- On my first ever trip to Egypt and to Africa as a whole, I search for the story behind ancient Nubian language and its people. Along the way, I experience the stunning Red Sea coast in Hurghada, the ancient temples of Luxor, and the beauty of the Nile in Aswan.
Locations in this video:
Hurghada
Luxor
Aswan
Nubian Village
Thanks man encouraging me too travel too Egypt. I'm a mixed African American. The people seem welcoming.
I'm an Egyptian living in the US and wanted to just say that your Arabic is super impressive for someone who taught themself! I've always been curious about minority cultures and languages in Egypt, but there isn't much academia or public interest, so I appreciate this content! I think you'd be interested to research the Berber language (Siwi Amazigh) in Northwest Egypt.
Thanks! I will absolutely be coming back to Egypt to make a film about the siwa language, sadly this trip I was low on time but I would have definitely wanted to visit!
@@SohoJoe202 true my friend from siwa ion know if he is a amazigh or "berber"
No "minority culture" - INDIGENOUS! Arabs invaded and brought their language and Islam - as they always do when they INVADE. Arabs respect no ones culture but their own.
I had no idea why this video was suggested in my feed but I'm so happy I spent the time to watch it. You are truly an awesome young man! We have actually started to binge watch your channel. Your thirst and quest for knowledge for a young man is refreshing. Keep the videos coming. And safe travels!!
Hear, here!
Love this video kid! I'm impressed and very pleased with your research. As an African American this blew me away. Only 17 years old...Wow! Great job young King. Keep up the good work and Keep looking into the Nubian languages of our people so our Heroic Ancient Queens can have their history deciphered as Egypt did and allow their story to finally be told. Peace and Blessings.
I'm Egyptian. And You look like Egyptian as well..I would never doubt you as foreign if I see you.
Hi
I am half-Egyptian and I find this to be really cool! In fact, I just visited Luxor and Aswan a week ago!
Two tumbs up on your Nubian language quest. You make history education so fun. Thank you for your time.
He blends in well there with his looks.
?
And I visited Nubian village.I take in hand the litle crocodile!Greeting from Romania!🇷🇴🇪🇬
You are living my dream. While I'm not old go after my dreams but I got many responsibilities that prevent me from doing so
You are absolutely incredible for learning Arabic!
Awesome video TJ! As a 16 year old I admire your curiosity - your videos give a glimpse of hope for the real world that's waiting out there. Can't wait to see the next eps :) Stay cool!
I'm 17 and I agree 100% tbh. Deadass he inspired me to pursue language learning too a high degree and not as something I "try" By the time I am 18 I'm hoping to be Advanced in 5 languages, but w'ell see, nonetheless it was literally a major turning point and a realisation that I need to put effort into my goals and pursuits in order to achieve them and TJ really lives by that I think.
@@adamdfc9809 Good luck man! I've been learning a third language atm and just picked it as a course for next year. But TJ's videos made me realise that language comes alive by pursuing genuine connections with people and focusing on their stories, not just rote learning it. Anyway lol all the best with your language learning! :D
@@user-rc6pw4bc8o Thanks you too! Just curious what languages are you learning?
@@adamdfc9809 I'm learning Spanish at the moment :)
@@user-rc6pw4bc8o Nice! I started spanish about 1 month ago along with Turkish and I've been neglecting Turkish because Spanish for me is much easier as I am already in a high level in French and the grammar is extremely similar, it's just a matter of learning vocab and pronunciation. Well I hope you reach your goals in Spanish!
The village with The Nile River is absolutely breathtaking.
What a beautiful people and language. Thank you for posting.😊
No crocodiles for me though, LoL.
Awesome work TJ! Loved this journey you took us on! I didn’t realize elephantine island was on the Nile and so far south. Loved that last segment where we got a sample of the Nubian language from the locals! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you! Nubian was such an amazing language I can’t wait to make some more indigenous films!
Such a great video! Your Arabic is really good, please keep going with it! I hope you visit other arabic speaking countries too, everyone of them are diverse in culture and more!
Yes absolutely! Can’t wait to travel around the Middle East more
I'm impressed with how you pronounce ع ح and ق. Most non arabs cannot pronounce them
definitely took years of practice for the ayn, luckily the others exist in Persian and some other languages haha
hahaha im an american living in egypt and i say ق even when im not supposed to. ح is easy but ع only comes out when i force it. sometimes.
I am non Arab yet I can pronounce the ع ح ق pretty well
Am a Kenyan Nubian, am really like this, shows me my roots
Awesome video! In Florida some people keep Gators as pets.
This is soo awesome! I really want to visit Aswan some time soon.
Keep pouring out this great content bro! Definitely keeping an eye out for more videos 🔥
Thank you my man! This was super fun to make
You are so friendly,TJ. Thank you for making videos and I love your style of living. Just simple and peaceful life, you know.
Just discovered your channel. Very high production value, interesting facts in combination with an outgoing personality and interesting encounters. Looking forward to seeing more adventures! No doubt your channel will blow up eventually. Cheers from Sweden!

12:35 😶What!! i wanna live there🚶🏻♀️

TJ your Arabic is very good, this video is absolutely amazing and It makes me miss Egypt so so much.
Thank you 😄🙏
@@ThePlanetProject Can't wait for the next video!
I love also the natural actions of people ,
environment like that, you know? Yeah..so pleasure I got now from this recording of your journey.
That’s exactly why I love to travel, people are truly amazing
@@ThePlanetProject yeah.. meaningful life you have,I also try to do the things we love and dreams become.
You are a good person. Thank you for paying time our comments ☺️
Another amazing video Mr Howzar XD hahahah . Your Egyptian Arabic is very good and you have done a great job here, as you always do. The villages look beautiful and the people authentic and kind. That's exactly what I like about your videos. :) You dive right into a specific culture andyou don't film usual touristic places and malls as many youtubers do when they travel somwhere. However, I would like to correct the first guy wo said that in Morocco, people use standard Arabic. Well, it's actually very different and not close to MSA at all :)
I can’t wait to travel around more around the Middle East! By the way, he was saying that they could speak MSA in addition to their dialect, I think I just cut out some context. Thank you for enjoying as always 🙌
Nubians were such glorious people! It's so sad to see a cultural and religious genocide!
How sad they have adopted Islam and speak Arabic!
Amazing video..keep it up
Amazing video! it's very impressive that you talked with them in egyptian dialect and not MSA considering the lack of material to study arabic dialects since they have no written form , if you ever think of visiting Jordan don't hesitate to contact me , stay safe and enjoy your time !
فيديو رائع !
Yeah just finding materials to learn an Arabic dialect is a challenge in itself, but it was definitely worth it when I was able to connect with people instead of having to use MSA the whole time. I’m so excited to visit Jordan, can’t wait and I’ll definitely reach out when I go 🙌🇯🇴
exactly ! , i think you will find the levantine(jordan, syrian , lebanese, palestinian) dialects easier to learn because they are not as different from MSA as other arabic dialects , will be waiting !
Your Arabic is better than mine already!
Haha can’t wait to keep learning it’s such a beautiful language!
loved the vid, hope you continue to make content
Definitely! Can’t wait to start traveling again and make more videos like this 🙌
Awesome video! I came with no knowledge about Aswan and now I want to visit, it is very interesting!
that's awesome! thanks for watching
Amazing as always!
I'm very interested in Egypt lately, it's such a fascinating place and it feels surreal to think how these sights were built before Christ and are still there.
I really like the idea of your search for small or lost languages, since it shows the Internet a group of people, who you can't really research well otherwise and also you represent them fantastic, feels very natural. :)
Yeah I really love the format of this series too cause it pretty much forces me to explore more interesting places which I love! I highly recommend a trip to Egypt when you have the chance, it’s so eye opening when you’re able to see the temples and pyramids and such in person and the people and culture are amazing there 🙌🇪🇬
@@ThePlanetProject Yes, it’s also really interesting to watch something different, which shows how a local lives, in this case with its crocodile.
I am also a fan of travelling to less known areas, like the ones you find, but sadly I’m not really able to.. I’ll have time for that after 18, hopefully :D
At least now is a great time to research haha късмет with all your future travels!
@@ThePlanetProject Ооо, много ти благодаря! :)) Късмет и много успех и на теб! :)
Your video bought back memories of my trip to Egypt last Feb, 2020..
Very Historical experience, from Cairo, Luxor, Aswan...
We sailed the Nile River on a riverboat...
Visited the Nubian Village, too. The residents of one home welcomed us with dance & music.. And, yes, there was a crocodile 😊
Hibiscus tea, served hot or cold, was the beverage of choice.. Quite Delicious..
I was wondering if that was the hot tea you sipped @ Amir's Spice shop
TFS your experience..
🇪🇬
I really enjoyed all the way along with you guys. So happy.
Excellent content, really amazing. Something tells me you've been there before in a previous life..
Hello My Nubians ❤
Egypt in Aswan country in North Africa 🇪🇬❤️🌍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's a very scary reptile crocodile 🐊
Great conversation. Thanks for sharing your beautiful experiences. Nubians. Priceless. Great interview?
That is so cool bro..I lived that thru you..To see the real people amd see they are so cool too..Some of them look like some of my boys..Beautiful..I need to make a trip there amd see it myself.
Egypt is Africa
What about the Madu netchr? That’s the original Egyptian language that the hieroglyphs are written in. Most European Egyptologist have a lot of the information wrong because the Greeks switched around a lot of the names of things as well as the meanings.
Lmao no dislikes that's how u know this guy a g
From what I saw, Hurghada reminds me a lot of Eilat which also sits on the Red Sea. I guess it's the same vibe.
Your like A tour guide I want to visit. Egypt soon good info
Awesome video bro thank u!
I want to learn the Nubian language, the world is so fascinated by the ancient Egyptian language
Enjoyed your video ❤️
Bonjour tj votre vidéo est très amusant . Votre l’arabe est très bien.
Lots to learn from you and I really admire your perspectives and ideologies
Thank you 🙏
That’s so interesting that they catch and keep crocodiles to show status.
keep going😂💙💙💙🔥
how much time did you spend learning arabic ? (by the way amazing video )
only about 3 weeks haha (right after figuring out that I could go I started studying), thanks for enjoying the vid! 🙌
These are the original ancient Egyptians descendants
Amazing stuff

VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO.
Nubians are a culture of hospitality and kindness.
He almost lost his hand. 🤭
actually just found a new home.
You are literally talking to the ancient Egyptians.
no he’s talking to Nubians
They are the real Egyptians
What kind of camera did u use ?
For this video I used both a Lumix G7 and the GoPro Hero 9 thanks to a subscriber
