$80,000 I could get house & land. It is so sad that once people flocked to this movement, the price is too high for people TiNY houses were meant for.

And it’s 4 years old. Lol. The price is laughable! You can buy a decked out 5th wheel or bumper pull with way more stuff for 80k. It’s insane how people don’t feel guilty about screwing buyers.

The reason people were going tiny is to save money! Now, like the original comment said.. they could buy a house and land for that depending on location. It’s just crazy. People aren’t going to buy a tiny home at that price when you can buy something bigger and nicer.

I visited there today and this past may and the changes between that time was amazing. I got to see the progress of my house. I met Randy both times and he is exactly what you see in the videos. He got information about me and my friend before coming out and talking to us. That was impressive and everyone we talked to was friendly and you could tell they love there job. I highly recommend people to visit and experience not only the place but to be able to interact with everyone. And of course I got to pet Ace. (Randy if you or Amanda read this, I think you should put a go pro on ace so we can all see the mischief he gets into). Anyways great company that does amazing work.

The chalk above the door is from the Epiphany Blessing of the Doors.
The Blessing of the Doors has root in Polish and German customs. It recalls the visit of the Magi, strangers in a foreign land, and how they were welcomed by Mary and Joseph at the stable in Bethlehem. The blessing reminds us of the welcome that we owe to all who visit us, regarding them as nothing less than Christ himself, or as Scripture has it, “Do not neglect hospitality, for through it, some have unknowingly entertained angels.” [Hebrews 13:2]
Preparation: Tradition holds that the doors are chalked with a combination of the letters of the initials of the Magi and the numbers of the new year. For 2012, it would look like 20 + C + M + B + 12.

I'm very thankful for my blessing which include living with my oldest girl and her husband when I was suddenly stuck with seizures in my late 40's that has left me unable to work (late 50's now).
I'm hoping to get into low-income housing at some point in the next 2 years. Long waiting list.
I'm looking for options and my kids are in no hurry to get rid of me thankfully.
Sorry - I go on and on!

@Ukdena Walker thanks YOU for understanding how cats show love.
      Glad the interview went well!
I believe that sharing our positive attitude can help spread it. I know it helped me "keep it up" as it's become expected of me - and that's OK!
It keeps me honest and helps me to "practice what I preach."
I learned from the example of my Mom (82). She has 8 children, 25 grandchildren, and the great-grands seem to be growing in number monthly.
Mom's been a widow since my Dad died of cancer when he was only 43 (1980.)
My youngest sister was born the same year - she's 41.
Rachel is staying with Mom for the next week because Mom just had her left shoulder replaced on Monday.
She should be doing better by next week, buyt 2 of my brothers are taking next week and they can check her house for things that may need fixed or moved.
After that, several grandchildren have offered to take a day off to fill out the next week.
Everyone is vaccinated as there is no way anyone would put Mom in danger.
Being separated for that first year was so hard for a family who are so close.
I live in Utah while 70% of my family live in Texas.
So I have been missing my family but because our love and faith is so strong we feel like we're together no matter how far apart we are.
      Zoom and face-time is fabulous!
Mom is more technically savvy that I am!
I said I could go on and on!
The example of my Mom and my huge extended family helps me to always be thankful for my blessings.
I'm thankful to get the opportunity to meet people like you who also know the power of positivity and prayer.
      Thank you so much.

There is a lot of Wood! I would add some color to the walls and ceiling. Maybe some sort of color wash, so that the beauty of the wood would still come through. If I remember right, color washing involves diluting paint with water, but I'm not sure if I've got that right. Essentially, the knots in the would would still be visible, but it would lighten it up.

I would leave the living downstairs and install an elevated bed. When in use it sits above the living area and easy to get into. When not needed raise to the ceiling. The heat from the stove makes the fridge over work and this increases the power consumption, making the fridge wear out faster and prone to failing.

I would want it lifted to have more headroom under the loft to use as a multipurpose living area and put a small wood burning stove in there. Instead of the smaller wall wood stove in the kitchen, a small wood cook stove/oven and have those portable double burner electric induction cooktops.
I also need a soaking bathtub. Place it on a Mountain View piece of property, where I can grow orchards and food and raise some animals... that would be my heaven! I would never want to leave! 😍

In general I haven't been impressed by Tiny Homes in Scandinavia as they take the "minimalist" idea to the extreme & are very expensive, or they DIY build with cob walls etc.. I much prefer what is coming out of the US, Aust. & NZ.
I have seen someone build hanging space & drawers in their downstairs bedroom with a queen bed. What I like is the height and width of the house, with only a few stairs up to the lounge area. I would just paint cupboards & ceiling to break up the wood look a bit more. Love these vids as it shows how diverse tiny homes can be and I get good ideas, even for floor plans for small cottages.

That is absolutely beautiful!! For the age, it still looks brand new! The craftsmanship is phenomenal. That is a GREAT price too! Would love to have that spacious home.

For the lofted livingroom would there be any way to put in a stair lift to the stairs? Or turn it into a ramp?

I take out the woodstove and put the refrigerator where the stove is take out the range and put in an old fashion woodburning cookstove. You be able to heat the house and cook. Perfect for off grid the “bedroom“ I would use for a pantry. Great for putting extra food stuff some things away and you could also use it for a closet. The living room I would use as a living room/bedroom with a daybed. I Think that would be a perfect fit. The second loft would be good for when Company comes.

I would be concerned about fitting couches and beds through small stairways and short doorways before you purchase them. Also, it!s not efficient to put a refrigerator next to a stove. Only plan on the wood stove for ambience. You can only use small pieces of wood stoked real often. The mini-split is a great idea.

I have never seen such beautiful homes. The idea is you have and run with wow is magnificent I wish that we could get some of them back here in the Great Northwest I am in Oregon and we have some but nothing like what you build so if you ever think about making another plant out this way would be fantastic even if it was in Nevada or you know anywhere like that just part way across it would help a lot so keep up the great work and love watching you thanks for everything that you share with us. And by the way you crack me up both of you.

Randy you should get this beautiful home as you need it and more than deserve a really nice ITH and you can use the living room to entertain which as a business owner is a must!
That being said this is the best one I’ve seen for us with me running a small biz from home and a 6’4” hubby. But we have no land and you have no lots available. 😂

Making the bed and changing sheets etc would be a real challenge in that setup. The ideal setup would be the make the floor adjustable in height but that is very difficult to do. The other solution would be murphy bed/bedsit/dual purpose room and have underfloor storage that pulls out.

Those exhaust fans are what they originally put in manufactured homes. There should be a chain so when you pull it the exterior flap opens and the fan runs.

I love this floor plan. I'd have a sleeper sofa upstairs and only a twin or full bed in the bedroom. I wouldn't need the wood stove in DFW but a mini-split would be perfect. I'm looking for a place to put it and I'm saving my money. I'm 75 but still working full time and need to stay in the DFW area or I'd move to Tennessee.

I think I'd prefer the living room downstairs. More time is spent there. It would get annoying having to go up and down the stairs every time. At least with the bedroom upstairs, you only have to use the stairs a couple times a day. The living room would be bigger downstairs too because there would be no wall there that is currently closing in the bedroom.

Love the bathroom space & the closet in it ❤️ I have 80 acres of land & this would be a great retirement home. A very well built home also. Randi, you’re so right about the price of wood now so it’s not a bad price for such a well built home. 👍❤️It sure WOW’S ya 😃❤️
