- Unboxing of the bird feeder by the brand Harymor with built in camera and solar panel from the seller Lefang Direct on Amazon. For more information about this product you can see the Amazon listing here: amzn.to/3rivVSv
it seems that these cameras are same or identical to cameras used in other brands, for example Solium Hummingbird feeder from China has the same app & camera. So it's like one camera maker w/app developer all in one and then re-branded to a ton of different sub-brands of feeder systems. So crazy but I immediately recognized the App features but a different app branding. Someone really knows how to market these things over there and can demand a very large pricing model. All these camera feeder systems seem to be from China, which have dominated the marketplace. I could be totally wrong and there could be other camera feeder systems that I'm missing.
How do you clean the Harymor Birdfeeder Camera?
Could you show us how you mounted it to the pole? We want to use our feeder pole
Thanks. Yvonne
@yvonnefisher2923 It is a different feeder, but if you go to 4:24 in this video. . . I have my Harymor mounted the same way (clamp thru the back) - ua-cam.com/video/42-twygUmWE/v-deo.html
You mentioned in the video you were going to mount it on a pole, but there is no later reference to that pole shown in the video. How did you mount to a pole??
I basically ran a couple hose clamps thru the slots in the bracket it comes with. These are the clamps I am using (nothing fancy but it works) - www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-2-1-1-4-in-Stainless-Steel-Hose-Clamp-6712595/202309385 - I ran them thru the mounting bracket and around my pole. Still works great and I still have yet to charge it (solar panel keeps it running).
How did it work for you with just the built in solar panels on the roof? Were you able to keep using it without the extra panel?
I have yet to use the external solar panel, and I have yet to have to plug in and charge the feeder (other than when I first got it). I basically got it. . . fully charged the camera, put it out just using the attached solar panels and it has powered itself since then. I get 30-100 triggers per day solar panel keeps it charged.
How does the AI feature work
thru the app? I'm on the fence
about keeping the Harymor. I
would really appreciate a tutor-
ial on the identification aspect
of the app. Thank you! 🙂✌
I have not used the AI feature yet just because I did not want to pay for it. In my yard I don't get anything too hard to identify. It is always Cardinals, Chickadee, etc. I just use the Merlin Bird app which is free to identify any non regulars. I have been happy with the Harymor, but there are lots of bird cameras out there these days. . . if you find a better one I hope you will come back and let me know which one you went with.
