new to the mushrooms world.
I do clean my blade thoroughly if I cut a poisonous mushroom, but yes, all mushrooms are safe to hold and examine regardless of toxicity. I would not recommend crushing a poisonous mushroom and licking your hands though lol
I remember finding a poisonous one, I just cut it up and turned blue. I lady it alone because I don’t know anything about mushrooms. The only mushrooms I know is Matsutake, chanterelles , chicken and lobster mushrooms
that drone looks almost exactly like my old Ruko drone. the biggest differences i see is the USB C charging instead of the Micro USB charging that mine has. i bet it doesn't take 12+ hours to charge 1 battery when it's with USB C lol

Crazy how a mushroom can look so different. Porcini at our elevation are short fat and stumpy.
Phenotypic plasticity is pretty incredible!

Wise! When in doubt, throw it out!
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 yeah I’m scared of mushrooms that are poisonous lol

Lol nope, not that long of a charge!
the bob ross of shrooms
Lol just gotta work on my hair!
What month did you harvest these in?
December, but their can be a great flush in November if we get good rains early in autumn.
Doc Kev, can I order a Ducelle stuff Quail. 🤤
Lol, to be honest I had never heard of Duxelle until you commented but now I am definitely going to incorporate this into a vid! Thanks!
How much of these hide in poison oak?
Not nearly as many as the chanterelles are in it under oaks. The PO doesn't seem to like pines so much in my experience.
