Unfortunately the 335 and the 340 don’t have an lsd so I’ll have to get one installed if I buy the bmw.
I have a B8 S4 and as commented before, the dynamics are much more subdued than what BMW has to offer. The B8 handles very well, but it feels so numb/neutral compared to the M3's I had before it. The S4 can leave many much more newer/expensive cars comfortably behind but it does it in a very subtle, sleeper style way. It doesn't take much to turn an S4 into a screaming banshee with a decent tune/intake/exhaust. To be honest if you drove a stock 335i or 340i and then got into a sorted S4/5 your mind would be made up. A E9x/F80 M3/4 would be much better if you're looking for "fun". That said though, a 240i is a good buy too, not as good as an M2 but has a lot to offer and the chassis is fantastic. Maintenance is really not that bad on the audi's, and the main potential faults are the PCV system causing high oil consumption and timing chain slap. More so on the B8's as they don't have the non check return valves that stop the chain tensioners from releasing the oil after sitting overnight/long periods. Plenty of early 5/6k oil changes are absolutely essential though, no matter the model. The DSG boxes on the 8.5's are bomb proof as long as they've had the all important fluid changes done, early B8's were known to fail but most of these were recalled and caught in time before the low quality fluid in the mechatronics unit sulphured up and corroded the PCB's. With the above noted please don't let it put you off at least trying one, they are fantastic sleepers with loads of untapped potential but if you are looking for the ultimate combo of the go and show factor then the dynamics of a lot of the higher end BMW 's will definitely check the boxes. Good luck whatever you choose!

@@utiuandy99 No problem bud. Good luck finding a manual though, those are very rare now! Wouldn't worry much about the DSG, they are essentially just a DCT. If you try one issues are easy to spot, look out for jerky downshifts, (with the car both hot and cold) especially 2nd - 1st. Engage reverse/back to drive a few times in a row and listen for strange clunks. A TCU tune can eliminate niggles and extend the life of the box and clutch packs. Tuned cars can give a little bit of clutch slip at WOT but shouldn't be excessive and nothing to worry about. I was worried before getting my 2010 B8 S4 as I had only ever driven manuals, but the DSG has definitely grown on me now, its been running a stage 2+ TVS TCU tune for about 8 months which has totally transformed the way it behaves. In normal drive mode the upshifts are buttery smooth and barely noticeable, makes driving in town much more enjoyable.

When test driving it, pay attention for the gearbox when setting off (does it go from R -> D easily or does it take a while, does it switch smoothly from 1 -> 2 or is there some jerkyness etc.). Also try to give it a test reversing on a small uphill, usually if there is some problem with the gearbox it will have problems reversing on a hill, almost feels like clutch slipping or not fully engaging the reverse gear.

@@sarcastixx74 thanks for the info. Unfortunately an m3/m2 is nowhere near my budget. I would love an m2. I’ll probably go for the 335i or 340i as I already own an f30 and know their issues. I would like to try an s4 as to me it seems like a cooler car compared to the s5. Don’t know a lot about Audi DSG but for the S4 I am mostly looking for a manual.
Which Tuning is that
440hp at Stage 1!? Isn’t that more Stage 2/3? What, both pulleys replaced, air intake, exhaust and remap ECU?
im at 480hp singel pulley cts air intake forge intercooler and stock exhaust.
Stage 2 500hp
@@LukasSRR are we talking about wheel horse power or crank? Cause 3.0 TFSI maxed around 540hp (crank) at Stage 3…..! This engine is quite limited for tuning
@@Deyan741 385whp?
@@RogerGJager 480 at the crank on pump gas. And i think the tuning capability is very good when jumping from 333 to 540 550 at the crank. You can see on this channel 140i stage 3 is also 480 at the crank. And if i put an exhaust im also stage 3 and 500+.
Is this tiptronic or s tronic?
A true beauty of a car only reason why i loev it is because its cheap but powerfull
Sounds nice
Can anyone tell me what tune or upgrade this is and if the supercharger sound is as prominent without it? I’m really thinking I want to get a manual S4 with this engine soon
You will not hear the supercharger whine if it’s stock. For that you need an open air intake, they are very easy to fit, don’t require a tune and cost around £500 for all the kit
@@ipolarisi2381 thanks for the info
@@hunterreeves6525 👍
if it is supercharged how is it a "TFSI" ?
It is
Simply Google TFSI and all will be revealed my friend...
Kompressorumabu?
Had a S4 with the same engine and 460hp. The engine is such a great engine but such a shame that it comes with that dreary DSG gearbox. The biggest nuisance I've experienced with a car I've owned 😅
What do you mean by that?
@@utiuandy99 It's just a very unliable gearbox, at least the S-Tronic in S4 B8 era. Wonderul when it works but when it doesn't it is such a pain in the ass. Also very expensive to fix. I had a VW Golf GTI (2019) which I drove from new to 50.000km and didn't have a problem with the gearbox but then again my father has a DSG on a newer (2021) car and it's already acting up after 30.000km.
@@chuckmynorris thanks for the reply. I am currently looking into buying a s4 b8.5 (I believe), The facelift, or a bmw 335i or 340i. I’ve read about BMW a lot more than Audi so this helps me a lot.
@@utiuandy99 The S4 is such a nice car and if you find it in manual, go for that. If you decide to go for the automatic, make sure it has well documented service history.
@@chuckmynorris thanks for the advice. I can’t seem to find a manual unfortunately. I’ll be sure to check the service history and do these thinks when driving it.
Extremely fast
Dream car
Audi Fans😍
non resonated sounds much better!
I like it, even though I'm a BMW owner.
We can still be friends right ??
:-p
TURBO WHINING SOUND A NIIICE ONE ! 🤩🤩🤤
It’s supercharged not turbocharged
Beautiful car and colour, i had the rs5, just blew up…. Am now in a cls 55 amg supercharged….. its fast…. But feels slow as fuck compared to my rs5.
Turns out my 2nc car gonna be an S5 sleeper now
Saw this yesterday, guys your late to the party!
