1:23 in the clip. When I say "Nothing has changed" in the Icom 7300 settings, I just mean I stay consistent. All of those settings are the same as in my last video and a lot of the previous videos. You can find snapshots of the Icom 7300 Menu settings here: www.k0pir.us/files/7300screenshots/ ICOM 7300 IS IN RTTY MODE IN THE VIDEO ABOVE!!
Thank you for this great video. I was trying to get MMTTY to run with one cable, but wasn't having much luck with the virtual port software. After ordering and receiving a CI-V cable, all is well. 73 Gil KS4YX
Thanks Rich, another good video. For me you are the go to channel especially using the 7300, Mac and MacloggerDX. Just a quick clarification can you switch between RTTY and CW without making any changes to the setting in the radio or on N1MM. I thought I heard you say @2.49 "so you can send CW". And do you bother with new Settings Presets for different modes in the 7300 V1.4? Keep up the good work. Thanks Bob VK2EG 73
Thank you Edmundo. I like this way (One Cable) but it has limitations unlike using CI-V and USB. It worked good so if I am out and portable with just one USB cable I know how to run this. Thank you again Edmundo. - Rich, K0PIR
not getting my head round this is it possible to ci-v with spectrum scope and usb with fsk, or am I understanding that the lack of default virtual com port is why you cant have two cable and spectrum scope thanks?
You got it right. You won’t get the spectrum scope if you’re using the CIV cable for the rig control. It takes 115200 baud. I hope everything is well where you are. Take care, good luck and good DX!
Just decided to learn on RTTY with my 7300 and can you fill me in a little bit Rich I would greatly appreciate it. I got N1mm currently installed and what else do I need? Thank you and 73
Since you are just learning I would go with RTTY (AFSK) because it is very similar to PSK31 setup. If you have psk31 working all you have to do is change Fldigi to RTTY. Go to Op Mode>RTTY>RTTY-45. Under the frequency display in Fldigi choose RTTY from the drop down. I'll try to remember to put that in my upcoming video on Fldigi. Stay tuned! 73!
@@HamRadioAdventures Rich good evening and thank you for getting back to me in no time. I'm slightly able to have the fldigi operate for now. I did enter RTTY 45 and also have the RTTY mode next to the freq counter as you said.
Rich at first I opened N1MM and click digital interface and saying that it needs to be configured, can you help me how to do it? I would greatly appreciate it.
@@jaywardjulian6163 Go into configuration and look for the digital tab. I don't have N1MM installed at the moment, but there is a place to enter the path to Fldigi on one of those tabs.GL and I'll get N1MM installed later.73!
Hi Edmundo, Good question because I normally use a CI-V for my rig control, but wanted to try this out. For my normal setup with MMTTY, you can see it here: www.k0pir.us/icom-7300-rtty-fsk-mmtty/ and there is a video at the bottom of the page. For more on the N1MM Logger Config see: www.k0pir.us/icom-7300-n1mm-logger-plus-setup/ I think that is what you look for. Thank you again and thanks for the question. - Rich, K0PIR
Rick I have set up my ic7300 per your video on WSJT-X with JTAlert. My problem is I have tried many times to CQ or connect with another station but no one answers. I will try 3-4 times to same station. Are there something I am missing?
Hi Jeffery, Nice to meet you on here and thank you for the comment. I was just operating mobile and using WSJT-X. I had the same problem and I believe it was my clock on my laptop. Since I wasn't connected to the Internet, my laptop clock was not updated. Are you using something to sync up to a time server? I use NetTime at www.timesynctool.com If you are time synced, see plenty of stations in the waterfall and are decoding good, then transmit would be a place to look. Are you sure you are transmitting? If you are time synced, see power output (20 watts or so) and your antenna is tuned good you should be getting out. I would check hamspots.net too see if anyone is spotting me. Call CQ numerous times and check hamspots.net, okay? 73's Rich, K0PIR
Hi Gil, thank you so much for commenting here. I am glad it helped. Best 73 from a QuartzFest!

Does the display on your icom shows high ALC in this mode when it sends? (using FSK) - it seems to do that for me...
Good Question. Yes it does in RTTY (FSK) mode. Thanks for watching, GL and best 73!
