I have kids of my own and I still think "gender reveal parties" are a bit extra
I find like the cakes or like a balloon is fine but then there are like the actual extra ones. Those I find mildly annoying but I don’t mind like a cake or a quick ballon and just being happy for them being able to have a child and being happy about it.

@@will1905 absolutley....spend it and get the popper and pop it at the baby shower. my thing was simply why have a seperate party for gender reveal when you can just do the same thing, poppers sterams, baloons games eccetra at the babyshower. my comment wasnt so much about the money being spent as much as it was about the time and preperation and having to carve out a seperate day for something that can easily be done at the same party especially sense revealing the gender takes 5 secs unless you decide to draw it out for 3 hours. its like if I wanted to have a wedding ceremony on saturday, and have a throwing of the flowers the next day becuase I want to celebrate who catches it. do all that in the moment at the wedding lol why does there need to be a whole seperate party. but like i said earlier its all good if you want to do that go for it. I personally just never understood why seperate a baby shower and gender reveal as two completly seperate events when both are about the baby anyway.
I’m with you completely. It makes no sense to spend so much money on a shower, and spend even more on a gender reveal when you can save a lot more money revealing the gender during the shower, and reserve that extra money that one would use for a gender reveal for the baby’s necessities. But that’s just me 🤷♀️

I don't agree with Steve about her being hateful. There's going to be a baby shower, and that's the time to throw a party. Announcing the gender is fun, but it doesn't need to be a huge production. People have gotten way out of hand with this stuff.
It doesn’t have to be a production for YOU…Period. Not everyone has to do things the way YOU would do them and that’s ok. That girl is big time jealous of her friend and glad Steve called her out. You don’t have to like them but as a friend you should want to see your friends happy and support them. Not go on national TV spitting this mess.

It is a choice of the parents to know a child’s gender. Letting others know makes it able for family and friends to shop for baby shower gifts and avoid returning items. It is helpful but not necessary.
There are gender neutral items. You can buy your own gender specific items

Nobody needs a "gender reveal party" to tell ppl whether the baby will be a boy or a girl, but there isn't anything that says they can't have one. Everyone is allowed to have the opinion that they are extra because, for some people, they are extraneous, but they don't have to attend them and simply wait for the baby shower.

Oh absolutely, just another way of wasting money. Yes things get way extra with gender reveals. I mean kids were born before too. And with all this woke culture and gender not "mattering" this is way too much emphasis on a gender reveal.
I am German and we usually dont throw gender reveal parties nor baby showers. Gender is not so important. Some German parents dont even want to know the gender until birth. It is somehow seen as a private thing, we dont tell others. But there are gifts for the baby and congratulations when it is born.
So, I understand what you and Destiny are saying. And I also understand Steve. If I would be living in the US and gender reveals are kind of a cultural thing or tradition, I probably would do it (and celebrate more the baby than its gender)
And true, having a baby is important in life and changes everything. Sometimes even friendship, especially between married and single people without kids.

Steve is wrong about the the girl about the gender reveal. She DID NOT say anything to warrant him saying she has a little hate in her. He cannot always get it right. However, sometimes people go oveerboard and spend money when they shouldn't and later said, "If I had enough..." For THOUSANDS of years there were no gender reveal. It is NOT a must in life. THAT IS EXTRA.
