Have to say If you love jrpg you should definitely play the trails series I’ve just gotten through the first cold steel and I’m currently on the second and my gosh it’s some of the best jrpg you can play
I recommend you to at least read or watch a summary of previous games(Liberl and Crossbell arcs), all major characters of previous games will come back in following games and you won’t know who they are.
@@JakeEnriquez-vd9el I’m on cold steel 2 act 2 part 3 and what a series so far I’ve had a great time especially when they were on a 20 dollar sale on steam lol really want to pick up reverie and daybreak now
No I would play through ff7 remake before rebirth but I mean they do say you don’t have to play the first but it pretty much shows you why they are on that journey in the first place
You can start with any of these games but avoid ff 7 rebirth as thats a sequel to ff7 remake and like a dragon infinite wealth is the 9th iteration in the series.
@@RighteousMr I mean I feel like you could play through like a dragon and infinite wealth separately from the rest of the games I did and infinite wealth shows a lot of memories from kiryu towards the end as well if you take the time to go around and collect them
@@travisleonhart3371 I mean its up to the player. My personal recommendation is to go through all the main titles as they are all great games. But you could most definitely start with like a dragon as thats the start of ichibans story.
I have some of these games now: eiyuden chronicles 100 heroes, granblue fantasy relink, monster hunter stories 1 & 2 (ps5), trails to daybreak. So much games that it already hurt my wallet lol
@@jackcorrado9691 just being an RPG developed in Japan does not mean is an JRPG at all. Like Nioh, Wo Long or any FromSoftware's games are not JRPG. For example, Chained Echoes and Sea of Stars are JRPGs because they took inspiration from classic JRPG, as many other games. A famous example: Final Fantasy 9 got developed at Hawaii, not in Japan. Or other JRPGs made from Sakaguchi after he founded Mistwalker in Honolulu.
@@jonathancoutlee many RPG made in Japan are not JRPG, as well as there's many JRPG developed outside Japan like: Chained Echoes, Sea of Stars, Child of Light, Undertale, Battle Chasers: Night War, Ruined King, South Park's games and others. I think it's a nice list. There are several games in here I certainly going to play. For me personally, there are two games I really looking forward to, that are not on this list. The first one is Ys X Nordics. I really love the combat in these games, and the story is not bad at all. My personal best of this series was Ys VIII - Lacrimosa Of Dana. That one made a very good impression on me. The second one is The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak. The legend of Heroes is one of those long running series (each game story picks up where the previous game ended, and there are 10 games in total so far, making the new game the 11th one), with a phenomenal world building where even the NPC's have their own story through the games. This new game, however, starts in a completely new region that has never been visited before, and with completely new characters. It could be a good starting point for those that have not played these game series before.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is overrated... too much irrelevant, tedious and boring side content, that has nothing to do with the plot makes it too long. I pllayed alteady 85h and cant wait till i finish it
As usual no one tells you unicorn overlord plays itself only input you have is moving the squad from one spot to another on the map maybe the is more added later to the game play but I gave up and un-installed at the very beginning.

Unicorn Overlord was my favorite this year! I hope they make a second game!
Can't wait for Visions of Mana!
Currently playing Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes. Amazing voice over Japanese or English dubbed.
Are any of these games good if I'm a newcomer to the series or a seasoned veteran?
Granblue relink, if you like hack and slash combat with unique mechanics each character

Been trying to play Granblue for months but it still has this bug on PC regardless of hardware that makes it freeze at the title screen.

Cmon, Rise of the Ronin is not JRPG.
Tecnically both Team Ninja and Sony are two japanese companies so Rise of the Ronin is literally a JRPG
Wtf are you talking about??

Rise of the Ronin seems like a pure action game than an rpg.

I'd like to try visions of mana but it looks way too "cute" 😅 for my taste

Aw I really loved it but to each their own. I loved all the “filler” and the battle system is so addicting. But totally see what you’re saying.
Visions of Monna
*WE SURE EATING GOOD IN 2024*
So you recommend every jrpg released this year so far 😂😂
Visions of Mana hasn't come out.
It definitely lacks shin megami tensei 5 Vengeance in the list and is far more jrpg than a rise of the ronin 😁
