These are my first impressions & unboxing of the $199 Gretsch G2215-P90 Streamliner Junior Jet Club electric guitar
Beautiful looking guitar! Usually it's on sale for $300-$350, but Adorama is having a blowout. I talk about why in the video.
Anyway, this was setup fairly well out of the box and I like how it sounds. Unfortunately, I had my amp too quiet so this sound demo is especially bad. Subscribe to get the real review and sound demo!

I just picked up the dual humbucker model and love the number of tones you can get out of it. Borderline more useful than a tele is.

One thing I’ve heard some folks complain about is that the broadtron is too “weak”. But adjusting its height closer to the strings seems to make a noticeable difference.
Interesting! Sounds good to me so far but it is quieter than the P-90. Like you said, simple adjustment to change that if it's important to anyone

I got one a year ago.
Great overall. Only problem I've noticed is the famous Gibson-style G-string always goes out of tune problem. I do wonder if a nut replacement would help with that. The nut is also a tad sharp. If I slide towards it too fast I get a bit of a sting.
I do prefer it to pretty much all the Epiphones I've ever tried.
Thanks for sharing! I'm not gonna hold the G string thing against any guitar, considering who started it. 🤣 I'll have to check the nut on this one again, I didn't notice anything before.
@@ArtOfShredYT I did just remember I needed to replace the bolt on the jack. Not that hard of a fix, but that did happen.
Still one of my favorite guitars I own despite being the cheapest other than a First Act I was given as a kid.

I like the way it looks, and it certainly has better pickups than the $340 Squier that I bought. I haven't had much experience on guitar but I don't think I'd like having the volume and tone knobs where they are. Just goes to show, when the volume knob got turned by your leg, while you played seated. Thanks for including the weight. It's weird that guitar manufacturers don't consider that bit of info worthy of the spec sheets. I've seen nato included in some Squier guitar bodies.
Very interesting re: nato on Squiers. I don't recall seeing it, but it would not surprise me that they used it.
I'm also surprised you're unhappy with the pickups on your $340 Squier. I'm assuming that's a 40th anniversary or Classic Vibe?
And as for weight: yeah, they should at least give approximate weight, but it will vary from guitar to guitar so I'm guessing that's why they don't give the weight. I'll have to remember to continue weighing the guitars when I do these unboxings.
@@ArtOfShredYT Mine is an Affinity telecaster. I'm still a beginner so I can't say that I'm unhappy with the pickups, but it sounds like the Gretsch is better loaded. Some of the Classic Vibes 60's have nato bodies. I'm also an older person so I notice the weight on my neck and shoulder; surprised that it is hard to find wider straps in the stores here. The weight of guitars is something I'll be keeping in mind in future.
I’ve bought from Adorama before. Great customer service, but lacking on setup. Those Gretsch’s are killer guitars.

Had mine for 2 years. Balky pickup selector but fit/finish otherwise fine. Les Paul special bargain alternative.

@@ArtOfShredYT my Indonesian PRS semi-hollow 22 has the same defect & otherwise perfect. Just a bedroom player, I work around it. Odd huh ?
@@snapfinger1 Yeah, it can happen. Could just be a weak solder joint, which is a quick fix. I've never had an actual switch fail, even though it's possible that can happen
