After playing the shit out of Dungeon Run, I stopped playing Hearthstone altogether, and moved onto Slay the Spire. It's such an amazing game. I know they have a Dungeon Run like mode in the works for Witchwood which will probably bring me back into the fold.

I agree with this completley! Awesome game mode, little incentive to play... I managed to beat 4 classes and then I made like 2 month break because I just didn't have anything to pull me back to it. I have new cardbacks once per month, and through various promotions, why should I spend more time with it? I only completed all of them last week, and it was a great feeling, I just wish they had a more dynamic reward system, like complete x in the dungeon run and you'll get x.
I have just completed my last class today. Warrior.. Toughest one for me. I won most of my classes vs Xol :) last one was the king, how symbolic :) now I'm ready for the hunter runs in the next expansion 😎
I wish they had a quest "complete a dungeon run: get a pack from the current expansion" (if it's a adventure that's current it will give a pack from the previous expansion).
I've had a few people love heartstone in the beginning and then end up quitting within a few days. Why? Because the pvp game modes dont take into account how many legendaries and/or epics your opponent has. I forgot to tell them about the dungeon mode and at the very least that may catch them with a strong enough hook to work towards grinding out for legendaries. Ty Kripp.

So someone mentioned that Blizzard actually made less money due to dungeon run, because people were playing DR, and not buying card packs to play on ladder. So they are actually disincentivized to produce a lot of good single player content.... and that's fucking depressing.
Doesn't that just mean they're incentivized to bring back adventures but incorporate dungeon run structures into them so that more people will want to buy them to experience the awesome new dungeon run-esque content every few months? They already had a way to make money off of single-player content and decided to get rid of it in favor of this new free thing. I love the new free thing but if that's an issue then just ask us to pay for it again.
Whenever I get a Class Mastery quest I build a deck with the cheapest Class cards, queue casual, play out all my cards, concede, rinse, repeat. I hate it. I don't have fun and aside from the free win my opponents also don't get anything from it. It's stupid. I would much rather play dungeon run.
Really wish they'd upgrade Dungeon Run, maybe make a mega boss run, let us face EVERY boss, then give a reward every 2 wins like it is now, by the end we should get lots of perks, and hopefully beat team all.
I would love to have cards from new expansions included in the buckets I get in the original dungeon run experience, just to change it up a bit. Maybe a few new buckets, maybe a new boss or two per expansion shuffled into the boss pool. But then again, if Blizzard decides to push completely new single player content instead, I'm not going to say no to it either. =P
I don't think it would be at all a negative effect for anyone--new players, old players, business side--if Dungeon Run awarded 10 gold for beating a final boss, to a maximum of 10 times a day like the Play mode provides. I love competitive play against other players, but the reality is that nobody in the world can truly reliably beat Dungeon Run every time, farming Dungeon Run for gold would likely be actually a bit more time invested than farming gold in Play mode. I definitely wouldn't want Dungeon Run to be anywhere close to as incentivized as Play mode, but daily quests still provide those much bigger, much quicker boosts. I'd love to be able to move back and forth between Play mode and Dungeon run depending on mood, how tilted I am at one or the other of the two formats, and just generally provide a little more variety. Hearthstone already is a very varied experience, but I don't think that's a strength that can't or shouldn't be leaned into even more. And I think such a gold incentive into Dungeon Run would feel much more accessible to budget players for whom limited collections can make Play mode frequently frustrating.
I dunno, I feel that people who don't like dungeon run can still enjoy constructed for the synergy and meme decks. Dungeon run is more akin to arena, where you are dealt a somewhat random hand and make do with what you have. Not the same feels man... And then there are counter-building for the previous adventures, especially with a more finite card pool so you can't simply build the perfect counter. And.. ofc... brawl can be fun, thou most people probably only enjoy a certain subset of brawls. HS does have a few different aspects. As much as I like dungeon run, it isn't a full representation of what HS can be.
If they could just improve the very poor and game-throwing ai (as we see in this video) then the game mode would be even better and more challenging, hopefully they have worked on this in the new expansion
I would argue the main issue with the dungeon run system is that it is rng hell. Rng treasures, rng cards to choose from sets, rng bosses, all on top of the already existing rng in your own cards and card draws. The rng in card draws is just part of a card game, and I like cards that have rng in them. I DO NOT LIKE when you put a ton of extra rng on top of that and put a card back behind it. Skill is rarely a factor in dungeon run. And oftentimes the "skill" is just making sure you don't do soemthing stupid. I like the idea of dungeon run but I don't like how many layers of rng there is. If we could see the order of the bosses in a particular run before we begin OR see the cards we will be offered that would at least get rid of some of the rng. I beat dungeon run very fast with mage and hunter and that is because I did not encounter the fungalmancer or blackseed and the final boss was that dragon. I still have not beat it with priest. So no I don't think it is the lack of incentive, I think it is the lack of enjoyment when you lose repeatedly in circumstances you can do nothing about.
I agree, but the bad RNG is on boss side: King generates random treasures. Xol generates random effects (m.control steal, crush, recycle, small aoe, freeze, destroy 1 mana crys) No matter how good your deck is, final boss rng dont give a damn
I'm with you, every time i get a really awesome deck i'll find boss 5/6 that counters whatever i pick, the shaman card draw counter if i go spells etc it is really grating playing that mode and being raped by rng.
Probably one of my worst runs with priest ended with the darkness. I only had half of the hard counter to this boss. I had wax rager but not cloak of invisibility. The wax rager of course got entombed. Now what hurt so bad was that I was actually offered the cloak of invisibility at some point in the run but my deck had plenty of damaging spells so I went with robe of the magi. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THE BOSS WOULD BE THE DARKNESS?! If I knew that, I would have picked the cloak of course. I did NOT know that and had no way of knowing other than guessing; so I went with the item that made the most sense before I encountered him. I still don't think it was my fault. And even if you make the argument that you think it determines the bosses it will give you at the start and offer cards accordingly; that would make picking the right cards and treasures a guessing game. Also never have I ever encountered the treasure room.
now you reminded me Darknesses has MC and Entomb. Playing a Cube-Rhonin Mage with double +6 sp.dmg and lots of frost aoe. I saw my arcane giant b entombed and i thought it was safe to go Rhonin nope MndControl... ruined me combo, did I get unlucky? No, he runs like triple entomb and mc, hes bound to fek u
No matter how good you are at the game, if Xol The Unscathed only generates Flummox or Fear from his hero power, you're pretty screwed, s%#t about your rank rng gives none. (Flummox is Mind control; Fear is recycle)

They should make quests completable from playing dungeon run even outside of the spelunker daily quest.
I feel like it should have a weekly incentive such as 100 gold for winning a dungeon run, which refreshes each week.

Actually, win 7 games in any mode also works with dungeon runs and it is the fastest 100 gold you can get in HS 😉
