I don't know if I can agree that the plot twist of 'your main character who has amnesia turns out to be the orchestra of the evil plot' can really be the best plot twist of all time in an RPG, but each to their own I suppose.
The wonder of the first playthrough is ruined. 3rd time in a row actually. More of that this was a wonderful act of love but at the end she started to fart, puke and scream nonsense so it has finished unexpectedly bad - this is what BG3 experience. At least one onest review from a guy who actually completed the game. Minthara is still not fixed. And all of characters barely give a shit on anything in Act 3.
Since you're doint challenge runs, you should really try PAIN+ runs for thr fitst 3 god of war games. Only a few hundred, maybe, in the world have achieved it.
Few things that made me burnout from this game after 20hrs+ : 1) Lack of QoL in RPG setting. Looting and selling shouldn't be this complicated. People spend hrs looting everything in their map, sorting things out to sell them. The weight system is totally unneccesary too. The general RPG players don't do that anymore in modern RPG games. It's disrespectful to our time. Things like this causes burnout. BG3 needs huge QoL revamp like all camp supplies automatically goes to camp storage, all sellable wares are automatically in separated bag, a loot-all option instead of looting one by one, no weight system etc. The whole mechanic on this is a huge clunky time-wasting & inconvenient mess. 2) The misses in combat mode is more frustrating than fun. Yes, RNG is fun but too much of it kills the excitement. The game is already full of RNGesus. We don't need unneccessary ones. 3) This game doesn't explain their own game properly. I seen too many complaints from first-time gamers who doesn't know how your game works. You need to slow down at the start of the game to give them space to learn. The learning curve is just too steep. Most new players ended up watching hours of youtube guides just to learn about the game. Some others just wasted their purchase and raged quit. Many articles and D&D players misled the RPG community saying that Baldur Gate 3 is similar to Dragon Age games. They're not the same. DA has a smooth experience and comfortable learning curve. BG3 is chaotic and overwhelming if you don't fully understand it's mechanic. There're few more reasons why I feel this game is far from a masterpiece (yet) but it'll be too long to list everything.
Bro for being someone w/ skull kid as ur pfp you havent talked that much about the zelda games other than tears. I wanna hear what you have to say over the other ones
I agree I have I have 350 hours from EA and full release. I said they should have moved like 5 quest around and switch the whole Act 2 and Act 3 around it would've been better. I also hate that they have a Map Marker for "Baldur's Gate" at the end of the lower city making me think there was still gonna be another 20-30 hours. I remember talking with WolfHeartFPS about levels before release he said "what level you think were are going to?" He said I think it's 12 maybe he knew maybe he didn't, but I said level 14 bcus you can get to level 6 by end of Act 1 and when Act 3 started I did 1 battle and was max level for the next like 20-30 hours so my thooughts were valid that it should've been 14 even if they didn't come up with spells and capped you at 12 they should've done 14 at least so you caan multiclass and still get all 3 feats. Still my favorite game and a 10/10 but within that 10/10 Act 1: - 10/10, Act 2: 8/10, Act 3: 6/10.
I agree, I think I would raise act 3 to a 7/10 only because I love the city design and environment detail so much. But 100% same for me. Still my favorite game and it opened the door to CRPGs for me but it has flaws and some of them are glaring.
Funny, I had barely any bugs at all. My only issues were performance in act 3 which they have since addressed with patches. Have you tried it since the latest patch that was released a couple days ago?
Another Feeble King crique let's go. This time it's for a game that I will probably never play. It's interesting watching your critques from a different perspective. I found the video pretty hard to follow since I hadn't played the game before; I think this is part of what makes other channels like Joseph Anderson more popular. They make their critiques easy to follow even if you've never played the game. Even though your critiques are generally more researched, offer more nuanced analysis, and are just generally better, I don't think your channel will blow up until you make your videos more accessible.
I also haven't played the game, but I found it mostly cohesive. Sure, it's hard to follow along with the story, but that doesn't really matter for the general point of "story good in act 1/2 and not so good in act 3". Other than that, it's fairly easy to see the bugs and understand the idea of art vs product, so, if you don't mind me asking, what was so confusing? Also, channels like Joseph Anderson are more focused on reviewing games far more in depth. This can be good if you are making a video about why Baldur's Gate 3 is very good, but for this topic of "it's unfinished" there isn't that much to say. I think the video already does a decent job of balancing giving context and opinions. Beyond an arguable lack of context, I think this video is pretty similar in accessibility to those types of channels. Overall, I like your type of comment for constructive feedback and I think your opinion is valid to take into account for the creator, but I'd like you to elaborate further. Dare I say that your comment is a bit hard to follow?
@@Rock6Sixes lmao at the end. Overall I got his point about act 3 being unfinished and whether or not that was the right or correct thing to do. It was mainly him recounting the story that I think was off. If you've played the game it seems kinda unnecessary to recount the story, so I guess it's there for people who didn't play the game. Except, I didnt play the game and had a hard time following his recount of the story. One thing that especially confused me was who the emperor was. I had to rewatch the video to realize that he was pretending to be that other guy. I felt the average viewer in this situation would have just said "idk what he's talking about" and clicked off.
@@TheAlex010 Hmm, you got me there, I would also agree that it's a bad middle between explaining to new players and recounting to old. I will say that not understanding the story doesn't usually mean clicking off, it's moreso that you give up and keep lazily watching until the video talks about something you understand better, at least from my experience. I do believe that better understanding your target audience here is the takeaway or at least how your content affects the audiences you have. Thanks for the clarification.
I like how this video talks about this. Not that I've watched it or anything. Definitely a game. Can't wait for the next review on Todd Howards newest game, Fallout in Space.
I do have high hopes for dlcs and mods to make this game even grander and more amazing. Absolute 10/10 game! Even better than RDR2 which is also incredible.
still unfinished, and still not as good as Tears of the Kingdom, but the hivemind that is the gaming audince will forcefully award it the GOTY, even tho Zelda is far superior in every sense that matters when it comes to a game being a game. And no im no BG3 hater, since i loved Larian games, but i dont like this double standard we are applying to BG3, where we say "should be the new standard" when it does the exact same as the standard by releasing unfinished games, and theyve done this in the past... You know what game wasnt unfinished on release, and a far superior game? Tears of the Kingdom.
@@ronthorn3 that's the most dishonest horseshit ppl throw around. And even if it was (which it isnt) woiuld still be a thousand times better than the normie trash that BG3 is. It is meassurable. Just ask.
I gotta say act 3 starts getting bad as soon as you enter the lower city. I'd say my own "out of body experience" was Gauntlet of Shar up to Wyrms Rest. after that the game just falls flat on its face. And becomes an unfinished mess. But i do not believe that i'll blame the developers for it. It probably has to do with shareholders pushing it so Larian deserves a chance to finish the product.
What I disliked in Baldur's gate 3 and which got me kinda mad at the game, were some parts with straight-up ridiculously buffed up enemies like that one tiefling barbarian in the goblin stronghold, or the bulette in the underdark. These two enemies made me so mad at the game because I had little to no counter to such really strong foes
That's a hob goblin lol. You have to use the rafters or the explosive barrels you find elsewhere in the stronghold, and you can flee from the bulette. Until you're a higher level.
Based on my personal experience with the game i have to wholeheartedly disagree, i never ran into any technical issue when it comes to bugs or anything really, maybe im one of the lucky few but my 100% experience felt fleshed out through and through, it catered all my needs when it comes to my playstyle of the game and again, 100% every quest thrown my way i never ran into any bugs safe for some color swaps on the portraits from time to time but nothing that hindered my experience through and through
The game has a pacing problem. Act 1 and 2 are so good and have such a good spike in the tension that by that point I didn’t even want to explore the city in act 3, the time for menial side quests for me was over. I think act 2 and 3 should have swapped, kill Orin/Gortash then head to the towers to finish it with a fight with Ketheric and Myrkul. Way more epic that way. But I admit that might of killed the companion’s stories cause they would all end in this hypothetical act 2 and do nothing in the new act 3. But yeah I played DOS2 and Larian has a track record of this. They front loaded that one and I hoped they would learn but they didn’t.
Karlachs engine was 100% repairable but it involved going to the upper city and that was cut from the game. So instead, what we are left with are the default bad endings for Karlach, which were originally the intended outcomes if the player ignored her personal quest and neglected to get her fixed. The plot point where someone has to go mindflayer was dumb. If Orpheus is so powerful that he was able to play a key role in ending the mindflayer empire without needing to become a mindflayer himself, then why wasnt he also powerful enough to tackle a single elder brain? The whole plot point on someone going ilithid in the end felt very forced, contrived, and unnecessary. The game should only force you to go ilithid if you made liberal use of the mind flayer powers and chose to eat a bunch of tadpoles. Needless to say, Larian is 100% working on a definitive edition, which will no doubt restore the upper city, a bunch of cut content, and perhaps even raise the level cap to 15 or 16. I understand that the power scaling of late dnd can get ridiculous and be difficult to balance, but they could easily nerf many of the OP level 7 and 8 spells. They already nerfed the OP low level spells like haste. Why not just nerf / take out the most busted spells?
Dude, they SHOULD'VE DONE IT from the start - release a completed game, how tf we live in a time where it's allowed to scam like that? Like this Karlach quest is a pure rigged bs, you do it - same result, you don't do it - same result And there plenty more quests that are useless and don't affect anything, including the fucking main searching for cure questline that is a fucking joke Game has plenty of content for the sake of content Pathetic, fck Larian, don't care if they work on anything or not, I bought the game and finished it only to see how fcked it is on release, I'm not paying for a game to wait years to actually play it how it supposed to be Stop supporting this bs

I genuinely hate that you love the Iron Throne section, which is by far the worst area in the game. For context it was a very important area in Bg1 that included several tough fights, and for it to be reduced to a timed escort mission with low level enemies is a TERRIBLE exuse to bring it back. They could have made it an interesting dungeon with actual bane cultists but no we got reused enemies.
Genuine hate is crazy. For context: it's a fun and unique quest with interesting mechanics and it was built ON TOP of the original Iron Throne so the name is more of a cute reference rather than anything serious
@@seraphina1724 L take. It is the worst dungeon in the game, timed escort mission with low level enemies instead of a fun crawl. There is nothing "cute" about thrusting annoying mechanics on top of stupid tropes that doesn't do anything to challenge the player in an original way.
I had hopes for it since I played Divinity 2, I have zero knowledge on DND tho, but when I saw the signals of wokeness in the game I knew it would be above average to really good, but leave a bad taste in mouth as well, I'm glad it's not totally woke but it sure tainted the game to me even more, I won't play it but I salso admire the work to make a good game among the mediocre souless game era in triple A, for what I seen n reviews I can the game is a solid 7/10 for it's goods, that's a lot by today standards, I only use this metric to make easier to understand what I can't put in words due lack of vocabulary

I don't know if I can agree that the plot twist of 'your main character who has amnesia turns out to be the orchestra of the evil plot' can really be the best plot twist of all time in an RPG, but each to their own I suppose.
KoToR did that with Revan way back in the daym
The wonder of the first playthrough is ruined. 3rd time in a row actually.
More of that this was a wonderful act of love but at the end she started to fart, puke and scream nonsense so it has finished unexpectedly bad - this is what BG3 experience.
At least one onest review from a guy who actually completed the game.
Minthara is still not fixed.
And all of characters barely give a shit on anything in Act 3.
i wish instead of epilogues that promise dlc, they'd expanded act three to the quality of act 1. i feel like i'm playing a brandon sanderson novel.
Divinity original sin 2 had such a bad 3rd art it soured my whole experience leading up to the 3rd act.
Since you're doint challenge runs, you should really try PAIN+ runs for thr fitst 3 god of war games. Only a few hundred, maybe, in the world have achieved it.
Few things that made me burnout from this game after 20hrs+ :
1) Lack of QoL in RPG setting.
Geez Lois. The uglier cousin of Squidward is trying to get a number one victory royale.
Still getting massive frame drops in act 3 on ps5 and it’s a glitchy mess, especially when you are playing with other people.
My performance actually got significantly worse after they released those patches
Act 3 sequence breaks are bad and inexcusable.
I haven't played divinity two so this weekend I will . Plus Xbox being the idiots they are I can't get this game for my series x 😒. So gotta wait
This game not coming to Xbox has nothing to do with them. It's Larian's incompetence. Game will come to Xbox in a month or two. Stop bitching.
Do you have plans on playing and reviewing AC6?
Need to see an honor mode critisism cause it seems exactly like your challenge.
That's really cool to see. If I replay the game I think I'll do that.
@@Rock6Sixes thanks, nice discussion
I'm glad there are some people who can talk about a game without just yelling
I love this guys channel underrated af
I like how this video talks about this. Not that I've watched it or anything. Definitely a game. Can't wait for the next review on Todd Howards newest game, Fallout in Space.
I'll get that review of Fallout in space out to you asap.
Not worth reviewing lol Its just more post modern trash made for consooomers to slop up
@@Hoonter101 If you're referring to BG3, I completely agree
What video are you gonna do next?
Hi there
Comment
This video is awesome
Do you need to play the first two before 3 to understand the story?
nah you can play it blind.
The games are kinda retconned, I think? Some lore bullshit. Fuck if I know, though.
They’re not really retconned, the lore of the first bhaalspawn is still around
I do have high hopes for dlcs and mods to make this game even grander and more amazing. Absolute 10/10 game! Even better than RDR2 which is also incredible.
Wow, BG3 definitely does not deserve a 10/10, but neither is RDR2 to be frank
What about armored core 6 ?
What about it
still unfinished, and still not as good as Tears of the Kingdom, but the hivemind that is the gaming audince will forcefully award it the GOTY, even tho Zelda is far superior in every sense that matters when it comes to a game being a game.
Tears is meh. It’s breath of the wild 1.3
@@ronthorn3 that's the most dishonest horseshit ppl throw around. And even if it was (which it isnt) woiuld still be a thousand times better than the normie trash that BG3 is. It is meassurable. Just ask.
You nailed it! Keep up the good content.
There's no shareholders, Larian is privately owned. I'd guess it was cashflow.
That bulette was tough
That's a hob goblin lol. You have to use the rafters or the explosive barrels you find elsewhere in the stronghold, and you can flee from the bulette. Until you're a higher level.
since this is my first turned based rpg, i’ll probably have no chance beating them. except closely following a walkthrough.
Based on my personal experience with the game i have to wholeheartedly disagree, i never ran into any technical issue when it comes to bugs or anything really, maybe im one of the lucky few but my 100% experience felt fleshed out through and through, it catered all my needs when it comes to my playstyle of the game and again, 100% every quest thrown my way i never ran into any bugs safe for some color swaps on the portraits from time to time but nothing that hindered my experience through and through
Well I ran into bugs and so did others. So nobody cares you about you lying about the performance 😮
What do you mean unfinished it's a complete game a complete experience
Unfished doesn't mean its not a complete game
Like this Karlach quest is a pure rigged bs, you do it - same result, you don't do it - same result
And there plenty more quests that are useless and don't affect anything, including the fucking main searching for cure questline that is a fucking joke
Game has plenty of content for the sake of content
Pathetic, fck Larian, don't care if they work on anything or not, I bought the game and finished it only to see how fcked it is on release, I'm not paying for a game to wait years to actually play it how it supposed to be
Stop supporting this bs
By the time this was released the most buggs you talk about hasve already been fixed and the upper city missing has been explained...
If you love the combat in this game, you should check divinity out. Both games have even better combat than bg3 in my opinion.
7:05 Save scumming can easily be dealt with. The first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game solved it by having two save files. One as the "main save" and a temporary one allowing the player to save in a dungeon. When loading that save it would be deleted.
On PC you could probably Alt+Tab and copy/paste to restore it, similar to Dark Souls. But if the player is desperate to do that. Let them

The persistent sexually deviancy as in no option to make it clear you are not gay or a lesbo, the intentional immersion breaking destruction of the sword coast by placing all the races together in harmony with the exception of the gythyanki( the sword coast is basically Europe in a fantasy setting other parts of Faerun have places for Africa, Asia, etc., most of the flaming fists are and many other Marshall characters are women as if men and women are the same. Feeble pp😊😊😊
