- Skating element: punch turn ( jab turn, tight turn or slide turn)
The punch turn is performed on the outside edge of the skate blade by transferring the player's weight onto it. This allows the player to make an aggressive turn or change direction by up to 180 degrees at high speeds.
Player - Stepan Chukharev drafted by North Bay (OHL) - Спорт
These are the hardest turns to learn imo.
I gonna have to learn that 😂😂😂
Good luck at the camp!
Beautiful
So sharp
That's nice 😲😲😲😲
clean
Still some areas to work on
@@RHAskillsHockey For example?
When I attempt this with the outside edge, it studders/bounces. It seems likes the harder I plant It, the more it bounces. Not easy!
i feel you. I’m injured and as part of my recovery i’m practicing this like crazy. I get better every time but not perfection yet. Good luck, it’s a very hard but useful skill to know
In most case it means rather not enough weight transferred on outside edge, not proper radius of hollow on the blade, or both. Try to do “less bite”
What is the decal on the helmet?
Lol this will help me in games😁😁😁😁😁😁
Do you know where to apply this element?
Tight along the boards where there’s minimal space to evade pressure or shake defender
Is he putting most of his weight on that Outside Edge, or more towards than Inside Edge?
Most of the weight on outside, using to tight turn on the hight speed, limited space, and base movement for some deception moves.
Do you put some of your weight on the stick too?
No, almost 100% of body weight is transferred on outside edge in this element.
Where might the puck be? Is it lost back at the blue line? Players of this caliber waste time by not utilizing a game like condition by skating without the puck. 🤔🙃✌🏻
Glad you ask. It is called progressive skills application. 1. Learn skating skills, add the puck, add obstacles, add game context, add moderated pressure, add full pressure. Don’t make conclusion based on 30 sec video, when player development takes years.
