I was gonna get the magpul mags,I wanted the extra assurance of the metal fees lips. This video makes me feel good about getting lancer mags. Great stuff.
will blizard Well, I kinda take that back, 44 mag has NHMTG mags. They are also some of the best ar15 magazines. But hurry, they have been discontinued and the supply is running low.
Im so incredibly tired of having to hear that on like, every gun channel. I've gotten to the point that I play a game with my mouse and see how quickly I can click "skip" once it becomes available.
Can you test these magazines in freezing and sub-freezing temperatures. Also drop test with magazine inserted in the weapon. Some of us live and train in the North. Thank you for your time.
I started using these magazines within the week of their release many years ago. I told everyone back then that they put everything currently available to shame. They use a type of polymer I've never seen used for magazines before. All mine are still flawless while my magpuls are starting to show signs of the plastic aging. Also guys, these are stanag spec as far as I know, so you don't have to worry about them not fitting certain nato platforms.
Hey Sootch, I love your vids. I’ve been watching your stuff for a long time. Just FYI, MidwayUSA has Magpul M3s on sale for $11 and Lancer mags for $12 at the moment. Get them while you can!
Very nice. I think Magpul has pushed everyone to step up their game. I have noticed most magazine manufacturers have made improvements in the last few yrs. That's a win for everyone. Not to many yrs ago the military mags were the only thing you could really count on. Nowadays most AR mags work pretty well. (yes,I know there are exceptions) For the most part you can go out,buy a magazine & count on it working.
When the newest version came out, I got two translucent smoke mags to try out. Loved them more than the Magpul and ordered 40 more! 20 are translucent smoke, the rest are the translucent OD Green!
That opening scene - slappin in the mag, hitting the bolt release, closeup of selector moving to fire, with rock music -- pretty badass man. And you beat the shit outta those mags.
The 48-round mags have been a favorite of 3-gun competitors for years. They work extremely well, but they are not cheap! They are also really long. Lancer makes the best mags on the market in my opinion, but, having said that, if you want more than 30 rounds you'll probably be better off looking at Magpul's new 40rd mag.
These are better then P-Mags in my use/testing. I had 2 pmags split at the spine WITHOUT USE! It was loaded in a vest for 2-3 years. And when magpul acted like I was lying well......it pissed me off. Although I think the gen3 has solved many issues. I still highly recommend lancer. Infact, they (Lancer)sent me a replacement With no questions asked. The reason was it wouldn't drop free. Well I just kept inserting and pulling the mag out and it works now. I informed them that my mag works now and while a free mag would be nice,I can't lie and say my mag doesn't work. He said give me your address I want to send you a lancer patch and sticker. Well....they did alright...along with a brand new translucent L5-AWM. So needless to say you can trust lancer to have your back. I haven't had any falure with the AWM.With the P-Mag my only falure was a failure to lock back on a empty mag and other issues outside the rifle. So they both are incredibly reliable IMO. Just think the AWM edges just above the rest. People need to stop thinking magpul is a holy magazine created by God himself and try these mags. They converted me from Magpul. Honestly now I have a hard time trusting Magpul gen2 because of weird issues I keep having of rounds being jammed in the mag body???l. I had the same problem with the HK polymer AR-15 magazines and 77gr. It jams up and the rounds get stuck. I don't know why I always have the "we never seen or heard of that happening before" issues.... I can't wait to try the g-3 40rd Pmag. THAT has me excited about P-MAGS again. Sorry for writing a book I just wanted to share my experience both good and bad.
my only issue is that the plastic sounds and looks like cheap toy plastic. however, when i was first looking at mags not to long ago with my new ar, i was not very confident about any polymer mag and i still intend to use mostly aluminum but the pmag i bought is nice (i have not had time or money to shoot more than 30 rounds).however i also want to collect a variety of types (and maybe a few different brands of polymer mags) just for some comparison for me and friends who may want to try a variety before they buy any mags.
I've been subscribed to your channel for a number of years now Sootch and I'm fully convinced that you work in retail or have some other kind of sales job. Your reviews are excellent and my wallet hates you. This magazine has 'shut up and take my money' qualities and I can't wait to get a hold of some. Keep up the good work!
I've been using Lancer L5 & L5 AWM magazines along with some Pmags for the last few years, and in my opinion Lancer makes by far the the best magazines on the market! Pmags are good, but Lancers are better.
Just started buying these as they have great reviews and I've read a lot of posts where people say these are the best AR mags available. I got a few dozen Magpul mags too and I like them enough.
I've got one Lancer L5 mag, need to pick more up. I've always been impressd with how they survive torture tests. I think magpul would improve their mags if they added the steel lips like the Lancer mags. the one downside is I like using the ranger floor plates on my GI and Pmags. They won't fit on the older L5 that I have. great video, thank you.
I looked all over for Lancer L5AWMs to no avail. Every place was sold out. Found the HK translucent polymer mag on the HK website and ordered one up. Loaded it. Fired it. Dropped it. Tripped over it. Dropped my case on it's side. Fire it some more. I didn't do any real torture test, just my usual clumsiness, but it held up. Gonna go with HK mags for now. They actually exist. HK releases quality stuff, and they even released it at a reasonable price point, which is very un-HK like of them. Lancers are just something you see in the movies :(
Not a bad test. One of my commanders when I was stationed up in Fort Drum, MY asked me how I was managing to score expert while everyone was having to change magazines that were freezing up on them. I just handed him my magazine and smiled. I have run them over with mil vic's 'much heavier than those in this video' and only one cracked one time. In the extreme cold weather of Wainwright AK to Drum, NY to extreme heat in the middle east mine performed flawlessly. Dirt, mud, ice, throw, dropped it didn't matter. Only one problem, someone stole mine.
I love lancer. I've had tons of problems with pmags and none with lancer. I know pmags seem to work for everyone else, I seem to have constantly have problems with em
Using the magwell/magazine as a forward grip is a good way to ensure that you have malfunctions regardless of the quality of your magazines or how much "torture" they can withstand.
Sootch00 how have these magazines held up. I am wondering about the last 2.5 year. I assume that you have continued to use them. I wondering about a long term durability.
I have some L5's that I've used for over a year, a couple of them stay fully loaded all the time. No issues with any of them. I like them so much that they now make the majority of my mag stash. I have about 45 lancers, 30 Pmags and 35 USGI mags. I like to diversify. Haha
Nice video. I read the torture test on the ar15.com forum, but it's a completely different experience to see a loaded magazine flying through the air, and smashing down onto a concrete driveway. Words fail to capture the painful crunch. And yes, stocking up on politically incorrect rifles and magazines when prices are low is a very good idea. I'll ever forget the '94 AWB, when Glock magazines were $100, and getting a decent AR magazine was surprisingly difficult.
haha that drop test kept going and going. Love this channel. Sometimes I'll just go to your channel and just ley random vids keep playing. Keep it up. Not many good men left these days. Be of good courage!
I use only the new "Lancer AWM"'s for my tactical guns, and for my families AR's. They are the only one that will handle a 225gn. flat nose .300 BLK, subsonic rounds, every time. I trust them absolutely.
Love my Lancer L5 AWM translucent mags.... Like a Bulgarian Circle-10 style poly/steel reinforced mag for the AR, now I need to buy more 30-rounders and some 20-rounders!
Excellent video... For some reason I had the impression of Lancer being cheap junk... Unless that was earlier products or a different Lancer ? I've been using Pmags and Troy Battle mags with good results but am going to try a few of these now too.
What I am trying to say is they have great customer service.Magpul did for things other then a 20 rounder I had an issue with. The M3 is a good mag too.
These lancer l5awm translucent mags go on sale constantly at all the big dealers for $12 each. In fact right now Midway has them for $12 for the smoked translucent 30's
Elite Tactical Systems make a great polymer magazine. Color coded followers. They also have a model with built in couplers to couple multiple mags. I have a 30 round for my .300 BO. Please test out the ETS Group magazine. thanks!
This is the first torture test I've seen since the talk of an AWB I guess no one wanted to potentially destroy what they might not have been able to replace. Thankfully with all that nonsense out of the way I can watch mags get ran over and then function once more!
This looks like a great idea with the steel feed lips, mag catch.. The mags obvioulsy didn't function after the torture test or you would have showed firing it, though still gonna try these mags.
I only wish the L7 for AR308s were cheaper. At $47 a magazine I kept putting it off. Finally ordered one today and if it is amazing I'll end up buying L5s for my AR15.
i don't know... i got 2 of these(30rds) and on the second round it jammed... let off another 2 rds after clearing and it jammed again... i switched to the other brand new lancer mag and after 3 rds it jammed also... now i maintain my ar(sig m400 enhanced/lightly modded) meticulously. the music while dropping the mags really got my tears flowing... We had a moment!!!
I seen this comment as it was happening lol
I was gonna get the magpul mags,I wanted the extra assurance of the metal fees lips. This video makes me feel good about getting lancer mags. Great stuff.
will blizard I got a bunch of these magazines a year or two ago. The best ar15 magazines. Period.
will blizard Well, I kinda take that back, 44 mag has NHMTG mags. They are also some of the best ar15 magazines. But hurry, they have been discontinued and the supply is running low.
I kept hearing the song "I threw it on the ground!" in the slow mo. Great review. I just ordered four of these, so I'm excited!
fullmetalhighfive Welcome to the real world, jackass.
I love the sad music during the torture tests. These mags gave all so that we may have confidence. Beautiful.
Man, if only there was a way to carry a gun on me, so hidden, it was like the footsteps of a Navy Seal...
Jet Diamond Right! 😂 What a lame comercial.
Im so incredibly tired of having to hear that on like, every gun channel. I've gotten to the point that I play a game with my mouse and see how quickly I can click "skip" once it becomes available.
Hahahahahaha
I am relating real hard
Can you test these magazines in freezing and sub-freezing temperatures. Also drop test with magazine inserted in the weapon. Some of us live and train in the North. Thank you for your time.
I love the music and slow motion during the mag throwing scene. LOL!
I've been using Lancer mags for a little over a decade now and I love them
We NEED some AK 74 mags from these guys! Reinforced translucent and readily available AK 545 mags, oh yes please!
I want some 47 Mags! Wish they made 762x39 mags...
@@jacoblankford2517 they do now
Talk to Xtech. Maybe they'll listen.
Or you could just buy Bakelite.

4:35 When you try to see if your magazines will break and you end up taking chunks out of your concrete driveway...
That mag dropping montage with the dramatic music in the background had me dying laughing

I picked up a few 20 and 30 rounders quite some time ago great mags. Btw great video sootch as always!
Now .................... this is a real torture test !!!!
Those drop tests give new meaning to the term, "throwing lead."
Great video. Nice touch with the sad music, when you drop tested the mags! lol. Also, nice rifles you got there! Especially that suppressed one.
I really like the Lancers. More so than the sacred P-Mags and other all poly mags.
Watching young sootch yeeting lancer mags across the driveway to titanic music is the most clutch thing I’ve seen 😂🤣
By far one of the best mags out there, i love mine , and like that you can keep them loaded without fear of deforming the lips.
Love the elevator music during the mag drops. Classy!
So glad I found your channel. I have been thinking it's time to stock mags and your review was just excellent.

Birthday present or a Christmas gift! Decisions decisions! Thanks for posting this!
Lancer L5AWM mags are as good as it gets. Strong, light and cost-effective.

So glad I found Your site, feel so much better about my Lancers. No fear of Lancers will get you killed.....
I only buy lancer for most of my gear. Good video.
Don, thanks for an excellent review !

I love lancer. I've had tons of problems with pmags and none with lancer. I know pmags seem to work for everyone else, I seem to have constantly have problems with em

+TheGearTester they are top notch quality, believe me they will quickly become your go to magazines
Such soothing music for a magazine torture test. Nice mix.
Tactical Flip Flops! LOL! Great review!
Great video Sootch00!

Fantastic review as usual, thanks for the great info. Oh and I am glad you beat up your mags so I don't have to.
I love Lancers! I'm slowly replacing all of my Pmags with Lancers as I find them on sale.
Great thorough review!
Great review Sootch!
haha that drop test kept going and going. Love this channel. Sometimes I'll just go to your channel and just ley random vids keep playing. Keep it up. Not many good men left these days. Be of good courage!
Nothing as calming as lord of the rings music as magazines are being tossed down the driveway.

Great review! Thanks for a great video as always.
Great vid Sootch!
Most fun mag review ever!
Solid video what type of camera do you use to film?
great review !! God bless sir keep the great reviews and videos coming
Love my Lancer L5 AWM translucent mags.... Like a Bulgarian Circle-10 style poly/steel reinforced mag for the AR, now I need to buy more 30-rounders and some 20-rounders!
Very helpful review, I was considering these. I will pick up a couple and give them a try. Many thanks-
Thanks for the tip... I picked up a few from Lancer's web site directly... odd lot... Now I just need some time to go test'em.
Excellent video... For some reason I had the impression of Lancer being cheap junk... Unless that was earlier products or a different Lancer ? I've been using Pmags and Troy Battle mags with good results but am going to try a few of these now too.
Cool mags, love the Windham Weaponry rifle.
Nice mag review. Thank you for the info and your time.
Love your video's! I noticed on your windham weaponry AR you had a flash light mounted to the barrel. What kind of light system is that?
What I am trying to say is they have great customer service.Magpul did for things other then a 20 rounder I had an issue with. The M3 is a good mag too.
Being translucent is a really cool feature. Can't have enough mags :)
Boy you really beat the whatever out of that mag. Awesome review.
Nice review as always.
Had these mags for about a year. I like them as much if not a bit more than Pmags.
I get lancer mags for $10 a piece for the opaque and $14 for the translucent
last week?
+Vince Romano wha? I get Pmags and lancers at a discount from DSG with my military discount. Only $10.50 for black lancers and $11 for gen 3 Pmags
ahh I was like where is that deal at :) That is a pretty good discount! I'm not Mil or LE....just help train them, so no discount
+Vince Romano used to get free shipping with $50 purchase, but now it's $100
These lancer l5awm translucent mags go on sale constantly at all the big dealers for $12 each. In fact right now Midway has them for $12 for the smoked translucent 30's
just secured 5 of these bad boys ..... thanks brother
Damn, what a great channel.
Great vid ! What are your thoughts on your windham? That make a great vid :)
Nice review on the competition magazine there Sootch ;0-
love the review thanks brother - looks like I'm going to add the lancer mag to my supply
Nice Review & Torture Test! Just ordered me a translucent red magazine for my AR.
Nice vid as always Sootch00 :) would it hurt you too much inside to do a P-mag torture test for comparison?
Solid review. Thanks a lot. I just found some of these for $10 a piece online. Might have to pick some up
Very nice review.
Thankfully with all that nonsense out of the way I can watch mags get ran over and then function once more!
another great review. thx
Poor top cartridge getting ejected! Thanks for the review. Seen these at the local gun store but always gravitated towards the Magpul mags.
scotch; you're awesome bro man👍keep it up
They look great! I'm curious to see how reliable the 48 rounders are going to be!
This looks like a great idea with the steel feed lips, mag catch.. The mags obvioulsy didn't function after the torture test or you would have showed firing it, though still gonna try these mags.
Great review.
I only wish the L7 for AR308s were cheaper. At $47 a magazine I kept putting it off. Finally ordered one today and if it is amazing I'll end up buying L5s for my AR15.
For me Lancer, Magpul and Tapco gen 2
Great video. I have Lancer magazines. Very good magazines.
Awesome review!!
I like the Lancers the best, own 20 of them :D
Lancer is the best for all ar15 calibers. The only ones i could get to work 100% with 458 socom.
The thought of another ammo scare is crazy to think about.
i don't know... i got 2 of these(30rds) and on the second round it jammed... let off another 2 rds after clearing and it jammed again... i switched to the other brand new lancer mag and after 3 rds it jammed also... now i maintain my ar(sig m400 enhanced/lightly modded) meticulously. I got it in may of 2016 and in that time ive fired 700 rounds using pmags with not one failure... not a single one. That is until i tried these lancer mags... magpul pmags for me...
Lancer had a recall on mags dated March of 2015 I believe. It had something to do with the follower I believe. Maybe that is the issue?
+Matt Pascoe hmm, i wasn't aware of that, could very well be the explanation as i literally think im the only one ive ever heard of with failures using lancer mags... thanks.
+BOSS 350z
you're not the only one, a guy posted a video with a similar issue to what you described saying that the mags could cost lives. from what I understand, just send the mag back to Lancer and they will take care of it.
It's raining mags, hallelujah!
Nice windham! I gots an OG bushmaster carry handle though 😏
I must say, I prefer these magazine over PMAGs. They feed better, and are just as strong if not stronger.
Looking forward to your review of the Windham.
