- We visited our good friend, Tom Crutchfield, at his reptile farm to talk a little bit about a book he just published, and to meet his 18 foot reticulated python, Bertha! Bertha was actually caught in Florida as an escaped pet, and donated to Tom by FWC. (There is not a breeding population here, which we discuss in this video). After meeting Bertha, we got to play with two of his baby emus! We will have more videos at the Crutchfield Reptile Farm soon. We hope you enjoy this video!

That's one huge snake. I would never go that close to it. Don't get me wrong I like snakes but from a safe distance. The baby emus are so cute.

So since the comments are disabled on the video, I came to this video but I’d like to know what you people that are catching the pythons in the Everglades are doing with those snakes?!? I’m assuming you’re catching and killing them! If so that is very messed up!!! Snakes have the right to live and survive just as any other reptile...... they are not a danger to the ecosystem, that’s just an excuse for people to go out, catch and kill them! If they weren’t meant to be there they would not be able to survive............. I’m an avid snake lover as well as animal lover, it hurts me to know you are catching these snakes and killing them.....!!! Basically punishing them for living and surviving......
You should really read the blog. They are an invasive species, and they are wreaking havoc on the ecosystem. I really hope you aren’t serious with your comment. They were introduced by people, they get 16 feet long and wipe out native animals. Read the blog and educate yourself
I’m sorry But CLEARLY you REFUSE to watch the video because Chris and Gabby go into FULL detail on why they are a invasive species and why they are destroying the Everglades. Please I can’t stress enough the importance of RESEARCH! Take 2 minutes out of your precious time and actually look into it, Look into how they have no natural predators and how these snakes can wipe an entire species out. So yes they are catching and killing them HUMANELY because people who work in this industry understand the bigger picture. So PLEASE go educate yourself!
