thank god i had the cure when i had cancer at age 17! they didn't cure me medically, but mentally with their music! Thank God, i had the Cure when things went bad!
This is one sweet dark version of 'M'. I never seen a band like The Cure where they can take a song, and give it an infinite number of variations, using tempo, chord changes, instrumentation, personnel or whatever.
Interesting. I'm not a "die-hard" The Cure fan, but this is one of the rare cases when I almost prefer to call a band's music Art instead of just entertainment. I love classical music that makes my brain go into a imagination/dream mode, and many The Cure songs do the same. I like lyrics that are like a piece of a puzzle and lets my brain fill in most of the pieces.
I like this 3-piece performance by The Cure no extra guitar player no keyboard player true guitar raw Rock sound great great tempo for the song as well
All I can say is it is sooooo awesome to find a place with this much love for Robert. He really is and always has been one of the most musically gifted entertainers ever. The Cure is what my soul would sound like if it could manifest sound. Been my fav since I was in elementary school and always will be.
M has always been my favorite song of the cure. Since childhood. You know those times with a ghettoblaster eating batteries like I ate hamburgers. Going swimming, topless girls and nothing to worry about, but M.
Robert Smith once said this song was "about a girl." You may notice a certain similarity to a song called "About a Girl." I thought the Wish line-up was pretty awesome, but I DO love the Cure as a three-piece.
"M" is a groundbreaking german movie from 1931 by Fritz Lang. It's about a child killer (played by Peter Lorre), and the town trying to catch him. It was the first movie to have a leitmotif. The murderer whistles his favorite song "In the hall of the moutain king" through the movie. The murderer is driven by a compulsion to find and kill new little girls...
17 Seconds...My fave album to get stoned to! Used to take me to another place.Fantastic band whove shown that you dont have to sell out to make it huge in music! Robert Smith & Simon Gallup ROCK!
I like that they go back to s trio for this song. After this watch the M from 1980. So awesome, but can't believe how I got so old so fast. But the Cure has grown with me, even my kids like it. Thanks Robert.....
All smiles! Life's too short for ire. I never said my favourite though, I actually could never pick a favorite album, as I think each has it's own feel, and kicks creative behind, but I suck at decisions!
Work you issues out on someone else! So weird, agro, and just odd. So, according to your reasoning, I simply must choose? Wow, so now I have to pick a favourite Van Gogh, when they are all brilliantly amazing? I will interact with you no longer, THIS ALBUM KICKS ASS, as all of them do. I have been a Curehead since 1981, and beautiful art is beautiful art! Gooday to you! Buh-bye!
I cannot begin to describe how great this band was in the eighties and, the most original of them all. A real cult band forever that inspired other music trends that still persist.
Hello image Sing me a line from your favorite song Twist and turn But you're trapped in the light All the directions were wrong You'll fall in love with somebody else Tonight Help yourself But tell me the words Before you fade away You reveal all the secrets To remember the end And escape someday You'll fall in love with somebody else Again tonight Take a step You move in time But it's always back... The reasons are clear Your face is drawn And ready for the next attack
This has been their best song for the last 30 years. This song, my teenage me drunk or drugged, a place playing this song and my not-so perfect life was perfect for the night. I wish for a timeshift.
I always wondered what my favorite Cure song is because I thought I like a lot of them equally but someday I realized that I never ever ever ever skipped M on a playlist, CD, cassette or vinyl record, so I guess M is my alltime Cure favorite !!!
possibly the best band ever.
Possibly??
DEFINITELY the best band EVER!!!
Sarah Francis Absolutely. No question.
Paul Metzger ;)
for sure
The Cure always helds on the chords of the bass of Simon Gallup , one of the best bass player in the history of rock
What " Chords " ? He´s playing single notes ... this is not Motorhead 😂
17 Seconds is an amazing example of simplicity. As perfect as a razors edge.
also think so. That's the best of post punk with joy division's
I prefer the cure. Top of simplicity of object.
The cure..non esisterà mai più un gruppo così.. un leader con una consapevolezza di se ... della realtà in cui viviamo ...non ne sono molte ..
thank god i had the cure when i had cancer at age 17!
they didn't cure me medically, but mentally with their music!
Thank God, i had the Cure when things went bad!
Man the bass line is just hypnotic!
This version is simply amazing... it matures as time goes by, along with band

per me è il capolavoro dei Cure, bellissima questa versione live il basso regna sovrano

Megabass von Simon Gallup !!!!!!
M has always been my favorite song of the cure.
Since childhood.

This is still my favorite song from the cure...
Wow, a trio! Amazing! Great song.

M stands for "Mary"
There’s just something about the rawness of the guitar in this version of M that captures me.
Simplicity at mesmerising best.
It’s the simplicity of The Cure that makes it Brilliant
No sé, pero... Simon es un grande!!!

Well the song is about his future wife "Mary"
its also the 13th letter of the alphabet, and what my exwife was "M" in my phone.
Thank you for playing this in 2016 Budapest gig. Tears in my eyes when it started. Almost...
This the best song the cure ever made. Fat bass' glues this whole piece together ! M
Outstanding music with the real cure feeling, bring us early cure fans back…down memory lane to the eighties❤

Maravillosa versión de M
17 Seconds...My fave album to get stoned to! Used to take me to another place.Fantastic band whove shown that you dont have to sell out to make it huge in music! Robert Smith & Simon Gallup ROCK!

This is my jam! I love the Cure!
I like that they go back to s trio for this song.
After this watch the M from 1980. So awesome, but can't believe how I got so old so fast. But the Cure has grown with me, even my kids like it. Thanks Robert.....

This album (Seventeen Seconds) kicks ass!!

Hello image
Sing me a line from your favorite song
Twist and turn
But you're trapped in the light
All the directions were wrong
You'll fall in love with somebody else
Tonight
Help yourself
But tell me the words
Before you fade away
You reveal all the secrets
To remember the end
And escape someday
You'll fall in love with somebody else
Again tonight
Take a step
You move in time
But it's always back...
The reasons are clear
Your face is drawn
And ready for the next attack

Amazing version of 'M'. Wow. Be still my heart...
The Cure forever!!!👍🇬🇷🌞⬆️🔊🎸🎵🎶
There´s no better bass than Simon´s... Fucking great !
+Juan Ramos Geddy Lee is better.
+Dragondoc4 I disagree. Simon and Peter Hook are far better.
+Paul Metzger I think Hook´s job in Joy Division is freaking great, but I´m still thinking Simon is better. But both are amazing...
Fantastic tune, old but awesome ❤
AHH I love the Cure so amazingly much. :]
I'm seeing them TONIGHT!!
That was BOMB!

Thank you for posting this. It's always been a favorite of mine.
It's amazing .
This song evokes so much...interesting.
M is such a classic Cure anthem , just like a forrest ,n one hundred years ,from the edge of the deep green sea. There's just too many to name here ,
I always wondered what my favorite Cure song is because I thought I like a lot of them equally but someday I realized that I never ever ever ever skipped M on a playlist, CD, cassette or vinyl record, so I guess M is my alltime Cure favorite !!!

Now, who can deny that sound? It makes me feel good inside.
Most Excellent !!
A great bass line don't need to be complicated. This man is awesome, one of the best bass liners ever. This version rocks!
Ask peter hook. A good baseline isnt cluttered...usually the most memorable ones are simple and clever.
Sheer class! the Cure are the best!
favorite cure song for today :]
Saw them in '04, still one of the best shows I've been to. They're one of those bands that is actually better live.
