Hope everyone enjoys the film! Was so much fun to make. I'll be launching the 2024 tours in September. Been doing a lot of tours recently, but my plan going forward is for my trips to be roughly 50/50 between tours and independent trips. Will have to see how that works out next year though with all the big stuff I've got going on ;) Next up on the channel will be the Borneo trip from April.
I love these independent trips! Very charming,, honst and authentic! Last year I was on a 2 month roadtrip all across the USA from New York to San Franciso and I also tried to avoid the crowd. And the best Moments are these which are not planned. I met a lot of random nice people and make new friends and spend hours by talking til the middle of the night In September I will visit the USA again, first a roadtrip with two freinds from Austin to Big Bend and after a road-trip alone from San Diego to Las Vegas. Love this kinda trips. Until then I stay in cold Germany
Such a great production. Very good vibes from the country music - love it! Enjoyed to see your alone time, aswell as when your girlfriend (now fiancee🥳❤️) joined the last part of the roadtrip. I’m currently planning a 2-3 week roadtrip with my parrents (67 & 69) (myself 36). Your gave me great inspiration, but I’m still not sure what to see and what to avoid wasting our time on. I’m an active person who loves hiking, but my dad have had a knee surgery. Any good advices? Best regards from Denmark
Fantastic video- it's refreshing to see a fellow 'normal' person adventuring at an achievable level rather than an influencer. Appreciated the general chat as it helps so much for me who is planning a very similar trip
Really love your videos!! This one in particular was so fun and enjoyable, because you seemed so relaxed. And happy for the simple, little joys of the journey. I appreciate your personality, which means it’s refreshing to watch because you’re not arrogant or boring like some travel UA-camrs.
My son and I just finished a similar trip, and it was amazing. Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, then we flew home from Vegas. From two feet of snow in the Sierras to the CA desert. I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
I don’t even know where to begin. This vlog was sooo wholesome and just perfect. From the the solo moments to the shared moments with you and Jamie.. I had a smile on my face the whole time! Karl, thank you for sharing such a wonderful vlog, I appreciate the effort you put into making them so special. Congratulations to you and Jamie 🥹❤️
What a fantastic film. If I wasn't itching to go to the states again, this certainly has put me over the top. Amazing places and I felt like I was there experiencing it with you. Can't wait to go now 🙂 Thanks for this
Karl and Jaime, thanks for such an amazing video. I have been to all of these places in the past but like Karl, it has been so long. Brings back amazing memories ... thanks again!!!!😊 Kirk
It’s so amazingly great watching someone coming to the U.S (my home country) and experiencing great things in places that feel so far away yet in the same country I live in. I can’t wait to see all these places in the future. Amazing video as always!
What I like about your videos is not only the photography, music, and commentary but also how fresh it is to see someone so honest! I just found you on You Tube and I plan to watch a lot more videos. Thank you!
This was such a treat - surprise film! Loved every minute, especially seeing your time in Death Valley! Massive congratulations to you and Jamie on your engagement - lots of love to you both xxx
Honestly Karl, I think you're the best film maker on youtube, not just for travel. I enjoy (and learn) so much from your movies, time after time. Looking forward to your next advantures!
Honestly Karl the best travel documentary maker. I say that every time but it is true. Inspiring us all to travel more. Currently away myself and so pumped for Borneo and Slovenia and all future projects.
Did not expect that ending.....a beautiful ending to an amazing time.......I love the american southwest....i always feel at peace there.......and ironically, I love Vegas as well.
As a Californian, I've been to all of these places (some multiple times,) but watching it through Karl's lens is the best adventure ever. I didn't make it to Yosemite this spring and it was SO cool to see the falls pumpin'! 🏆🎥
What an awesome surprise video! Still can't believe you film and edit all of this yourself, the quality and the storytelling is amazing. Yosemite is absolutely beautiful and all the extra water was so powerful to see! Utah looks like a dream and Jamie seems like a great travel partner, can't wait to see more of your adventures together! And congratulations on the engagement!
Fall in love with Vermont's beauty! From the Green Mountains to crystal-clear lakes, this state offers endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation.
Something incredibly special that ended with a “Yes”! Congratulations Karl 🎉 Hope Jaime takes part in more of your films in the future and maybe even contribute to the “story telling” too 😊
Almost too beautiful for words and then you added a totally beautiful ending 🥰 Enjoyable from beginning to the end, so a huge thank you for sharing your trip.
Damn, I have followed you since the HK2NY series and the fact that you are still going is truly a proof that this is your passion. I'm not really in to the party stuff that happens when you travel, I wouldn't wanna be there, but your documentaries as a whole is always wholesome and fun to watch.
Hey Karl, California Valley resident here! First comment, though I've watched for years! I've very glad you decided to visit and film our natural parks. Yosemite is only 1.5 hrs away from me but it never loses it's magic for me. Thanks for the showing our parks (Kings and Sequoia included!) as they truly are wonders of the world. I was able to take an early season trip to all 3 this year and beat the crowds during after the historic rainfall this year. I'm glad you were truly able to see the Sierra's at their mightiest and finest!
First time here & definitely a new subscriber. OMG to so much of it all, thank you, thank you so much. ❤ it all & want to do it all ( except drinks we don't, milkshake yes lol). Congratulations on the engagement🎉🎉. I will have to check out other videos to see if you talk about foot gear& clothing to wear, equipment to film or take pictures with & prep for doing the hikes. I love to walk DH not so much. We live in Maine totally different scenery. Thanks again
As the lad y said 'WOW!" A well-put-together retelling of your adventures. I stii think you are one of the best editors of the many movies I have watched on youtube, The ending, was, marvellous and congratulations on your engagement. You look great together, May you have a great life adventuring.
Awww by the end this really got be emotional. I really felt the bond between the group and you gave us everything . The good and the bad . What an amazing part of the world!
When I went to Switzerland I watched some of your videos. Now here you are in three rivers drinking a beer in a place I’ve done the same thing. Unfortunate you missed out on Kings and Sequoia parks. So many beautiful spots
Hi Karl! I've just watched your video. I'm planning my trip for next April, and I think I had seen +15 before, but yours was absolutely the best one. The road, the decisions, the solo moments and the ones shared with jamie.... it's a masterpiece. Thank you for all the information, the decision-making, and the great storytelling. Greetings from Argentina!
I happened to be scrolling through You tube on a cold rainy afternoon. This film was amazing. I got lost in time and enjoyed this trip greatly! I have been to most of these National Parks but since I’m not a hiker I do not get to see what you showed us. Wow thanks for all of this! I felt as if I was right there! 👏
I love your bagpacking solo trip adventure more . Finally ur video done justice to america it's so beautiful ❤ and congratulations on your engagement 🎉
Wow, my wife and I truly enjoyed this amazing video! You captured some amazing parts of this country that we are inspired to visit. Congrats on the engagement also!!really well done!!
Aloha from Hawai'i!!! Just came across this and I simply love it. You took me on a several memorable trips that my In-laws had taken when we had visited them. Mahalo..... (Thank you)
Last month, I did Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, canyonland, Arches, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Great Canyon, Palm Springs, San Diego and Las Vegas (3 weeks trip). This film was a good reminder of some of those places. As usual good job.
UA-cam has suggested a really great video to me. Your documentation of the road trip was a lot of fun. My wife and I were in May, shortly before you, for two weeks on a road trip in the U.S. and have also experienced many beautiful moments. Especially Yosemite National Park was a wonderful highlight and for us the end of our trip. In Vegas we met friends who were on vacation there at the same time. We met them the year before on Fuerteventura and became friends. As you said before. That's what a vacation is all about: great experiences and meeting people. Thank you Karl for this great video. Oh and congratulations to you and Jaime!
Searching for ideas where to travel in the US, I really enjoyed watching your video with a very special surprise ending! Congratulations to you both and greetings from Germany
What a great video. Well filmed and interesting. You and Jamie are so much like my son and fiancé. I really enjoyed the film, and am planning a trip for next year and found this so useful. Fab!
10:20 Awwww man, that sucks about no shuttle to GP. I agree, that trail you were planning on taking, the Panorama Trail, is the best possible way to spend a full day in Yosemite. I've done it before and look forward to doing it again.
did almost the same journey, just a year ago. due to lack of time I was not able to visit everything. I have nostalgia for America. the USA is a continent it is not such a big country. The USA is an open-air museum, compared with Europe. In the USA, everything is vast, big, here at home in Europe, everything is small, and yes, it is the old continent. best wishes.
That was wonderfull Karl. I have visited all those places but such a long time ago so I was reminising whilst enjoying your Vlog. Keep up the great work as I look forward to seeing more in the future and congratulations on your engagement.
Firstly congratulations to you both. Also another great film - I love how even when your plans don't quite work how you expected you just carry on and roll with it to the next thing. Those night shots were epic.
Another great film Karl. Inspirational stuff. You show you don’t always need perfect video quality. Story wins every time and you smash it. 👍 And many congrats to you and Jaime. What a proposal spot!
Congratulations! So happy for you. Thank you for such a great production of your trip out west. Every video you produce makes me want to book a flight to that destination.
Awesome as usual, best part in my opinion was when you were chilling on the Picnic Table with a fire, looking at the Stars. I'm 52 and my knees are shot so I love watching the trips and all the hiking you do. Enjoy it while you're still young and Thank You for showing us all the Beautiful places you go to through your eyes. Congrats on your Engagement and if you're ever in Edmonton let us know, Cheers. 🍻👍🏻❤️

Not sure how I haven't stumbled across you channel before but that was a great first video to be introduced to it. You've certainly given me some inspiration on where to visit in the South West! Congrats on the engagement !
Cheers from Canada. I've been ticking off the US National Parks. Did Yosemite in 2018, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon was Oct 2022. Yellowstone is in my crosshairs maybe next year. Stay safe Karl
Great travel doc. After studying a semester in France and backpacking through Europe, I realized I hadn't seen much of the US. When I returned, I spent two weeks crossing the US and visiting these national parks. This takes me back. Angel's Landing, Zion. Pre-digital cameras. The glamping sunset tracker excursion looked lots of fun, and the drone footages were very cool. And, yes of course, congratulations Karl and Jaime!!
Thanks for the surprise escapism this morning Karl 🤩 I did the Angels Landing hike with Trek America in 2008…. Had absolutely no idea what I was getting into! Lol it’s was very sketchy back then! 😂 Awesome film Karl and Jaime is a natural on camera too 😍
