Better than the original! Expands more on the Gamalions, better space combat sequences, while maintaining the same sense of urgency and mystic that the original had.
I disagree. "Let's slow it down. That way it will be "easier" and sound more "defined" " BS. More like, "Let's cash in on something that we could never make because we don't have any creativity". Cue the haters.
What an ending, for an excellent show, for an excellent reboot. For a beautiful ship, for her crew that sailed across the stars with her. I salute you... Yamato. For now your voyage is over but come a time and you will return.
The arching sky is calling Spacemen back to their trade. ALL HANDS! STAND BY! FREE FALLING! And the lights below us fade. Out ride the sons of Terra, Far drives the thundering jet, Up leaps a race of Earthmen, Out, far, and onward yet --- Feel her rise! Feel her drive! Straining steel, come alive! My heart turns home in longing Across the voids between, To know beyond the spaceways The hills of Earth are green. We pray for one last landing On the globe that gave us birth; Let us rest our eyes on the fleecy skies And the cool, green hills of Earth.
Cranked the shit out of this song after I got accepted my business program at college. I clawed my way out of a GPA hell for 3 long semesters. Emerging from the struggle, I felt like the Yamato. Suffered many defeats, won victories, battered to absolute hell but somehow came out alive...ALL WITHOUT PLOT ARMOR OR SANDOR!
Which part is from Beethoven? Is that the chorale from 1:56? That sounded awfully familiar the first time I've heard it, but I still can't tell where it's from
In fact, the title is probably a reference to Heinlein, where "The Green Hills of Earth" is the name of a (fictional) song that is mentioned in several of his stories.

Space Battleship Yamato BBY-01 Returned
From Iscandar to Earth
What a great series! THAT is how you remake a classic. A toast to the Yamato and her magnificent crew.
Amen to that! Best reboot ever!

In Okita’s words: I am proud of this ship

Mission Accomplished! Well done, Yamato, old girl! Rest easy, until you are needed once more.
0:00 to 0:45 best take off from earth. I saluted her departure to send her off when I watched the episode

Six years later, we are on 3199, Yamato is eternal, time is temporary.

GHALE GAMILON!
That part from 1:37 is the best. I wish they used that theme more often. Anyone know if there are any stand-alone version of it?
I can upload a cut version if you want me to.
The Soundtrack Cave tbh that would actually be great, thanks! Ghale Gamilon!
@@sergeantapone1607 it’s a pretty obvious play on the second movement of Beethoven’s 7th symphony if that interests you
"Hope For Tomorrow"
I love Beethoven’s 7th symphony I love star blazers, combine the two and you make me very happy
Which part is from Beethoven? Is that the chorale from 1:56? That sounded awfully familiar the first time I've heard it, but I still can't tell where it's from
@@fritzVirginSteeler sounds similar to the 7th symphony movement 2 I think
Just awesome. :)
Im the only one that notice the inspiration of this song on Beethoven’s seventh symphony 2nd movement?
No sir you are not
Just finished a job interview I felt went well. Had to play this.
I seem to be the only teen in America who’s seen the original show :/ Such a good cartoon, I wish they made more like this
Tommygun they made a second season and a third is in preproduction
出渕氏の頭に、ハインラインの「地球の緑の丘 The Green Hills of Earth」があったのは2199公式ツイッターで明らかになってますんで、英語表記はAviceOfOpinin93氏の指摘どおりのようですよ。
Epic end

very nice!
I think it sounds better titled as "The Green Hills of Earth." in English.
In fact, the title is probably a reference to Heinlein, where "The Green Hills of Earth" is the name of a (fictional) song that is mentioned in several of his stories.
+Sid Subrahmanyam Not just RAH's stories, at least 4 other authors have referenced it in their works as well.
I mean, it'd make sense, "we pray for one last landing on the globe that gave us birth..."
Vlad Tairov " ...and to rest our eyes on the fleecy skies, and the cool green hills of Earth!"
So this is the combination of two songs from the classic SBY movie OST ??
Uma pena que essa série não seja exibida no Brasil.😟
Anyone else hear the wings deploy in their head about :24ish?
heinlein !
