I went from a Golf 7R Estate to a G31 520d Touring and much preferred it. Sure it wasn't as fast but 90% of the time I found I was just driving along keeping up with traffic and sitting in the Golf R was.... just a Golf ! The BMW is a much nicer place to sit and the infotainment is a better experience. Congrats on the 100k+ subs !!👍🏼
I used to have an E92 320i. I never liked the lack of torque, but it did handle very well. I moved to an F32 420d. The large amount of extra torque on the diesel is so much better, and I suggest the diesel models, unless you are going for a 440i and above. The only down side I found with the diesels is the inferior handling. But if you are doing a lot of cruising, they make sense, and the 55MPG is a bonus.

I feel I need to point out, modern diesels are all ULEZ compliant... My 17 plate is as well... So any new diesel BMW will be fine in any low emission zones! Also congrats on the subscriber milestone!

430i is probably the sweet spot but 420i has all you need on UK roads really. 0-60 in 7.5 seconds is decent!
