I had that Demoman shirt where he is sticky jumping with a sticky printed on the lower back of the shirt. As you can expect, I had to throw it away since the print got heavily damaged through a lot of washings.
My father used to have a huge collection of tf2 merchandise, robot figurines and action ones, spycrab plushie and the sandwich, He gave it to me some time ago and I stumbled upon this video. I won't sell any of it because it has emotional value to me but I may start playing tf2 like my father used to, and since he mained soldier I might aswell do so aswell

I've been looking for information on "Holy Grail" items for fandoms and such and this video actually really helps out because it's easy to just say "golden pan lol" but this brings up a ton of the physical possibilities which is so much more interesting to think about in our community. The fact that it could be a tie between a foam bat and a prototype statue is absolutely wild.
wouldn't it be plausible that the grey 'prototype' figurines, were simply bought normally and then dunked in a chemical solution that removes the paint? Could imagine people doing that to fool people into thinking its higher value & rarity
If they're made of resin, probably not. Resin is very delicate and brittle and even using heat on it can warp a figure. Grey paint is usually the primer stage of a figure, which comes right before painting. A chemical solution would ruin the figure itself, and the color underneath the grey would be a light yellow.
Don't have most of my TF2 stuff I had when I was younger, but I still have the 2 work shirts they made! The green Mann Co one and the navy one with the Engineer logo on it! I cherish them, especially since they're still in good condition

I remember spotting a red robot Pyro figure at this geeky shop years ago. It was really expensive though and so I could have never bought it for myself. All I could do was stare at it through the glass display with the other figures they had in it. I never realised how much they were sought out for and I also never saw it again after that encounter.
The portable Mercs have actually been out of production for years. I’ve emailed them a few times for replacement parts from ones I’ve managed to find because they have defects or missing parts, and they told me they don’t produce them anymore and are sending me whatever leftover stock they have.
I never realised how rare the atomiser bat is i got one for my birthday along with a bonk cherry energy drink a few years back the bat didn’t have a box or packaging but is undamaged and the can still remains unopened

I never got any of them and I would absolutely love to have one of medic and engie. however, I wonder why the rest was never made to complete the series but it bugs me. I got all the small red figures except for spy but it would have been nice to expand upon this as well. Merasmus, Saxton hale and miss Pauling are some examples of figures I would love to own.

my theory as to why the sniper statue became so rare is because he's not nearly as famous/iconic as, say, heavy and soldier. not to say people dont like sniper, but if you're gonna get one of these, you're prolly gonna go with one of the big boys and not the character that's only really cool if you've played the game extensively. because of this, the company probably produced more heavies/soldiers and less snipers because the former would sell way more than the latter.

I managed to snag a giant robot blu heavy a year ago at a geek shop down near where my college course is for around 130-160 GBP. I still have it up on my shelf and love it so much, mint condition and everything. I had asked him to keep me updated if he ever gets anything of the sort again, but he had shut down due to the disease that shall not be named. Really sucked, honestly. He had so much good shit in there.

Tips for keeping the prints on shirts: Turn them inside out while washing. Pay attention to the instructions on the tags Try drying at lower temperatures (drying actually damages the print more than washing) Be judicial about when you want to wear them (I have weeb shirts I like that I really only where to cons)
My mother has an old sentry poster that was signed by the tf2 developers, I don't know if she still has it because she's been moving around a lot and it might have gotten misplaced at some point.

i actually own the soldier's genider cap. i got it when they first started selling them and its a hat i wear all the time.. its very faded and worn out and i wish i could either get a replacement or find someone to restore it the best it can be
