The final version has vfx that your guide didn't even cover :( i was hoping it would go from start to the completed version with the bells and whistles to it.
Could you tell us how to implement the effect(on the wall) when the ray gun hit the wall? Or which keyword that I can search for tutorials? Really appreciate that!! Great video!
Ran into this problem in Unity 2019.4. Choose Particles/Standard Surface. Under Rendering Mode, choose Additive. Then put the texture in the Albedo, and check Emission.
I need some help please. I did everything as shown in the video several times but every time when I change the x speed value the texture wont start to move. Instate it just becomes a straight bar. I really dont know how to fix this so please help me. Edit: I found out that some premade textures from shader forge dont have this problem sadly I dont know why mine (also png and basicly everything is the same) have this problem. Edit 2: Fixed it for anyone in the future having trouble with this stuff, check if you have any color differences in your texture. I had none and for some reason these shaders sometimes have trouble with this.
I have a question about this laser. Is it a set distance or is it infinite range? I've always had a problem where my laser has to be a set distance because of I stretch it too far the texture gets stretched out too much.
Hi! How was created your cool distortion effect? I try make distortion in unity 2019, but i can't make shader that distort and background and beam texture =(
Hey Gabe, thank you so much for this tutorial and helping with the Shader Forge thing. How would you attach this to a gun? And used only when the user shoots? You showed us a preview of it here.
@@FuzzyDPozzy Did you try this? The laser loses quality when you're making arcs over long distances.I think it's something that could be corrected with a bigger texture file, but I'm not sure.
Great video Gabriel, You are the master! One problem I'm having...The shader you created in this tut works perfectly for standalone but not at all on my android build. I've added it to Graphics > Always Include Shaders but that didn't help. Any advice?
Thanks man! There's a couple of things you can try. If you are using Shader Forge you could turn on 'Force Shader Model 2.0' in the Experimental panel. You should also include Target Renderers like OpenGL Core 2.0 and 3.0'. Be careful with 'Depth Blend' node by the way. Good Luck!
Thank you for the tips! Checking OpenGL Core 3.0 in Shader Forge fixed it. Probably because in Unity's Player Settings > Other Settings > Rendering i have OpenGLS3 as my only rendering API. Now if only I could get the UI Particles working on mobile builds...
Can you show how to do this with the built-in shader graph? Shader Forge isn't available on the Asset Store anymore and trying to translate is leaving some important steps out. I'm combining these steps with your flame shader tutorial, which has made getting started with shaders really easy! (thank you)
Really cool. But can you do it on the Shader Graph already implemented in Unity? The translation is not that easy and the Shader Forge Asset has been removed from the asset store.
Doesn't work from unity 2018 version forward I believe. Anyway, soon I will make a new tutorial with Unity Shader Graph. Or you can try to remake it yourself in Unity Shader Graph, it's fairly easy. Good luck!
Hey there. Well all you have to do is press 'Clone/Download' in Github and that's it, you get ShaderForge. At the moment I believe there's no other place to download it.
Hey gabriel, I can no longer get shader forge from the asset store and I don't want to upgrade my unity version to 2018 (for shader graph) because I fear I'll break stuff. What should I do?
Hey there. I haven't tested this version, but since it's an older one, it should work in 2017. github.com/jackmott/solescape/tree/master/Assets/ShaderForge Let me know if this helped, good luck.
Well... I just can't obtain this panner effect. I did everything just like you but in the end I don't obtain the scrolling effect. If I modify the value of X or Y it will just shift my texture in that direction, but it doesn't move. Any idea? I didn't find anyone with the same problem on forums. I use unity 5.6.1f1

This tutorial is awesome ... I always wanted to know how to make lasers in unity. You're the best
Amazingly high quality content. Thank you.
You're welcome
Just Downloaded this, amazing!! Exactly what I was looking for
This is so awesome because I was just wondering how I could make sinusoidal beams. Thank you for the tutorial.
You are welcome, enjoy!
Thank you so much! i'll take a look at your courses

Can someone help me? With the material when selecting Particles. I can only choose standard surface of standard unlit

You need to change the texture import settings so that the wrap mode is set to repeat. Then the texture will loop!
Simple and informative. Love it
Excellent video. Thumbs up.

one question, the impact are simple decals?

At the end of the video where the gun fires blue energy, are there separate particles for distortion?
If I remember correctly, it's another line renderer with a distortion shader.
Hey,Gabe My laser is going the opposite direction and I dont know why. I added Negate to it and it fixed it I guess lol

i would love to see that as well, and if he does better mention me xD :P

Could you share the images you created on photoshop?
Refraction, how create refraction with using shader graph? Teach us, please c:
How do you make the Beam effect turn off/on with the Laser ?
Great video!
You are tha best
Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy ;)
Thanks
What is procedure to attach the line render is for a particles system or point of light??
Nice tutorial
Render Forge is no longer supported by unity.... Any Alternatives?
Why need tutorial like this in unreal! Why so hard find tutorial VFX like this in unreal :(
I'm considering making a few tutorials in Unreal in a not so far future.
shaderForge not working with Unity2019 :(
There's a new tutorial coming tomorrow about Laser Beams in Unity Shader Graph. Stay tuned :)

Shader forge is gone for those who haven't downloaded it before being removed :(
-Not to worry! : ) unity3d.com/shader-graph
For those who are still making a project in Unity 2017... it is a worry :'( any good alternative to recommend?

Hey there.

That is plasma gun, not a laser but ok.

When I try to get Unique lasers from the store it says "Needs Unity upgrade to version 2017.2.0"
Hey there, what's the Unity version you are using?
I was using 5.6.3p1 but I switched to the 2017 version you used to upload it and it worked. Thanks anyway
Great, let me know if you need anything else.
Laser sound effects?
YEAH, so much of this is no longer applicable. Doing simple things like trying to assign a texture in the new render system is different
There's a newer Laser tutorial done with Shader Graph, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/mGd3nYXj1Oc/v-deo.html
@@GabrielAguiarProd First of all, thank you for your content. And thanks again for the link to the updated version. You work is excellent.
