- The car was running at 1.6 bar boost in the video (Around 700HP) The engine is capable of 800HP at 2.0 bar of boost pressure!
We took the 2003 Subaru Impreza STi to the track for the first time after rebuilding the engine during the GT Cup 2018 at Monza circuit! This beast features a Precision 60/62 turbo, 2.1 stroker kit, Process West intake manifold and a Tomei Expreme Ti Titanium exhaust! Make sure to turn up your speakers because this thing sounds nuts!

@@imfat8207 when you down shift your really suppose to give it gas then let go of clutch but he was using his clutch to slow down with out gas to engine brake

@@juverargueta Fair and that is how I downshift myself, but today's track instructors, at least the ones I've had experience with, teach both ways (i.e. rev-matching and letting the clutch out slowly without blipping) and most people on the track use the latter technique.
In my case, however, that may be because I'm more involved in motorcycle track events and most modern bikes have slipper clutches that reduce the max torque that can be transmitted from the wheels back into the motor, so you can afford to be a little lazy/sloppy without completely upsetting the chassis.

Sumo Deligiannis It's different on all setups. Just depends when the boost set by the controller or wastegate is reached. Larger turbos open later in the rpms at the same boost level etc. Depends how fast they spool up.

These rally cars are amazing. I own a 700HP Mitsu evo 6 (lightened to 1150kg): stroker 2.3, gtx3582 2.4 bar on the highest boost map. They are nuts.

Fast car but needs a better driver. For one, you need to heel toe. I don't know how long that clutch will survive that plus the 800hp. I'm guessing a few track days and that's it.
Chris I agree, poor rev matching. Plus for that level of power, why a stock box. By the look of the shift knob, I bet the gears are stock with an upgraded final drive. Real short shifts.
Joshua Kinder the oem 6 speed out of the sti is sufficient, will hold that power, there are stis in the US with stock 6 speeds behind 800+hp stis running 9s. Owner will probably use the oem unit for however long it lasts then upgrade if it breaks

That grinding you’re hearing on the downshifts into 4th is the syncos crying for help. That gearbox will not last long. If I had to guess it will fail before the clutch.

Sweet! Extra footage reminds me when I had a 500 CC Kawasaki 2 stroke. It was wicked. Grab the clutch, twist the throttle and a double kick down to the shifter, release clutch, launch into new reality. Toyed with a Suzi 750 DOHC. My 500 topped out at 160. Real quick.
Bullshit. No 2 stroke kawasaki 500 ever went 160mph. Depending on the model, they went between 114mph and 125mph.

Its not a high quality tuning. After 2500km the engine is broken. Everyone can push this engine up to 700 or 800 Hp with a big turbo and remap... But a longlife 800hp tuning is a masterpiece.

Maybe he invested most of the money in to the engine and couldn’t afford brakes and decent tyres... seeing as a good set of brakes, suspension/shocks and tyres together would be around £7k in the UK, around €8k in Europe or even $10k in the US...
