@@waterfiltergurucan you do a test for the water sold at Whole Foods at their water machine?
The company is called “fresh pure” and their machine has three options. Distilled, deionized and Alkakine with minerals. I’m really curious as to how much minerals the alkaline one actually has and if there’s any toxins or heavy metals in it. It’s extremely popular that machine and would answer a lot of questions because the company doesn’t specify or show labs reports

@@therealityofthings9574 have you seen the lab test results by this lady named lead safe mama? She has posted some crazy results for top tier brands we all pay for and are loaded with heavy metals. One of the test that really shocked me is the prenatal vitamins which had a tremendous amount of heavy metals found in them. She also did a lab test on the Trace Mineral Co and it was the chewy gummies, and the test result was bad. I would really be interested in the one shown in the video for a lab testing of heavy metals. I purchased this brand a year plus ago before finding out about lead safe mama.

Answering only as a guy on the internet who has just finished reading all 154 pages of "Drinking Water Minerals and Mineral Balance" (2015)...
"animals given Zn or Mg dosed in their drinking water got significantly higher concentrations of these elements in their blood serum, than animals given the same elements and in much higher doses in food when provided with drinking water with low levels of minerals"
Human population studies seem to show that people who drink hard water (higher mineral content) have fewer premature deaths due to coronary heart diseases than people who drink softer water (lower mineral content). The authors speculate this may be because soft ware becomes acidic due to absorption of CO2 from the air, forming carbonic acid which corrodes pipes and leads to more copper and lead in drinking water.
Keep in mind that nearly all of the beneficial minerals have a narrow range between deficiency because you're not getting enough and "oops, too much, now it's toxic."
I added a remineralization cartridge to my just-installed under-sink RO filter primarily due to taste of drinking water and coffee made from that water. Zero mineral water tastes terrible.

Careful with the Redmond, it’s high in Lead. I still use it because it does have lots of minerals but I don’t use as much these days. Jacobsen and Diamond tested much lower and below the threshold of concern.

@@YourLifeRedefined You are wise to take the issue of lead seriously. Sounds like you are pretty well informed also, in mentioning those 2 alternative brands. Of those two (2), from what I've read, I would choose Jacobsen. I've learned a great deal about lead found in salt (via independent laboratory tests) through both 'Lead Safe Mama' website (by Tamara Rubin) and Mamavation website (which is not as detailed). Especially the former, despite the sing-song title. It sounds gimmicky & annoying, but it's actually not. Don't be dissuaded by first (initial) impressions.
When it comes to something which is consumed regularly, or Every Day, ... you don't want to be ingesting any heavy metals. Tamara Rubin tests every product that she writes about for these 4 substances (primarily): Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, and Arsenic. She writes an entire article for each separate item (or product) tested, and it is comprehensive and thorough. Public comments are allowed, and do flourish, under each of her articles. If there is another website, or blog writer, or health expert that gives more detail than she does, ... I haven't found it yet.

I'd love to see the Frizzlife TAM4 remineralization filter included in a lab analysis in a future video. Just bought a Waterdrop tankless RO system based partly on your recommendations and lab results (please keep linking to those in the description!) and added this filter mostly based on ease of replacement.
The author of the 2004 paper you cited (Health Risk from Drinking Demineralized Water) went on to co-author the book Drinking Water Minerals and Mineral Balance (2015). $139 from Springer or free via Sci Hub. I'm the kind of crazy who read the entire 154 pages. TL;DR: remineralize to 20-50 ppm Ca, 10-50 ppm Mg, 100-300 ppm bicarbonate, 20-250 ppm sulfate, 10-500 ppm TDS.
I've bought TDS, pH, KH/GH testers/test kits but I'm not confident they're telling me what I want to know. The remineralization cartridge vendors are all very vague about what they are adding and how much. Keep up the great work. I'm a fan.

These are great because they can be used to filter both treated and untreated water. But if you plan to just filter treated city water, the Clearly Filtered bottle geni.us/eo1oEIs may be a better option

I tried the remineralizer filter with the AquaTru countertop unit and didn't care for the taste. Picked up a small shaker of fine grind pink Himalayan salt and tried 1 teaspoon in a 2 gal. container, whoa! Too salty for my taste. Then I tried about quarter teaspoon for same amount, but once again too salty for my taste. Next I'm going to try just a small "shake" into the water container. I just filled it up and I want to wait until it reaches room temp before I add (maybe it will mix easier when it's not as chilled.)
My question is, is it mandatory you make the sole water first with coarse grind and wait 24 hours or can I do what I've been doing with the fine grind out of the shaker?
I guess if I can't get any satisfaction with the pink salt I'll try the trace drops next.

Reverse osmosis is the gold standard for drinking water treatment. The RO process provides broad contaminant reduction that other water filters do not. I always recommend folks filter their drinking water with a reverse osmosis system, even if they also have other methods of whole house filtration.
You should feel confident you are using reverse osmosis to purify your drinking water for your family.
