    Forgot to tell the kiddies how you apply this technique as an attacking player.
    You can cross over like you're going outside and around the D, then punch turn to the middle.
    You can also use these with escapes in the corner. Matt Barzal is an absolute master of this. Pull any highlight clips of him and you'll see him utilizing these to shake guys in the corner.

    • @brianbowen74
      @brianbowen74 Рік тому

      yea can you explain the difference. I also play roller and am still ass but I can stop in that. on ice my skates seem like they have no grip or edges and I can't stop

    • @ryancaskey4975
      @ryancaskey4975 Рік тому

      @@brianbowen74 you have to find the point at which your skates allow that glide. I also prefer my skates a little worn down. I don’t like them when they are freshly sharpened. For roller, I swung my legs wide. Ice you just have to get that foot turned and on on the all of the foot. I’m getting there myself but I also only practice during warmups. Stand up against the wall and take your skate push out to the sides and find that spot. That’s what I was doing.

      😂😂 alot of pros change their steel every period so to answer your question prob a few times a week. It is a personal preference tho. For instance I dont like them fresh off the wheel. If i have a game tomorrow i want them sharpened before the last practice i have before the game so i can get an hour on them before trying to make cuts like that.

    • @rossmontreal4570
      @rossmontreal4570 Рік тому +1

      It all depends on what type of stand’s and skill. There are different types of cuts for skates. When I was younger I would sharpen my skates every game. Now in old timers league 4 to 5 games then sharpen. I would use a stone on them to make sure edge is still okay.
