- My pool heater quit working. It would try to start, but then fail. The error code "IF" was displayed. It was an "Ignition Failure Lockout". I looked at a few videos, but none showed how to actually fix the problem.
I hope this helps someone! - Розваги
Thanks so much for the clear and complete instructions. I was seconds away from calling for help when your video solved my problem.
Thank you!! You hit the nail right on the head. The 1st one was filled with cob-webs. Simple cleaning and it worked like a champ!
This video is the very best of what UA-cam has to offer. Thank you.
Wow. High praise!
Legend. I replaced and returned at least 5 different parts on my heater air can and paper clip did the trick. Thank you.
Awesome! Sometimes it’s the simplest thing.
Saved me a service call 🙌🏼. Thanks Brother!!
Great to hear!
Thanks for the video. I had a similar problem with my house heater; cleaned the jets and good to go. My pool is pretty new and getting the 'IF' ignition failure code. I believe it is low gas pressure in my case, as I'm down to about 8% left in my propane tank.
Mine has like 10 of those inserts. So instead of removing them I just hit each one with canned air using the little straw nozzle. Work like a charm. Thanks!
I owe you a drink sir! Went to fire up my 2 year old heater and was frustrated that it kicked on and right off. Called the pool company. They were going to come out tomorrow to check it out and probably charge me nicely. Just went through the orfices right to left and as I'm getting to the end they were all clean so I wasn't feeling great. Sure enough I get to the last one and Walla, a nice web. Cleaned it out, put it back and it fired right up. Don't think the pool company is happy with my service cancelation 😂
That is spectacular!
this is true, I had 2 of four plugged completely .....easy to do and will add to my opening procedures. Heater is 10 years old and I have never cleaned them before.
Thank you so much for the video.... didn't look dirty at all, but I ran a pipe cleaner through them and had a little trouble getting the pipe to move back into position, but it worked great... running for about an hour now..... Thank you...
Glad it helped a little!
Big thank you! Saved me a service call $$.
Thanks so much for this video! It was great information that I would not have thought of.... You are a Life Saver!!!
Glad it helped!!
Thanks my dude!! Totally worked!!
Glad it helped!
Nice to see you post. I bet your day job is keeping you quite busy!
I just came off 3 weeks vacation. Now that I'm back...it's CRAZY.
@@quinnjim Seems both pilots and controllers are being over worked these days.
Nice work, John! Probably saved yourself $300, at least! That's some good flying time on 100LL. 👍😎👍
For sure. I'll never be handy like you...but I can try!
@@quinnjim If I can do it, anyone can, lol. 😁 Thanks, Jim.
Dude!!!! You rock! Thank you sir! I owe you a steak!
GREAT to hear! So frustrating when they don't fire up in the Spring.
Need suggestion , My burners are burnt Looks like water is drip on them and geeting rested and then breaks will be the issue
I'm not sure what to do about that one.
Could this happen on a heater that has been working for 3 weeks? Can it still clog?
I think a spider can clog it up in a couple days.
A mechanicle Episode hmmm Cool
Wow I can’t fn believe it…I had the SMALLEST spider web in front of one orphace. Put it back together, turned it on and it lit I am stunned lol
That's GREAT! It's amazing how a very small obstruction can shut down the heater.
I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews, but I used it last year and hooked it up again this year and it was great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx-izdrK3eF-HMvjzeBOxToD6Fx-4ulJUh . I couldn't get my 10' Intex pool above 76 degrees the year prior and last year I got it to 90 and had to put ice in it. This worked so well! I have just 1 mat hooked up to a 1,000 GPH Intex pump and it makes a significant reduction in the flow rate coming back into the pool, but that is to be expected with how far the water has to travel through the mat.
