    Translation picked up from Google Translate™ (Chinese to English): This is one of the earliest human-like writing systems in the world. It was created in China and there are about 4,000 to 800. However, the problem is that it looks-probably very different from Traditional Chinese-so this text is very-probably inaccurate at all. In any case, if you are the first to translate this, you are a huge brain.

    • @coreymurray432
      @coreymurray432 3 роки тому +11

      The trouble is, the earliest known Chinese writing system (the Oracle Bone script) is only attested to have existed as early as the Shang dynasty (c. 1400-1200 BC), well after the stated date of c. 4800 BC in the video. The Oracle Bone script already shows a level of complexity and sophistication that precludes it from being the actual earliest stage of Chinese writing. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing exactly what form the earliest Chinese writing took. However, scholars largely agree that pictograms (symbols of things) were in some way involved.

    Nice! I really enjoyed this video! One conflict that was quite significant to China was the Korean War (1950-1953). The performance of China during the Korean War proved to the West that China was an upcoming superpower. I noticed you sneaking in the Tiananmen Square Massacare (1989). Understand why it wasn't included, would've been controversial! Nice job on the video!

    As a Chinese (and a student who is going to take a master's degree in History), I think this video is good. It is a pity that there are too many historical events in China XD. A video of no more than 20 minutes can not even list some most important events.
    A little correction for the great leap forward. Mao himself was aware of the problems of the movement. For example, at the Zhengzhou conference in November 1958, he criticized the practices of officials for violating social regular. At the Wuchang meeting, he emphasized to correct "the wind of exaggeration". At the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eighth CPC Central Committee, Mao accused many officials of "unrealistic and extreme leftist ideas and practices are wrong". In 1959, Mao once again asked in Zhengzhou to correct the extreme leftist practices of officials in rural production. However, after Liu Shaoqi came to power, Both Mao and Liu were still unable to stop the spread of the left trend of thought, and the government tend to criticized the right trend of thought.....
    Generally speaking, some major people in the central government at that time were aware of the mistakes of the great leap forward and the problems local officals did, but they were unable to control the situation and correct the mistakes.

    As a Chinese I'm quite satisified with the quality, but I want to point out 3 improvements:
    1. It is better to say that paper is improved at 105 CE: archaeologists have found Chinese paper from around 250 BCE, but the recipe at that time is quite different from the paper after 105 CE
    2. In the west people usually think Gutenburg is the inventor of printing, but in China Bi Sheng(972CE-1051CE) is considered as the inventor of printing
    3. I think it is better to give the guy in Chinese Republic Revolution a crossbow to show that the main force of this revolution is the modernlized army

    Too hurried. This could be like a three part series tho. I just think some epic moments were skipped. I mean come on... red cliff? Guandu? The invasion of lac viet, the invention of the junk, Zheng he! Either way I enjoyed it as usual tho.

    • @Danymok
      @Danymok  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I understand that these histories are way more extensive than I can show, but making it a 3 part series first of all would be a little draining for me to make an to watch I'd imagine. I could make hours of content about a specific culture, but part of the point of my videos is to present them concisely. Still I understand the criticism, and maybe I can improve on that. Still, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the support :)

      I saw that on Google also, that it was first used around 300 BC, but I sae another source saying that it was first built way before that. I don't remember the source now, but I trusted it, idk.
