Wanted to thank you for the information and files. I ordered the B1 30 a few days ago and waiting for it's arrival. Can't wait to move up to this level of engraver/cutter. I currently use the XTOOL D1 original 10W. Along with Sculpfun S9 5.5W, which is incredibly fine for engraving. Have the AtomStack X20 and just installed the limit switches on it. But what impressed me about the Longer B1, is the power and has everything I need and want in ONE package. Keep your helpful video going, looking forward to seeing MORE. Thank you
Howdy Roger, and thanks for another fantastic video! I just ordered one of these and was curious as to the machine's actual dimensions. I know it boasts a larger cutting area, but seeing if it'll fit in my custom enclosure.
I TRYED TO BURN THIS ON THE BASE I SET MY LONGER RAY 5 10W BUT THE TWO SMALL SCREWS AT THE TOP OF THE LASER HEAD STOP THE LOWERING OF THE LASER HEAD ABOUT 5 ARE 6 MM SHY OF LETTING THE LASER HEAD LOWER TO THE 30MM ADJUSTMENT FOR THE LASER TO WORK.
I just bought the Longer 40w. How do you pinpoint the laser head to an exact position. I don’t see any light until the laser starts engraving, so I’m just guessing it’s exact location. Maybe I just don’t know how to turn the light on (?)
Assuming you are using Lightburn..............In settings, turn on "Enable Laser Fire Button" Then, from the move tab, set power to 1% for the laser fire button.
Check Y axis limit switch both for proper position and connection. X axis frame should contact the limit switch when pulled all the way forward. Some have two sets of holes for the limit on the Y axis and you might have it in the wrong set of holes.

As I recall, there is a second set of screw holes where the head can be mounted lower.

one question... I was told use air assist only when cutting not engraving ??????
Use when engraving, especially on wood or cork, will help keep the lens clean for a longer period between cleanings.
another great video, thank you
Very easy. I made a 410x420mm grid for my B1 30w. Is there an offset to match that?
I have a Longer 5 10W with 410 mm travel
x & Y how do I change the grid program to smaller it keeps giving me an error message.
In Lightburn, edit your laser setting to 400mm (or 15.75" if using SAE). This is done by editing the setup for your model.
I'm a newby this is my first laser it is set at 400mm but when it's going away from me it gives me an error what am i doing wrong ?@@rogersshop
