I think the scariest parts are the lifts bc the first one the only thing holding you is that seat or you will fall and the 2nd one is just hard to explain
@Finesse 100% I went to silverwood for the first time a few days ago for a band competition and I went on aftershock and i hated going up, it always felt like you're gonna fall out
@@spr1nt327 Well, I'm guessing you're there rn because you responded to my comment 2 days ago. But yes, at first it's scary but your adrenaline will start pumping and you'll want to do it over and over again
I’m never scared of roller coasters and still never scared me, but every single time before it drops you backwards I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME I rode it I would start getting tunnel vision about to black out and start breathing heavily with my uncle beside me hysterically laughing cause we went on it about 5-7 times and it happened every damn time. Almost black out at the very top before it pulls you back down backwards and then I’d like come back to my senses. It was intense as hell. The word Aftershock is a great name for it.
I nearly passed out on this, that feeling in the stomach is strong on me, it hurts. But other than that, it was pretty fun! Terrifying hanging from the drops like that though, felt like I was about to fall to my death!
Same! I've never been so shaken up by a coaster. I think the final half backward and being on the outside is what got me. I had to start doing like G-Force breathing excercises on it. I was front seated (on the wing), so I got the worst of it on the way back. Also this video doesn't show them suspending the riders for a second or two before the initial drop, that was the most terrifying part. this one seems more seamless.
I am going to silver wood in 8 days and I remembered exactly last year I went to silver wood and when I went on the after shock, I felt like my brain was about to explode!😁😃
To anyone who goes on this ride, here is a tip. Pick a side and glue your head to it to prevent your head from rattling around. And keep your feet off the platform in front of you.
Most intense ride ive ever been on. Vekoma went HARD when they made these models. And this one is so insanely well maintained. Its high time to plan a trip back
I want one over here at the home of Vekoma, seems like great fun. Although I'm afraid the ride's capacity isn't all that great for a busy park like Walibi NL.
Those who went to Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Magic Mountain, or Six Flags Over Georgia in the early-to-mid '00s will probably think, "Deja Vu; I've just been on this ride before...."
Yes I road Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. That they moved out to a different Six Flags? Cuz I know that in the winter months like in October and November and stuff cuz Six Flags Magic Mountain was open the ride didn't really do well in the cold weather even though it wasn't super cold it just was having problems so they moved it I thought to another Six Flags park thats seasonal.
@@AttractionSpot Yeah, the one at Magic Mountain was moved to SF New England as Goliath. They changed the restraints and the trains, and apparently it wasn't a good change. Goliath recently got removed from that park. Interestingly, Magic Mountain's version of Deja Vu lasted longer than the others; the ones at Over Georgia and SF Great America were removed in 2007, while Magic Mountain's wasn't moved until 2011. Aftershock at Silverwood was originally the Deja Vu from Six Flags Great America.
@@AttractionSpot That's a shame because it's such a fun ride. Apparently a maintenance nightmare, but a fun ride. The one ride I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to get the front seat because it's actually worth it
Everyone has different opinions on aftershock but it's really not as scary as it looks. It was scary for me going up cause it's high but once it goes down your adrenaline rush comes and the ride becomes actully really fun. The ride is really smooth and it kinda feels like your flying. I rode it twice in a row and now it's my second favorite ride. You may not end up likeing it or you do but you dont know till you try.
Oh I agree. The part that scares me the most waa going up, especially because it feels like your gonna fall out of your seat and they keep you hanging for a good 10 seconds, the rest of it is fun as hell though
One time I went to silverwood for a field trip and so my chaperone went on this ride and he stoped his phone while he was going backwards then when he got off someone grabbed it for him and his phone was perfectly fine no cracks or anything
I rode this and loved it.. is there any difference between this and Goliath at Six Flags New England? I don’t mean that in a bad way, I’m genuinely curious
well there used to be a lot in the us; for example, six flags great America sold this ride to this park, but they got rid of them because it’s too much maintenance.
Just rode this today for the first and last time! Yep. Watching this made me nauseous again.. I only watch this because I had my eyes closed the whole time while I was on it.
When I went with my friend they tried to get me to go in it,which I didn't because the look of it just freaked me out way to much. Watching footage ,it doesn't look as bad...so I may, just maybe will go on it next time I go to silverwood. It's the only roller coaster there I haven't been on
The corkscrew used to be at knotts berry farm here in California. It was cool to see it again after so many years when we visited Silverwood in 2016. Growing up near Disneyland and six flags Magic mountain I wasn’t expecting to be impressed at all by Silverwood. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice park.
Guys I found it most effective to close your eyes right when your drop down on the first part and don’t open them till you stop 😌✨ that’s the only way I survived Also pick the inside car always

I've been to Silverwood plenty of times but NEVER ridden Aftershock. I MAYBE could do it if I was going forward the whole time BUT I REFUSE to go backwards half the time. I KNOW I would puke my guts up.
The first time I ever rode this, it broke down. The girl to the left above me needed to go to the bathroom so bad once we got stuck to 💀 (all it really did is once it got to the end of the ride, it didn’t slow down but it went super fast instead so we really just had to rock it out)
I went here for my sixth grade graduation trip and sadly I didn't get to go on Aftershock because it was closed for bad weather and I want to go on it next time I go it looks scary though but if I could survive spin cycle then I can survive this plus I heard it's not as bad as it looks
Aftershock is a lot more exciting than it looks. Especially the initial drop, which lasts a lot longer than you expect it to. It's definitely a really good ride. I think it's better than spin cycle, spin cycle made me want to throw up and didn't feel as intense. It's probably my second favorite at Silverwood behind Tremors.
