Same here, my wife is 30 years younger than me and we have been married for a long while now, but before we married, I told her she had to have a college degree before I would marry her. Reason being when I am gone, she needs to be a strong independent woman. Not only did she graduate, but now she's a collage teacher here in Dinalupihan Bataan. she still works and enjoys it and I stay home and take care of everything...
Salamat for another good topic and sharing your story…long time subscriber…got married last year in the PI and finally retired… we have a similar age gap with three young outstanding kids im adopting …our plan is to spend 6 months there and the USA… so the kids and my asawa can have lots of options … and I can keep my Medicare and have a house in both countries
My brother's Filipino friend retired this year at the age of 60 but his Filipino wife, who is 3 years younger will keep on working. He spent 6 months in the Philippines this year while she works in the US but joined him in Pinas for 10 days. They plan on doing this schedule until she decides to retire. I find this to be an interesting arrangement. He rents airbnbs, no plan in buying a property. My American hubby plans to retire in January then move to the Philippines with me and our dogs. It takes a lot of faith to make this big move. But we're trusting Jesus to lead and guide us. Praying for a successful move for you guys. We also have a shi tzu/havanese dog who is moving with us. I hope that you do an episode on how and the cost of transporting a small dog to the Philippines like Chanel. Thanks in advance! Take care and God bless!😊🙏
I had a friend where we have a house and he was in his 70's while she was in her 20's. I just learned that he passed away so now she's a widow and the 10 year old daughter is left without a father. I know that life isn't fair, and I don't know if he left her anything or if she has to figure out how to take care of her daughter by herself. He was British and he had knee surgery about 5 years ago so he couldn't do much other than stay at the house so she never really got to do much but sometimes things like that people don't put much thought into. Hopefully nothing like that will happen to anyone on here or any other place. Things like that are just the sad reality of life.
How about putting some of that guilt trip and sadness at the feet of woman that divorce and drive out the father from their kids lives ,, that is FAR more brutal and damaging to kids
Let me also clarify some relationships. There is yours where you’ve taken on a family and she may have a mature mind where things can meld together. She has a job and isn’t sitting around eating chocolate covered cherries on the couch looking cute for some old man. You don’t look old enough to retire. May have saved or inherited a bundle of money which is a good thing. You’ve become a family unlike many. I only watch two or three others because they seem normal. Texas Filipino, My PI Dream and Building The Philippines with Greg and Wilma. Becoming Filipino is another decent channel. There subject matter is normal in my opinion. There’s those like you that marry for family and move there after years, I get it. I live in California and it stinks from expenses to societal issues. Been wanting out for years. Never considered out of the country but now I do. Anyway. Then there’s others that move there for other reasons as well as they just can’t make it here due to slothfulness. If you can’t make it in the states you can’t make it anywhere. My wife is five years younger and we’ve been married 22 years now. She was 30 and I was 35 when we met. I’m currently 60. Met here in California where I was born and raised. She in PI, moved to Canada then traveling medical jobs in the states. The rest is history and still being made. Anyway, again, there’s marriage for good reasons and marriage for others. Think yours is on the side of good for all three of you and will be just fine. We have a daughter who is 20, very responsible and on a career path in law enforcement having two uncles that were law enforcement both on the federal level. Guess she doesn’t like medical or not be a lineman as I was. I have a daughter from a previous marriage and four grand kids. That daughter not as responsible. But as you are I think of their futures constantly and how to make it as comfortable as possible for them so they have no worries. We’re doing just fine and they will too when we’re gone but it’s still something you think about even when the ducks are all in a row. The only real fix is Jesus calling it done and time to separate the sheep from the goats and making sure they’re sheep and not goats.
@@Parabola007 Some have ambition, some don’t. What’s her education level? How old are you and how old is she? That could prove my point and reaffirm my previous comment. What’s your quality of life and could you have retired with the same comfort in the states? Or is that why you moved to PI? Do I expect the truth from someone who uses terms such as “chillax culture”? No.
@myrrhavm definitely retired at 54. 7 figures. No issues. Quality of life here is good. She has degree. Not working anymore; not worth the legal slave wages.
Scott I couldn't agree more, it's the responsible adult preparing for that day, when we are not around, and the measure of "Man" that we provide, protect, and leave a legacy.
Im sure you guys are excited .specially your wife and son. and good luck all of you .and be safe to travel.and I hope you continue your UA-cam in the Philippines. So anyway thanks again for the video as always .Good night.
my wife is 22 years my younger, 63-41. Been together 6.5 years...married for 3.5 all good. Mature. When I was 44 back in the USA I had a 4 year relationship with a 22 year old...disaster... high 30's low 40's a big difference . No issues so far. who knows.
We have 18yrs gap. When my spouse retires, i also retires. That should not be a brainer if you are on the same page and spend time. But i am the youngest one to retire compare to my family.
The large age gap relationships 25 to 40 years generally end in divorce back in the USA, a lot of age gap relationships seem to last in the Philippines , because young wife's back in the USA will dump an old dinasaur for a fit young guy
It's a good thing that you think about your wife's and son's future, so many foreigners don't think about their wife and kids future in the Philippines. My Filipina wife is only 10 years younger than I am(67). We have been married going on 16 years now and she has lived, worked for 11 years in the USA before we retired to the Philippines 4 years ago. She is a dual citizen, has qualified for my SS, has her name on two of my pensions and we own our house in the Philippines free and clear. When I pass, she should be set up with an income and some options if she would want to go back to the states.
In the USA, age gap marriages are not accepted. They do accept men identifying as women and women identifying as men, gay marriages, but the age gap is a no, no... I know, because; been there and done that with the age gap relationship. So if you live in suburbia, and she is far younger, expect the local women to educate her in American ways.
Nice video....as a older gentleman myself...just trying to understand..why would you ..kinda go .. backwards......progress and looking forward....guess it's a different way of thinking....most are trying to leave..given the opportunity.
Theyre trying to leave so that they can work and support their family. I understand that the US is a great place to be for work but the Philippines is a great retirement destination IMO.
Quick question I’m a new subscriber I love your content Im 39 i turn 40 in December my Filipina girlfriend is 23 do any of you guys in the comment section think that’s a large age gap?
Our age gap is 20 years so its not large in my opinion. People have all different views about it, but its really only about how the two of you feel. Take care and good luck!
Your a good guy...l am much older 😂....just saying...your thinking retired....your family..have a entire life ...they are not in that mode....just you.....offering experience and a little wisdom.....health issues will come ..l wish you and family well. 👌
“After you are gone” are you planning on leaving soon? I am 62. If my ancestors are any indicator I have another 30 years of good health. I enjoy my work. We are likely at or approaching longevity escape velocity. If you live ten more years you may live as long as you like… Sure, live insurance is a good idea but understand death may be optional.
Older foreigners should not get married a younger women when they want to live a comfortable life. Establishing a new family is too stressful and a lot of problems may come up financially.
I retired at 47 married my filopina wife at 50 i did six month there 6 here it took 4 yrs to get a live birth for her then covid came then i got sick and in hospice now, you never know how life turns iut now we are strugelingling to get her here i never built there justcrented but got suv motor and all there, i wish i could of moved there but i did not i love boating in Seattle . I wish i would of acted sooner but hit me like a train. Elma is young and can work here she will get a small life and pension and ss when she is 60, most gals re marry dont worry to much it works out i justcwanted to travel and retire she wants to work ir have business.

Good to hear that you encouraged your wife to have higher education. ..

One reason to marry within your age, couple or few years up or down. So interests, desires, expectations and lifestyle are on par with each other.
