- In this video of The Forest, I should you how to build in the big trees, or the sacred trees as they are known as. You cannot attach platforms to the side of them anymore. This is a rather easy build to do, and it is quite cheap. Keep in mind that middle pillar in the tree is what is holding it up, canni's can't destroy but mutants can.

You could reduce the gap by building the two pillars closer together. Filling the gap was really hard to do, it took me ages and I am not sure how I even did it.
I got asked how to do this by PE9CE in my discord. He said Broadbents version wasn't working, it is due to the big trees losing the ability to be built on.
Let me know what ideas you have for what could be built on this, how with a roof looks kind of funny with the branches and leaves sticking out. Cheers
Farket I think taking your idea and expanding it in multiple directions using the rock pillars making a sudo tree village out of the one tree would give you a common area (the main platform) and two to three extended areas where your storage and living quarters would be nice. Additionally turning it into a deadfall dial, or putting a deadfall wall further down would allow your house to be safe.

this will make the gap just a sliver wide, but there is no lip
If you stagger the two pillars so one is effectively behind the other then you should have no gap. The edge there will be uneven slightly, but if you put stairs or something there you’d never notice the edge. Nice build, I love your channel Farket. Cheers from the USA
Hey farket, there are a few "regular" trees around the island that clip through cliffs, large rocks etc., that the player can't cut down. Can you test to see if armsies can knock them down? If they can't, they'd be excellent candidate for safe tree houses.

I would like to see builds like this doe in the 2021 version of the game because custom flooring no longer attaches to pillars like that. It only allows you to place on the ground or make another floor to a house you built but what sucks is literally all your awesome build are longer viable in the current version of the game. It's like Endnight doesn't want people to have such awesome builds anymore lol

I thought that same thing too but i just found that if you have the custom floor on the rock pillars or such and press c it changes and allows this kind of building

you can use the blueprint as a measuring tool, for example: Start a stone wall / stick fence in the middle of the tree then move away to the radius you want and while moving away, count the number of top stones / vertical sticks, place your structure. You can now go back to the middle, again placing a fence in the middle, move out and count the vertical sticks. Works best with stick fence since the distance between two vertical sticks is pretty constant if you're not placing it on a steep slope.
All those with PS4 I’ve figured out how to make this work, it’s expensive but possible, only difference is you need to add a custom roof first, then add a “snap to” custom floor, once up you’ll notice the floor is not flat cus it’s a roof , so build a wall around the edge which will even it out then you can then place flat custom floor on top!

I've built a similar treehouse and found that the mutants can hit the floor even if you build 5 rock walls high. But only just touching it. Great video, love your work.

Nice build. Think I need to start playing The Forest again. I was playing it way too much and it was getting repetitive, but I've been away from it for a while now so it's probably worth doing another play through. A fun build that I did with that tree was creating a building that completely enclosed the tree inside. It was massive. With some lighting inside the building to light up the tree, it looked pretty cool.

Hmm .. Very interesting project !! It will be necessary to try this done, only install the pillars on the principle of building a round tower. Stand with your back to the tree and install the pillars on the floor. So the building will be smoother around the perimeter.

Yeah this is all well and good when you’re running creative mode or using mods etc but try building in this location for real. You have to go a long way to collect logs and attacks are frequent. I’ve tried building in this area and while I did do it it was difficult and frustrating due to cannibals. These sorts of videos make things look very easy but, in reality it’s a different matter.

Hello, I know it is a bit late, but you actually CAN see the rock pillar inside the tree, you just have to switch to the hole cutter and hover it on the tree and you will be able to see hilighted in red the rock pillar, to check if height, shape and position are correct. Hope it helps someone
I did that exact same build but with a house. NOTE! This area attracts so much canabals and mutants. Block off enough area so they cant get in
Rather than placing them closer together, couldnt you start at the last and finish on the first pillar to close the gap? Never actually tried that, but since you can place walls in walls it should work, i guess

Sounds like you’re trying to get the custom floor to be less than 45 degrees, I has to be that or wider.

Is there a way to build a custom treehouse on PS without any of the PC mods and edited settings. Wanting to make a proper tree house base and the rubbish single ones just dont cut it.
This method doesnt work on ps the stone wall wont allow you to place blue print in or on tree
Hey, I know I am 2 years late, but as a playstation player, I can confirm I was able to do this. Just place the Rock wall on the edge of the tree instead of inside it. It will give the same effect of the floor being made.
Awesome tips you have , I started this game one week ago on PS4 and I'm addicted 😁 . I only have one problem , every time I planted seeds, the plants after growing they disappeared without no reason 😔 . I don't know what to do . Can you help me Farket ?
I'm on PS4 and I don't think you can put custom floor on top of a rock wall like that? It will only place on the ground and it won't stretch from one spot to another! it's kinda like the simple stairs and not like custom stairs. But I might be doing something wrong idk

@@peggystyles you can do it its just soooooooo hard to aim (how I fix it the first 2 pillars should be a big wall its hard to snap on pillars but on walls it instantly snaps on) so build a wall instead of the first 2 pillars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m new to the game and I think I’m already a fan, this game is amazing. How do I get logs e.t.c without being attacked?
The greatest thing about this game is learning by doing. However, it can be frustrating sometimes. I'd check out Farket's video on patrol routes; it shows where the cannibals travel most often, so you can avoid those spots if you just want to farm wood in peace. Hope you enjoy the game; im envious of you!

That's part of the fun, but if you just want to build, you can use Peaceful Mode which has no cannibals.
Here is what I do. For normal cannibals use bow and arrow, it's a one shot head shot kill. For Virginia and cow man use Spears (throw) and poison arrows (never use fire arrows it makes them more aggressive) and for armsy use it for cutting logs. You can bring down an entire forest with just one armsy. To take down an armsy use the spear(throw and pickup) and always keep moving. You can sprint in every direction without having to look towards where you're going.
Pick some spots to farm logs and build log haulers which you immediately fill with the logs you harvest. Fill one up, make a new one, fill it, etc. it takes a lot of sticks, but they can’t be destroyed and when you have enough you can push them to your build site.
You could also try building boats to store logs on, or bases in the water where they are safe and store logs there, or even zip lines leading away from your log farming spots so you can get the logs and yourself out of the area fast if attacked. Use water collectors as invulnerable walls and create large storage areas for your logs within those walls. Use caves as storage for logs while stockpiling. There are tons of ways to do it, be creative! :)

yes it continue woreking . yo dont have to erase the middle stones pillar and better build the stones pillar an the custom floor and then erase the pillars except the middle pillar. use the C key to change the mod to join the floor in each pillar stones.

No matter what I do, I can't get the custom floor to connect to the pillar I made in the middle of the tree. eventually I gave up and made it out of custom foundations, it looks shittier but oh well xP

Is there a way to remove blueprints without having to go up to them and removing them? My silly friend tried to build a fire on the yacht and it fell through under the boat and none of us can reach it to delete it, so now it's on the screen all the time saying to gather sticks and rocks
