@@hinokamikagura998 Because all Bandai wants to do is milk it for all its worth. The Tenkaichi formula that Sparking Zero uses was never meant to be an online game or competitive because it never had those things despite the capability of the PS2 to host it.
Sparking Zero is good, ranked just sucks because everyone uses the cheapest characters so I stay away from it. We need more customization, however everything else is good apart from that.
it’s a fighting game, most people played it for the story and to play it with their friends and the only people still playing it regularly are try hard that complain about try hards
Its not as simple as is X or Y the problem. The game on a mechanical level has regressed compared to its 16 year old predecessor Sparking! Meteor / Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Character Skills such as Afterimage Strike and skills that grant the user Sparking! Mode lack the "Ki Power Down" (aka Ki Sickness) debuff that brought some balance to using the skills recklessly. If the player uses the ultimate attack or drops their Ki down or to zero they will have their charging speed drastically reduced only getting rid of the buff when they reach full Ki again, meaning the skill wouldn't be abused like it is in Sparking! Zero as that would put you at a disadvantage. Following that, Skill count gain is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH further worsening the abused of said character skills as they can very quickly have access to the skill in a short amount of time and use it without consequence. it'd be like if a new pokemon game came out and Hyper Beam didn't have a cooldown turn and its power points increased to 15 it upsets the games balance and allows for easy abuse. Defence mechanics vastly outweigh offence, rewarding passive and defensive play for very little risk (Perception being able to be spammed without consequence, Super Counter and sonic sway being extremely easy to pull off compared to past titles. Z-Counter being very slow, and easy to Z-Counter in succession with no means of exiting the Z-Counter exchange resulting in the "Vanish Wars" where players are tediously stuck in this exchange till someone runs out of Ki, which is odd because Tenkaichi 3 had a solution to this issue being the vanish clash which would trigger after 3 - 4 Z-Counters the player who reacts the fastest and wins the clash wins the engagement Legacy game modes like Mission 100 and Survival are not present with the only offline content options being Episode Battle, and World Tournament / CPU Battles. Episode Battle is lacklustre, the only decent campaigns being Goku, Gohan and MAYBE Trunks' stories, Piccolo and Vegetas are very short for some reason only going up to Buu and the Android saga respectively, and for some reason Jiren and Goku Black have campaigns despite only being an antagonist in one arc??????? World Tournament only has the option of having 8 participants as opposed to BT3s 16 making them very short. Sparking! Zero lacks series Staple maps like Kame House, the Lookout and more (some of which are in the game but not available to the player ie Kame House, The Lookout, Land of the Kais (Universe 10), Space, Mt Paozu) and maps in general, theres a whopping 1 stage pulled from Dragon Ball Super the Tournament of Power stage. Stage destruction is limited to a single stage (Namek) whereas before you could get it on a plethora of stages, even if the ruined planet stage was generic it still allowed the feature to be used more widely, stages currently in game could be made to be destructible given that a damaged and pristine state are present in the game and in episode battle (Cell Games arena destroyed in Gohans story, Tournament of Power (Undamaged) in Multiple characters stories, the City map could transition to "City Ruins" as its stage destruction mechanic yet they are not given that function. Simple features like characters models being deleted after an ultimate attack letting ultimates vaporize the character and make the attack feel accurate and powerful is not present. A large number of Rush Super Attack animations are stiff, short and visually unappealing compared to previous titles which had the attacks have great impact and well placed camera angles that made the attacks exciting and powerful (i.e Ultimate Gohan, Vegeta (Super), Super Saiyan Goku, Bardock, Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Golden Frieza, Super Saiyan God Vegeta, Gohan (Adult) base form). Caulifla is missing her Super Saiyan transformation for some reason, skipping straight to Super Saiyan 2 with her base form voicelines seeming to suggest shes in Super Saiyan form. Despite being advertised as having tons of customization options, very few characters have ANY customization options and the ones that do are restricted to that specific version of the character and even then the variety is very small. Characters don't have at least 1 alternate look minimum to differentiate players characters in a mirror match. Music can't be set to "random" like old games and must be chosen each and every time. Beam Clashes reset to the middle of the map rather than being where the characters were like in past titles while also having numerous bugs (the light that is meant to be under the clashing beams is off to the right side, effects are misplaced), switching, transforming and fusing in the heat of battle is clunky, inefficient, and easy to interrupt causing frustration as the player is not able to control their actions the moment they need to which can result in a loss. Yes players can be a part of the problem, going into the game with a hyper competitive mindset rather than a casual fun one, heavily abusing strong or broken mechanics against other players. BUT while human nature is an aspect that can be a problem, it would be foolish to act like we are solely the problem and the game is perfect while not BAD it is still far from being perfect and has many problems that must be addressed and fixed. The characters don't need to be completely balanced BUT the games mechanics need to be to some extent.
When a community demands something with excessive substance, this is what occurs. Character balance and non-cheesy mechanics were never hallmarks of the Sparking series. Before the game released the producer said it wasn’t meant to be played competitively Fighterz is built for that genre.
We all know ranked is trash it's the community smh not the game in it's entirety but other then that the game is beautiful I feel like I'm really piccolo 😂 we need more single player game modes tho like a tenkaichi use to have.
It was a very fun game for the first couple of weeks but then it just didn’t stick. Most characters play the same, some of the story mode characters were done dirty, there’s not nearly as much customization as they were hinting, and don’t even get me started with online. This game is fun with friends but then again what multiplayer game isn’t? If I play a fighting game, I want to have to learn how a character plays. With Sparking Zero, you basically just learn the core mechanics and you can comfortably play as any character right away.
Eh I don’t take anime games seriously competitively I wanted it for epic story battles or fights with friends. I didn’t get any of that. 😂 The game looks amazing but it was a slideshow story mode where in between I had to cheese supers on ai over and over because they would dodge everything then brutally spam you to death. I had to hear Goku say his ult like 25 times a match. Total waste of my money.
The player match issue you mentioned was spot on. Most games have a quickplay playlist and its absurd that this game focused completely on online play lacks one. The skills that the best characters have are more often than not just broken as hell, and I get why but it doesn't make the game fun. Honestly wish ranked had a dp limiter or something because playing against the same 5 characters is abysmal and a trash learning curve for new players. Lastly, that andriggity 18 had the sauce.
She cooked me good, I had no answer 😭 But yeah I'm really hoping they fix this online experience before it's too late, Bandai makes so much online games for anime and usually the main issue is always netcode so I'm surprised that in this case with their biggest game potentially yet, there's issues like this
@ She confirmed that she’s hidden sleeper with the destructo disc super. I can definitely feel their choppy netcode when I play and honestly makes it Bandai’s fault that neither casuals or competitive players can enjoy the game to its fullest. The only way I can imagine them addressing it is whenever someone points it out in some viral content.
The insta sparking is not an issue, they can't pull it with constant pressure. Also with so many after image strike for 15 seconds for the same amount of skill points you could null sparking offense. The issue with the game is simply the game modes available. It becomes dull very quick...you have no more wishes other than zeni and you unlock everything fairly quickly so zeni becomes useless, hence the wishes too. Kakarot game did it right in the open world, multiple enemies and wishes, maybe even the leveling system and card game option. If it could have the tech and graphics of sparking with the game modes of kakarot. We already don't use L2 in PS for much add that button to lock/unlock into different enemies and make it a 4vs4 or something.
It’s literally the game’s fault. Remember raging blast? Ranked mode didn’t even do DP battles, just did team battles. Why? Because everyone’s STATS were the same! That’s such BASIC logic for ranked mode ffs
The comments are cope af 😭 this game fell off hard. It’s fun with friends but the gameplay gets mad stale after a while, especially at higher comp fights. Start game > charge > get into fight > someone super counters > vanish war & repeat
Honestly I went back to Xenoverse 2 after like 2 weeks. It ain’t even about whether it’s competitive or not. I just like that in XV2, the characters play differently. Sparking Zero characters are way too similar to each other for my tastes. I could disregard the cheapest most scummy and easy to abuse characters and mechanics as long as a majority of the roster feels different.
Bruh 30% and 22% across 2 characters is fucking wild in a game with 182 options, 81 of them being unique characters. I knew everyone just played the same few charactwrs but jfc over 50% of players literally just pick 2 people. Wild. Not like you're helping the problem though lol.
Well actually I came to realize that I had shiny object syndrome by trying to work for a Z rank next to my name but at this point I rather just enjoy the characters they have for us and stay in the lower ranks so it's not as much cheese and sweats I run into 🫡 Dw I'll get that Ribrianne percentage up myself if I have to
The community is shit. I got invited to a party where the dude complained and said he should report me cause i solar flared his broly before he ulted me and missed amd conplained and about me cheesing and not knowing how to combo. Cell jr isnt even op lol
Thr games does need some updates and nerfs but imo its not the game its the community there are to many people trying way to hard to win instead of having fun and I get it no one likes losing but losing and they don't like to switch it up after B rank you will always see the same charcters and teams
You can actually play unranked just fine since you can either create your own lobby and set the player limit, or you can search for a lobby that matches what you want to play. Honestly, the ranked scene is not in a good stat at the moment and while i understand why people are upset with the character diversity, way too many people who claim they want a casual experience play ranked. It's like everyone just forgot what ranked play looks like in any game, not just fighting games. When games get competitive, people will abuse what they can and treat even the smallest advantage like it will make or break the game. I understand there isn't anything to work for in unranked, but is there REALLY anything to work for in ranked? The higher the rank you get, the sweatier things get, people will choose the same stuff since it's the "meta", and all you get is a different rank that sits next to your name. No skins, rewards, item drops or anything to speak of. So I just don't get why, even casuals, treat ranked like it's the only way to play the game.
Couldn't have said it better man! Although what I will say is at least in my case, the problem with unranked is the wait time and matchmaking frequency. Creating lobbies is great when with friends but when it comes to trying to just quickplay online, it fails because even if you set it to one player, your either stuck with that one player which limits the experience you get as far as all the different skillsets out there or you are stuck wasting time creating a new lobby! Having it the same way ranked searches matches it 10x better, so that's also why I think most people play ranked in general
@@Zeral__ I havn't played xv2 in years but last time i did it certainly was delay based which is why i only finished half the missions and pretty much never even touched the pvp.
