  • A hike from Goytre Wharf car park to Mynydd Garnclochdy via a beautiful hidden forest valley. Steep mix of ancient woodland and pine forest and meadow flowers very Alpine feel and well away from the tourist trail.

Nature has a way of putting everything into perspective. This video reminds me of the sense of awe I felt during my recent mountain camping adventure. Liked!!!

What a perfect day. Looks like a perfect summers day.
    You were right nobody there.
    Yes the lambs are beautiful.
It was like a golf course.
It's nice sometimes walking on grass like that, easy on the feet.
I like walking the sugarloaf it feels like spongy carpet😁
Bummer hearing about how rough from covid. It was a crazy time.
I've only had it once. 2 years ago I felt awful. Glad you are back fighting fit after having it again. Great walk butty👌

    Hi Adam,
Great video it looks fantastic. I have never investigated this part of the brecon beacons before, next time I am up on the brecons I would like to give this walk ago, however, would you be so kind post the grid reference of the car park and summit. Many thanks Keith

Hi Keith thanks for the message. I’m on holiday in Greece at the moment so don’t have my map with me! The start point is Goytre Wharf car park which is a major tourist car park (for the canal walk) it’s on Google maps. The summit is Mynydd Garnclochdy (however you pronounce that! ) again it’s on the OS map. When I get back I’ll look up the grid references. It’s a nice walk this one and could easily be extended in either direction once up on the ridge to make a long day out if you preferred that. Best wishes, Adam

What a gorgeous area Adam-you returned. Enjoyed that end to end. I don't enjoy the bikers though - that's Wainwright and me. Gotta say it looks a bit like a golf course on top - it would be an awesome one if it included the woodland valley. Ah, lovely place. Have a great week ahead. Mark

Thanks for the comment Mark, yeah Wainwright spoke a lot of sense about the hills, I read his biography was really interesting, good bloke. You’re right that would be an awesome golf course, I used to play loads of golf but have given it up as my addiction to the hill walking has grown stronger, ha ha. Thanks, have a great week ahead too

@@adamradford2285 A pleasure Adam - yeah I'm sure he was a good man. Hey, a good addiction to replace the gold with. I will have a good week. Peace.
