You have to think, Issac has survived 2 separate necromorph infestations so it’s not going to be as terrifying for him to fight necromorphs. To him at the point of DS3 fighting necromorphs is a chore now
-"ugh this is an OPTIONAL mission! let's leave!" -misses the mission where the two characters start seeing different shit, which is actually one of the best ideas this game had
Came in to say this! Dead Space 3 as an action horror-lite coop game was perfect. Dead Space 3 as horror no where near the same level as 1 and 2. But some of the coop ideas they had were sweet.
The way I see it with this trilogy, in the first Dead Space Isaac is new to all of this, everything is legit a monstrosity to him and he doesnt know anything thats happening or why until at least halfway through the game. Dead Space 2 he understands the Marker essentially fucks up everything. Still has very little idea what to do with that info but our boy is learning and trying his best while navigating some "helpful" people wanting to betray him. Things are still pretty scary and with his psychosis he has a hard time trusting his own self let alone other people. Dead Space 3, Isaac has learned quite a bit about this Marker and its effects, even had plans with Ellie on how to destroy them, but at this point in time when he gets back to work, there IS nothing left to scare him. He has done this all before, in worse situations, and frankly it feels like he is "Getting too old for this shit." Its hard to make a game feel like Horror, when the main character isnt scared by whats happening around him and starts to have the attitude of Doom Slayer. All that said, fun as fuck game with a friend. Shooting vents as your partner walks by them to give a slight heart attack is priceless
This isn’t as good as the previous two, but I still had a fun time playing this. Isaac using his engineering skills to build custom weapons was awesome.
@@kakirin I disagree. It adds more to the lore of this universe. Plus people keep on ignoring the environment and the logs of the military bases. I think it’s more terrifying than the sprawl(ishimura is still the scariest though). Also it’s cool that we see Isaac turn into a Warrior expert on these monsters.
@@Steel-101 I think its a shit dead space game. really that means a shit horror game. The first 1 was all horror, claustrophobia, and body dysmorphia. The second one is exactly as it should have been. with the first one over, its all "ah f*ck this again." Isaac is more used to it, and they up the action vs the horror due to this yknow being the second game. it had the best balance of both worlds. The third game. Threw away the horror element in game mechanics. except for while youre still in space. or when youre down in the alian compound. it became an action game. the entirety of where the horror element lies is in the lore. I believe dead space 3 is the best addition of lore. but the worst addition in game.
Love the writing in this game. - the bad guy captures Isaac, tells him his plan and has his goons "kill him" - captures Isaac, this time he shoots Isaac himself - Isaac escapes - repeat 3x
I enjoyed this game very much. I have a bitter sweet feeling for this game. My best friend of 17 years killed himself last September and this was the last coop story game we were working on. I finished this game with my roommate a month ago and we enjoyed it. I even played as 2nd player to fill my friends shoes personally. When we finished the game I wondered when you would do a video on it. Thanks for the video Kev.
I literally just completed dead space three a few days ago, and I have to say no one forced me I love the game. However watching you guys play it is like experiencing a different game entirely and it is awesome. Great work Kev.
Dude this game may not have been as scary as the previous and it may have had a confused goal, but the co-op was undoubtedly one of the best in any game.
people say it wasn't scary but when you do a fresh start, on the hardest difficulty, it does infact get spooky when everything kills you so insanely quick
Getting killed quickly to the point it's equivalent to a jumpscare isn't scary, it's surprising. Stop using words that don't mean what you're describing.
Despite all the naysayers, this was a great "finale" part for me. (If we don't consider the Awakened DLC) Nicely wrapped up almost everything regarding the lore, the crafting was far more entertaining than looking for all those "energy moduls" or what was their names, and the fight against actual humans gave some diversity to the combat. Although in the end, without a co-op partner, I was gangraped by the Feeders quite some times.
The one redeeming quality of Dead Space 3 (almost put DS3, but that's Dark Souls) is the intro. The sheer bleakness of the frozen colony was much more impressive than the rest of the game.
It's amazing just how little love was clearly put into DS3. The worst part is that it's only fun to play co-op. Trying to play it singleplayer is miserable since there is 0 difference in the number of enemies. You just end up getting hopelessly swamped everywhere you go.
Unpopular opinion: Dead Space 3 is the best one in the series I see dead space 3 as a natural progression of phasing out the horror for more action. Think about it this way. Dead Space 1 is the most scary because that's your introduction to the necromorphs. Dead Space 2 you're still afraid just not as much. Dead Space 3 you're a full on veteran at this point. Also gameplay, crafting weapons, story, co op and the new characters were all great. I love the way this game ends and it saddens me that there is no dead space 4
I always thought Dead Space 3 made sense. This is the third time Issac has had to fight Necromorphs, he is tired of their shit. No wonder he was going in guns blazing and not scared of them anymore.
playing this game co-op was genuinely some of the best fun i've had playing co-op games tbh. Might not be a great game, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Playing as Carver is definitely the better experience
Oh dude this is my favorite in the trilogy. Yeah sure the story wasn’t perfect(love triangle was annoying & they messed up with Ellie) but it really did add more to the lore. This awesome. I have never tried Dead Space 3 yet. But I did play before during xbox 360 times for Dead Space (conpleted) and Dead Space 2(not completed yet).
I would love to add and own Dead Space Remake with my collection of the games and anime movies.

Dead Space 3 was such an insult it actually killed the franchise it was a part of.
I want a Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll remake personally. I remember there was 1 copy in the 2 towns and I snagged it. Pretty sure it fell wayyyy under the radar.
I am literally playing this game right now.
Congrats on 1mil subs
You should try the game reign of fire I don't think it's that bad of a game but it's so unknown to the people of the world but it's a awesome video game concept in my opinion I wish there was a modern-day version of it I forgot to mention it's also very cringy but I love it lol
