The lube is for the pressure buttons. You should be using a mild soapy water to fit the suckers and you need to clean the surface of the car before you fit them on it, this makes sure you have a proper seal. I've been using mine for 2 years now and still no issues and I've done loads of miles on it.
Been using the sea suckers on my A5 for a couple of years now mate, they say not to exceed 70mph but I've done 90+ with no problem. Keep the sick content coming.
That lube isn't for the rubber pads btw it's for if you need to service the pump mechanism. I have the Seasucker Minibomber and it's fantastic. Been using it for about 2 years and it's always rock solid.
I have had to replace one of the pump plungers because I accidentally stood on it and snapped it off but other than that, it still works perfectly. As long as you look after it, I think they are pretty fool proof, the pumps themselves only have 3 parts to them, so there's not really a lot that can go wrong. Just make sure to keep the plastic covers on the sucker pads when not in use, as this will stop them warping or getting tiny nicks in them that might compromise the seal. Also, they recommend stripping down all the pads/pumps once every couple of years to clean/lube the pumps, which isn't as much a hassle as it sounds since the mechanism is so simple. Overall, I think it is an excellent product, if a little expensive to get in the UK. You get what you pay for though. Hope that helps.
The supplied silicon lube is not for the sucker but for the pump valve mechanism! The large rubber suckers just need to be cleaned with water and a bit of water before mounting to improve the seal. Now you’ve got silicon oil all over the glass panes. Not good.
Thanks for sharing. My Mercedes wouldn't accept a trunk rack, and I'm not putting a trailer hitch on it. This looked like the best option and all the reviews look amazing. I just got one in the mail today.
@WWF90904 it has it's ups and downs. The hardest part is getting the front wheel through axle in while holding the bike it. It would be simple with two people but for one it is hard as I have to hold the bike and screw in the axle at the same time. Once it's on though it is great.
great solution, I also use the roof rack on bmw 4 series grand coupe, but those need to be stored somewhere, are heavy, high buildup, and installation takes longer. These fellas can be just left in the car and are installed easily. Wondering how fast is still safe and quiet. Roof rack usually super noisy and unsafe at more than 130kmh.
Personally I think it looks sick. A friend in the cycling club has a similar system on his 911 and tourers all over Europe with his bike on the roof.. 👍
Yo that lube is to keep the interior o-rings inside the pumps from cracking and keeping a good seal. You’re supposed to do it as maintenance. Lol window cleaner and a rag to clean the surface will do before instal.
Salvotation Yes, it’s a very good idea to secure the cranks. The rack comes with a orange piece of Velcro to do that. First time I used this rack on my Tesla Model 3, I cracked the glass roof cause the pedal rotated and hit the glass :(
just a suggestion Matt, if you go to use this you should use something to stop the cranks potentially spinning just in case. like tie one side too the frame or something. Last thing you want is scuffed glass
Fair play then mate, beautiful car btw i raced one in my old rs3 a few weeks back. The sound of hell breaking open as he went by me was enough to put me in my place hahaha
Has anyone had any issues with the suction mount being in the glass? Just bought something similar but I’m aftaid of the force that will be extorted on the glass when I got over speed bumps or hit compressions on the motorway
Cool video, btw, can you fit two individual Talons quite easily or would it be better to get the mini-bomber 2 piece in your opinion? I only need the 2nd bike option rarely. Thanks :)
Just looking at getting a CLA AMG estate as this video pops up, strange! Love the C63, got it looking immense lad. I would go C63 but need 4 doors to lug to dogs about.
Dude! So jealous, I have been looking at the seasucker for the last week to go on my impreza they're just so expensive! Hook me up at cost price 😉😉😉 Also if you put the talon on the rear glass and the rear wheel holder on the boot you should be able to still open it and fully open the sunroof!
Cool dude. Good luck!. That's a shame i was hoping to see you kick ass!!!. I am out in the south island for a couple of months and am going to make the trip north to watch next week......this place is a little different from our rainy little island lol.
Amazing engineering, but at that price I'll keep my beautifully engineered Thule 591s. Only benefit to the SeaSuckers is that they come off more easily... but then again, they take longer to put back on. Super-cool engineering though... if you don't mind the price, or maybe only ever carry one bike, a very cool alternative.

I think the lubes are for the pump and you use water for the pads.
damn, my mistake
gotocov wrong
gotocov is right
@gotocov is right. The lube is for maintenance of the pump cylinders. The pads do not need anything to hold to a surface (except being clean).
@@brunochampoux please look at Seasucker's youtube video's
man i would be really interested to hear what Matt thinks about the seasucker two years later after the video was posted!
I spend enough time just staring at my bike. I can't imagine how long I'd stare at my bike on the top of a car like that..
Been using the sea suckers on my A5 for a couple of years now mate, they say not to exceed 70mph but I've done 90+ with no problem. Keep the sick content coming.

Hey man, would you mind letting me know how your minibomber has treated you another 2 years in? Looking at it as an option for the wife and I!

Surely next step is sombody on the bike as you gun the car.
FUN FACT: THEY USED THEM SEA SUCKERS TO LIFT THE GLASS FOR THE SHARD IN LONDON
That car is nasty 🔥🔥🔥
Car sounds wonderful
Haha the lube is for the pistons in the vacuum pumps. RTFM next time ;-)
matt the lube is for the pressy thing to keep them smooth. all you need is water..

You are an inspiration to everyone Matt

How do you like it?
@WWF90904 it has it's ups and downs. The hardest part is getting the front wheel through axle in while holding the bike it. It would be simple with two people but for one it is hard as I have to hold the bike and screw in the axle at the same time. Once it's on though it is great.
Looks so sick, sick bike, sick car
Yaaas I Love how the c63 CHOMPS up the road when you put your foot down!!
Cold engine launch. Goooood

That Bike rack is so damn cool! I think I actually let a squirt of wee out when you launched that car! It sounds insane!
Personally I think it looks sick. A friend in the cycling club has a similar system on his 911 and tourers all over Europe with his bike on the roof.. 👍

This is the perfect idea for my Mustang
That looks sick.
Sick motor mate, ild bring it down a few more ml though if it was mine
Awesome 😎
one thing, might be good to tie the cranks still. in case they spin into the glass. probably wont move but just had that image in my head
Salvotation Yes, it’s a very good idea to secure the cranks. The rack comes with a orange piece of Velcro to do that. First time I used this rack on my Tesla Model 3, I cracked the glass roof cause the pedal rotated and hit the glass :(
Looks amazing matt! Living the dream! Fair play to you mate. Enjoy! Loving the channel 🤘🏻
jamie thorpe cheers Jamie ya legend
That exhaust=Eargasm
Holy crap that thing sounds immense
Oowee that Mercedes is badass
Came for the roof rack, stayed for the car
Crazy exhaust I heard that from around the world.
Car sounds insane!!
It's annoying that the front one isn't in the middle. Use the aerial fin for guidance
the axle holder is offset with the rack, so the bike is central even though the sea sucker isn't, I think.....?
Alex Jarrett the centre axel of the triangle of the sucker is not in the middle
It's a beautiful car anyway Matt!
Love the whip !!!!
just a suggestion Matt, if you go to use this you should use something to stop the cranks potentially spinning just in case. like tie one side too the frame or something. Last thing you want is scuffed glass
DaweBo1 hey dude! I thought the same but actually they don’t hit! It’s close but they can’t touch which is cool
Fair play then mate, beautiful car btw i raced one in my old rs3 a few weeks back. The sound of hell breaking open as he went by me was enough to put me in my place hahaha
That thing is rowdy af 😈
Hey Matt, cool video bro. Bike and car look sik! You should wrap the C63.
djtyler76 what colour bro?! Cheers legend
This would look EVIIL AS, lol. www.beyond.ca/project-black-series-satin-wrap-timelapse/14616.html/c63-black-series-satin-matte-wrap-1
Matt speak to Harry bout wrapping cars he had his done I don’t advise wrapping suck a beautiful car like this
Hope you have plenty of grease in your headset😱 because that beast of a car is going to push it all out. Mental car. Love it 👍
nice dream set up setn a new standard at the trails 👍
Damn Bro, THAT LAUNCH
Nice Video!!
Looks amazing!
Has anyone had any issues with the suction mount being in the glass? Just bought something similar but I’m aftaid of the force that will be extorted on the glass when I got over speed bumps or hit compressions on the motorway
Sick video
I need that!
Why don't you strap the sucker to the rear wheel first then stick it to the car wherever it lands after doing the front?
Was kinda scared that crank was going to spin round and smash the rear window. Looks epic
Sick video🤘🏻
Cool video, btw, can you fit two individual Talons quite easily or would it be better to get the mini-bomber 2 piece in your opinion? I only need the 2nd bike option rarely. Thanks :)
I have used two at once several times so I’d say it works fine, and will be a cleaner look when you’re just carrying the one bike 👍🏼
the dream... so sick
Delighted with my one!
Take the fuse out for the sunroof and bang on 👊🤘🍻
MTB TJ Crash cheers mate!! Didn’t think of that!!
I shall say that is sick... so sick.
Fkn hell..reggie says it all man👍👍
9:11 - 9:17
Best part of video
So sick🔥😍💨
Hows it been holding up?
You sir are seriously mental - I’m not joking, this roof rack is easily more mad than anything I’ve seen you do on a bike.
I only ride park so I only eat drive thru, have to sack it out to get under the maccas max height sign!
Just looking at getting a CLA AMG estate as this video pops up, strange! Love the C63, got it looking immense lad. I would go C63 but need 4 doors to lug to dogs about.
i got the rock bros and they work amazing
Matt you need your badges black on your car now 👍🏻👌
Simon ward I completely agree! For sure next on the list mate thanks!!
Do these only work on a glass roof?
Great solution for a bike rack on glass.
A speed hump might destroy the glass rear window.
Omg it look's so sick !
I want One of those
How you take the suction cups off?
Sounds as good as an SLS GT3 racer 👌
Are you still using this today? Any issues?
you need to do more car video that amg is sound crazy
YOU SHOULD PUT VELCRO AROUND THE CRANKS TO AVOID THEM FROM SNASHING INTO THE GLASS
i checked and it doesnt reach the glass thankfully
ah ok ;)
YOU SHOULD TURN OFF CAPS LOCK AND TURN ON SPELL CHECK.
Holy crap Matt that car sounds insane!!!!! 😮Did you upgrade the exhaust, or is it standard??
Oh ya the sucker are cool as well 😁😁😁
Dude! So jealous, I have been looking at the seasucker for the last week to go on my impreza they're just so expensive! Hook me up at cost price 😉😉😉
Also if you put the talon on the rear glass and the rear wheel holder on the boot you should be able to still open it and fully open the sunroof!
how did he get the bike there without using the sea suckers ?
Yo Matt loving the channel are you competing in crankworx this year?
Mark Stone hey man! Not rotorua but the other ones yes!
Cool dude. Good luck!. That's a shame i was hoping to see you kick ass!!!. I am out in the south island for a couple of months and am going to make the trip north to watch next week......this place is a little different from our rainy little island lol.
You should put two dirt jumpers on the c63
Hahahh u lube the pads
Quality good British humour still stayed on though
You're mad putting a bike on top of such a nice car! Especially when you have the stable lease beast! Still a cool vid! Keep it up 😎
Dude! don't lube the cups, that goo is for the pumps!
Do the pedals or cranks touch the roof if they spin ?
Ashley Gibbons they’re close but they don’t at all mate ni
You just sold me on a c63! I gotta have one now!
Is that lube gonna stain he glass. Like oil does.
Hey when will people be able to buy that bike from Marin
Can this be used with a regular mountain bike?
Work with lefty?
wow the noise is unreal
You should put darker head lights on your car.
Good job lubin up the pads👌🏼🤦🏼♂️
Lmao why you put the lube on the suction caps 😅
More regular uploads please Matt !
Do a video on how you got sponsored
Put the suckeres forward so you can open the boot better
Get a defender or somthing for the bikes ?
I saw that c63 at a meet in January
Awesome
Gaz BMX oi oi savaloy
Charlie Gibson wassup pal!😂
Gaz BMX whats the chances of me finding your comment 😂
Think that's the first time I've heard Scott speak!!!
Amazing engineering, but at that price I'll keep my beautifully engineered Thule 591s.
