Great video Brad! Just was curious to find out don't you get the Black 5 series estates to pick you up if your travelling Business on Emirates? I've recently moved from Marina to JLT and travel to the UK once every 2 weeks.
Hey! It’s because when uses points to upgrade to business it’s slightly different and you don’t get the transfer included 😭 but the credit card does allow you 5 transfers a year
@@LeaderOfNoOne As I work in the UK and live in Dubai I am unable to get the Emirates credit cards, the only credit card I am able to get in Dubai (and have it) is the HSBC Premier credit card as I am a Premier customer in 3 markets of HSBC :) Thank you for your reply Brad!
Ok, so this credit card, did you get it in Dubai or can you get it in UK? UK banks are rubbish compared to the banks in Dubai. Even HSBC in Dubai is better than HSBC in UK. UK residents just don't know the difference between banks in Dubai vs. UK, Dubai banks are much better.
@@LeaderOfNoOne I thought you may say that. Oh well, I'll sort it later. InshaAllah, I'll visit later this year to sort things out. From The Entertainer 2 for 1s in restaurants, to vouchers with AED 100 off from electronic stores, to deals on cars, which they'd bring to Emar Square, HSBC Dubai wins. I'm not biased just because they entered me into a prize draw because I took out credit cards (which I always pay off in full), for an Apple watch and iPhone (6 or 7 at the time) either...which I happened to win 😄
Hey mate, just out of curiosity how much did you spend to get this? Is there a little shortcut or cheat around it to built up miles quicker lol? Also, once you use skyward miles, does it then decrease? Finally, how many skyward miles did you need to get business? Thanks and apologies for so many questions
Hey! You’ll get bonus miles for joining etc so that helps. International spends are double! So don’t take cash when you travel and use the card - the conversion rates are good and there’s not fees as it’s an international card. Around 30k miles to upgrade from economy to bussiness on this flight. After buying an economy flex ticket
@@LeaderOfNoOne you would disclose if this was a promotional video right? Not saying it is, not saying there's anything wrong or that you have to, of course, but it would be nice 😅
This needs some clarification. A Skyward mile is worth anywhere between 0.01 and 0.05 USD, let's take an average of 0.03 USD. A flight to Manila in business class, departing on Oct 25, is ~2700 USD. That means you'd need around 90k miles. Each USD spent on the ENBD Skyward Infinite card gives you at most 2 miles (or 1.5 or even just 1 on some type of purchases), meaning you need to spend something like 45k USD to get to the miles required to fly business to Manila (on a relatively cheap flight). So "all you need to do is spend ***loads*** of money" is absolutely true :)
This is correct BUT we always buy a standard economy flight and use the miles to upgrade to business - which for this flight was 30,000 miles. This is the most effective way. NEVER use points to buy flights - it devalues then LOADS
I spend $20-30k /m on my airmiles card and get maybe 1 cheap flight each 3rd month tops. But you’re saying to PAY for the cheap flight and UPGRADE the difference and I’ll score one biz class upgrade a month ? So $600 business class seat per month at $25k spend ?
100% don’t use the point to buy flights. It devalues them LOADS. Buy an economy “Flex” ticket (that cost less miles to upgrade) and you’ll be all good!

I have the feeling that is or used as a corporate card. Unless he spent all the miles he accumulated in 5 years on a couple of flights. I don't mean anything bad by this, it's still a great system. But someone who spends even 5k usd a month will have at most an upgrade a year (on a relatively cheap flight).
@@elchiapp I looked up the card and saw that you need to be making a lot per month to even apply, Either he does or like you say it's a corp card! either way, I think this video is very misleading and click bait ish
@@velyvely6479 I agree on the click bait nature of it. It's not "for free" even because there's always an opportunity cost (what if he had a card with a 1-3% cash back? Would that be enough to fly business?)
@@elchiapp True! There's always some type of cashback cards that give money and not miles. Although it's very hard to compare miles and money that you get back directly it's normally not worth it to get miles instead of some type of percentage. Cashback in terms of miles barely crosses the 0,5% barrier and it's a massive pain to spend it. You can spend hours finding offers on outdated sites from the card providers. Or well, just transfer them to other miles where you either lose or win some percentage. Guess what, you mostly lose. Is it worth getting some type of cashback? Sure, but don't think that miles are "free" since there's other cards giving you unlimited cashback in money form. But I knew a few people that tricked quite a bit to get some more miles. Since a lot of cards that give you cashback in money form have excluded merchants, you generally tend to have more cheating possibilities with miles that don't tend to do that. All depends a bit on the country or region since it's more common in the US to get way more cashback and starting bonuses etc. while Europe is generally not so generous with it. You can basically spend hours and days and weeks to optimize it, find the right card etc. There's even massive forums about it. It never ends lol.
It is not a company card. It is mine. There are many ways to use it to get more miles. If you book emirates flights using it you get extra miles, international spends etc etc. You then book a economy flight and use the miles to upgrade. Also paying for the “flex” economy ticket. I’ve flown a lot this year with emirates and they reward you more then more you fly with them. You also get 30,000miles just for joining the card when you start.
Great video mate! Rewards / Award Seats can't be classified as FREE. Because you need to collect points and the points have a $ value attached to it. Emirates acctually upgrades your for free once in a while for various reasons without having to spend any points at all. Sometimes they are Operational upgrades. Sometimes it's courtesy. For example if you fly from MEL to DXB to CDG, they would sometimes upgrade you DXB to CDG for free. This happen more often when you fly on a flex (Y class) economy ticket.
