34yrs after the original release of of People get Ready by Jeff and Rod on Jeffs LP Flash and they both sound great. I've always loved their version of this song and it's great to see it done live.
I always loved the studio version of people Get Ready when it was released during the mid 1980's on The Jeff Beck album/CD Flash, and I always wanted to hear a live cut featuring Rod singing and Jeff Beck on guitar and here it is. It Doesn't get better than this.Love It !
Since the death of Jeff Beck, some days it hard for me to look at him perform.💔 He really was just a phenomenal guitarist and Rod you're a great vocalist. Put the two of you together and you get musical perfection❤❤💔💔
Jeff Beck is an outstandig guitar hero. I was there and I didn`t realize the mistakes he made up to the point I saw this video. No problem for the real fans. The whole set was fantastic. We enjoyed the show that much.
Jeff Beck deserves his ranking as the 5th greatest guitarist in Rock. The chemistry between Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck is intense. Thank you for posting this great song that is better than the original composer. I have become an instant subscriber!!
@@stratmagic6893 DJGerry is referring to Rolling Stones poll. Their top 5: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, THEN Jeff Beck. My top 5: Jeff Beck, Steve Morse, Jimmy Page, Steve Howe, Gary Moore. BTW, I was at this show as well. My impression: Disappointed. Not in Jeff's playing or song selection. It was brilliant & well thought out. My problem was show was billed as an evening with both. I was under impression Jeff & his current exceptional lineup were to be the opening act. Never materialized. Rod said in the concert it was 3rd time playing HB this year. I am going to guess he only had about half of the tickets sold before it was announced JB & he would do some songs together. I was pissed as well as other JB fans because we kind of felt short changed.
Don't go pissed, I have seen Rod a few times like that then can't remember the show! Just get slightly merry as it is always a party atmosphere, at his gigs!
Did any of you imagine them doing this together after 30+ years? I didn’t think this was particularly impressive but very much on the contrary when you consider at one time, most guys their age had not performed for 25-30 years! There’s still something quite magical that happens when these 2 come together, it’s just all too infrequent
Jeff and Rod have made some memorable music together, but on stage, they've never been the type guitarist/singer who interacted with each other, the way many of their peers did. I notice that here, too.
@@ricofama1785it's the same if it's from a lead or radio tx! Not having leads means that they won't get tangled up, and the guitarist can go to the extremes of the stage and even into the audience for a more exciting concert!
I believe Beck usually uses a lead/cord. I’m not sure but my guess would be that he is such a stickler for tone that he just feels that by using a lead there is less chance that he will degrade the tone or signal that he’s trying to achieve. Just a guess on my part
Just as I suspected, everything about it is wrong. If you had shown this video to the members of the Jeff Beck Group in about 1968, they'd have been appalled. The physical location may be the Hollywood Bowl, but this looks like the Jeff Beck Group does Vegas. Yeah folks, don't anyone get the impression this is anything close to the snarling blues/rock they once did. I get that some will defend it as a different time and all that, and that this is just two of the members getting back together for a night, but what value does it have if it is so watered down as to have virtually no resemblance to what made them so groundbreaking back then?
I understand your opinion very well. But still the sound is great and both are now well over 70. Can't blame them doing it this way. And I am glad I could get this glimpse here down in Germany. Thanks for the upload.
@@dirkmuc1 Ever see Neil Young? In his mid-seventies like these guys. Still keeps it real, no Vegas crap. Saw Midnight Oil in Berlin; they're in their sixties, but rocked the house, no Vegas crap. Some artists keep it real. Sadly, most become hollow versions of their past.
Oh My God. Dreadful. How about the end there, where Beck forgets what to play (about 4:14 in)? How about the crazy dyed hair? And Stewart looks for all the world like some lost old grandma, looking forlornly at Beck, hoping they'll both remember why they're there. Jesus!

R.I.P JEFF!!!!! I KNOW YOU ARE ON THAT TRAIN AND IT'S PULLED INTO HEAVENS GATE🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was there! Jeff the aloof guitar god, Rod Still belting out. It was a great show.
Rod’s voice sounds amazing 🖤✨
OMG 2019 and these 2 look and sound this good...No words
Just shows how good rod can be wish he would do more blues &rock
Jeff Beck my guitarman pure magic.

God level guitar! Mr Beck I worship thee!

Wow! The timeless classic!
One of my favorite songs Curtis Mayfield done proud

Buona fortuna bellissimo buon lavoro

Nice quality video footage. I am a new subscriber to your channel!! I got to see the show and it was historic. They all sounded great!!
"I'm ready"
Rest In Peace Jeff Beck.
I was there!! Great concert!!
Loving Jeffs hat.
he's had it since the 60's.......

Damn...jeff went from pretty great to wtf? A few times. That change was killing him 😆 even the best can get lost in a solo
Jeff Beck has definitely risen the standard 🎸🎵🎶 especially since he went with Fender strat 🎸🎶🎵👍💯❗
"He's pretty good, isn't he?"
Yeah, pretty good, now you mention it...
Are you sure Jeff Beck is 75? He looks in his 50s. Maybe it’s cuz he didn’t drown in drugs in 70s
Nothing "aloof" about Jeff Beck. He is simply a guitar innovator.
If I was on stage with the master, I would show a little enthusiasm.
Was there
Sei stupendo come stai bene buona notte amore 💘 💘 💘 💘
Jeff, Holly fkkk !
They’ve lowered the key from their original version to compensate for Rod’s loss off range. Still pretty good though.
Does rod steward have purple hair?
2:19 :]
hes pretty good isnt he lol! ya just a little
I love Jeff ,but not comfortable in this messy monitor mix,and you can tell.
Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart is ok together but I don't think Jeff Beck needs a vocal when he has his 🎸🎵🎶. Personally like Jeff without vocals
Where was johhny?
Jeff's using guitar lead, which is unusual these days, fantastic performance however!
Ya I noticed that too ...not as melodic....
