I have noticed that for most of Mike Bereal's breakdowns by Sean :
1. Mike's Rhodes sounds has a romantic feel to it especially when he switches from the bright lydian sound to the dark sound (check out the first 18 seconds of this video and Sean's reaction - 0:00
0:16 - Mike's movements and Sean's reaction).
2. Unlike Rodney East who matches the singer's voice with the right voicing, Mike involves the bright lydian voicings a lot as compared to Rodney's sus and major 7th voicing with a touch of drop 2 voicings.
That dude is just flat out phenomenal

You're not the only one . Sometimes I feel like they over complicate some songs to the point where it resembles the song but it doesnt match.
Man, I was waiting for someone to say that. Mike is phenomenal. One of the best and there is no denying his skill. But, it's too much. Back in the day my mother, my music teacher and the MOM at two churches, would have gave me the stankiest look.
