Again, love the Chopin intro! I know it's too early to say, but I think Szczesny is going to save our season! I have nightmares when Inaki is between the sticks!

I don’t blame Xavi for last season one bit, Barca playing style is heavily dependent on creating flanks and a press resistance , tempo controlling pivot, if we are to compare let’s base it on xavi’s laliga winning season where we were the best defending team in Europe.
Flick style of play is different because of the movement, only the pivot and the defense occupy a zone and the rest are free flowing and making runs in the box, this style of play suits players more because they are free to roam and unpredictable
Flick is a big step up from Xavi in terms of attack and intensity but he hasn’t actually done much in terms of the defense, we’ve conceded a goal per match against weaker opponents and while we can attribute that to injured defenders Xavi can say the same with his attack because of dembele’s injury.
I’ll hold my judgement on flick until after our games against Bayern and Real Madrid because that’s what will really judge our strength

@@ZugaFcb At the same time by your logic, comparing Flick's defence to Xavi's La Liga winning season is also not fair. Xavi that season had all his best defenders available, Flick does not. Flick only has 2 defenders in Cubasi & inigo. I'm more impressed with what Flick has managed to do defensively given the massive improvement we've seen from Inigo this season. Ask yourself, if Xavi only had cubasi and inigo as the only defenders available, would he have wont the league? I dont think so. Flick's defence can only improve once more quality defenders come back from injuries.
As far as attck etc is concerned, I can count in one hand the amount of times I was impressed wwith the playing style under Xavi even when we won. We were constantly outplayed by teams we should be beating but we'd score a goal and hang on for dear life for the rest of the game, that is not the so called barca way. The main problem i had with Xavi was that i just didnt see progress, our performances were a hit or miss even when we won the league we were far from impressive, we just defended good. But with Flick, even if wwe dont win a title this year, i can 100% say that i see the vision and i can get behind this project.

@@fimmyk you forget that cubarsi later became a starter under Xavi, I bet you that had Barcelona signed a pivot like Rodri then Xavi would have done way better, You forget that xavi actually played well in the beginning of last season till gavi tore his acl, that was the beginning of his demise
I agree that flick is way better attacking wise but I can’t say the same about his defense, not until I watch us play Madrid and Bayern.

People don't want to point out that Xavi didn't believe in the team No intense training and thats true .He didn't value this squad as hansi flick has

People always blame xavi but the team was seriously weakened by departures and injuries. And flick really benefits from the return of pedri and the fact that jamal and caubrasi just are getting better and better. flick uses garcia in the double pivot who is also not good enough.

Full credit to flick for imposing his ideas so fast
But it will take the rma and bayern game to fully assess this team
