This was a seminal day in the history of the American presidency. President Ronald Reagan would become the first U.S.A. head of state to visit the New York Stock Exchange. This extra-ordinary move, combined with not appointing a single Ph D. to a cabinet position in his administration helped fuel an economic explosion the likes the U.S.A. had never seen before. President Ronald Reagan was saying, in a subtle way, with this trip to the New Stock Exchange that greed is healthy and good. Abundant free market capitalism enhances prodigious and ferocious competition.
