My parents bought a Bendix Duomatic combo washer dryer in 1953. It is still washing and drying clothes, and passed down to grand children. It was built in South Bend, Indiana. There is an economy in reliability of products that seems to be overlooked these in our throwaway society.
I like basic washer and dryer for reliability. But, I bought house recently, no dryer vent in laundry. I was given a LG ventless , pump went out every 6 moths. Just got this samsung, love it so far. Every load so far has taken right at 2 hours and all dry. Even king size comforter.
I have been using the GE washer-dryer combo for over a year now, and while it does require regular maintenance to keep it running efficiently, I have not encountered any issues. Overall, I am satisfied with its performance. On the other hand, my experience with Samsung appliances has been less favorable, particularly in terms of service. If their washer-dryer combo is anything like their refrigerators, I would approach it with caution. While I appreciate innovation, my past experiences with Samsung appliances have not been positive.
Great video. Seeing as the unit is a new unit on the market, I am not surprised there were issues. That is what warranties and extended warranties are for.
What? Your machine broke after 2 months and you still give it an A rating? Thanks for the review, though; you’ve convinced me never to buy a Samsung washer dryer.
But you can see on 2:34 and 4:40 that he is the problem look at the amount of clothes he’s putting, he is obviously hyperstressing the machine, if he used in the correct way it wouldn’t break

Great review, and great demo, though I am not into too much electronics I am big fan for washer dryer combo, have those for the last 10 years, thankfully they are getting better and better, with that said, it took me 7-10 days to get service for my LG and I live in the center of LA.
Great review and your channel is true to its name, I used to sell appliances and you're having the same problems as everyone that walks in the store. The problem is that modern machines are built to make money not last, the best ones are the ones with the least amount of electronics. Please do not buy products based on looks (women) and don't cheap out on a washer and dryer (men). Use 80% of the drum when washing and maintain both machines routinely. If you really want something that will last buy the commercial washer and dryer sets that can be fixed locally (the ugly ones that cost a lot of money ladies and gentleman).🥱Or not we will gladly take your money over and over again.
Very odd to see several “honest” reviewers glow up the Samsung. I have owned the GE since day one, no problems and it works perfectly. Dry every time, fluffy and no wrinkles. Clean the filter just the same as you must for traditional dryer, scrub it under running water every couple months (yes you should do this with a regular dryer lint screen). Guess what, my old dryer also had lint that got stuck under the screen, same thing here just brush it out every 2-3 months. These “reviewers” are all stuffing like four loads of clothes in at once, it’s like watching Mr. Mom, haha. Do a normal large load and it will dry thoroughly, bonus is that GE made the air flow so good you can dry a king comforter in one go instead of flipping it like a wet burrito and running the old fashioned dryer multiple times (which slows down your laundry flow). It just frosts me to see disingenuous reviews, when I do laundry daily and have long hair and dogs and the GE handles it all. I have always maintained my appliances by following the manual that comes with each, shocking how just a quick wipe down of most things for ten seconds on a regular basis saves you from hours of deep cleaning and repairs, shocking. BUT I don’t have to clean out the old vent pipe to the exterior now, so I do far less work and have zero worry about dryer fire. GE made a gem, they won me back as a customer for life with this combo. It’s just easy and makes laundry almost like not doing laundry. You can actually get laundry done faster because you no longer have to transfer loads and organize a routine. Toss in a load and push play. The soap dispenser is up top so I don’t have to bend or risk spilling. Even without the riser the door is at a comfortable height. I look forward to “doing laundry” now because GE made it so easy and hassle free. You don’t need complicated controls or to watch youtube on your washer, Samsung is just wildly silly there making the screen so tiny and cluttered.
So I would like to see you use your washing machine like you used it before it broke. Use the automatic soap dispenser. I have a GE all in one. I’ve had no problems with it. I cleaned it after every load. I’ve got way over 200 loads on it. I’ve had it for nine months. I have modified the filter though, and I’ve had no problems with Lint going past the filter.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Be aware about Samsung and poor reliability, at least in vacuum cleaners and washing machines. - Samsung washing machines have a plastic plate that breaks and destroys all the mechanics. Samsung vacuum cleaners suffers from sudden death just when the guarantee expires, i suffer it two times. No more Samsung appliances in my house, never. - LG washing machines are by far the most reliable and better working ones. I have one washing / dryer about 10 years and still working perfectly fine. It just work great. If someday it stop working I'll buy other LG not doubt. It would be great if you try an LG washing machine for some months. In my experience are the best.
Seems like you've had more serious problems with the samsung than the GE. So GE doesnt fully dry your clothes it sucks. Samsung burned the board... Twice, auto dispenser stopped working, its the best? Maybe I'm missing something. 🤔
Awesome! Many Thanks for doing the research! Just as a side note here, I have never used the auto soap dispenser on the machine I have or any machine, even at a laundromat if I’m traveling in an RV… there’s something about it that feels like it could go sideways.) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🇺🇸
I have had this machine for 8 months. We love it. But..... Last week our softener container emptied completely within a load or two. Refilled, did it again. Then I cleaned the softener container out and made sure to also clean out the spring and opened up the plugs with a stick and made sure there was no sticky residue anywhere. I have run two loads with it working fine, but your video has scared me. I hope it isn't a precursor to a bigger issue like you had happen. Update please when you've run it for awhile.
Almost bought an LG All-In-One directly from their website. Deceptive practice, offering a code for 10% off. After putting over $2700.00 worth of stuff in the cart, I try to check out and the code didn't work. The chat guy said that was only for certain Items. So he offered a code for 5% off. I was buying the machine and the pedestal Sidekick machine plus a Pet Care Filter. I told him to forget it and left. Now I'm glad I did because I see the Samsung is much better. WARNING though, watch out cuz Customer Service is non-existent from Samsung! Read the 1 star reviews.. I'll be getting mine from Abt in Illinois. They offer a complete warranty of 3 or 5 years. I'm paying for that cuz I don't want to have to call Samsung ever again.
Dang, so after seeing Ben's review I have been very interested in this machine. Have been planning on a purchase this spring. Now I am hesitant. I hope you will do a follow up if anything else happens. Not a lot of info out here for this machine yet.
@@lionintu If you have some good references please do share. Most of the stuff I have seen so far has been businesses recapping the data sheet and mostly the PR talking points. I saw on another video where one of the companies were talking about the warranty and service issues with Samsung. So now I am pausing on the Samsung and trying to decide if any of these all in one units are worth the risk or hassles. Hey Ben, I know your experience with the GE wasn’t the best neither was this one. I recommend LG, they make a combo washer and dryer if you’d like to look into that.
AuthenTech, I was looking at possibly getting this machine, but wanted to get a washer drain pan to set it on. Unfortunately I have been unable to find one with the dimensions to fit it in. I was wondering if you had any suggestions or could help. Thank you! vgv
I seen someone comment that in other countries they have had these machines for years and never had any problems. I wonder why ours here in America are so unreliable?
I quit after I heard 120v drying, all the electronics and load sensors. I’ve had enough experience to know better. I’ll go with two separate unit Speed Queen.
I have a machine called a "Wife". The machine is really awesome. I put my clothes in a laundry basket and about 3 to 5 days later those same clothes miraculous end up clean and folded in my drawers. Sure its a lot more pricier and im still making lifelong monthly payments but its almost never broken . 😂😅
I guess your old junkie GE might not be so bad after all. I myself have the GE version and I bought it one month after it was introduced. Fast forward 18 months later and I have had zero problems. I think the main key to my success with my machine is that I am very OCD about cleaning my lint filter after each load and I clean any lint that may get on my condenser coils.
A- when it failed twice and maybe more if you were not doing a workaround is way too high. I know you want to be trustful in the first time but at the same time don't be nasty to Samsung that sends you the machine, but a B will be more than just. If you continue to use the auto-dispenser with no issues I will say ok a B+ or an A- will be fair.
Agree. This guy knows nothing about equipment. Only clicks. He also knows nothing about maintenance or heat pumps. If you keep up on the GE maintenance, you’ll never have an issue. Yes the filter system needs some help but a little mod will go a long ways. Also as a service tech. The GE is so much easier to work on.
GE for the win. It’s all about maintenance. I’ve watched multiple videos from you and I just don’t believe you keep up on your gear. LG is garbage point blank. I’m an HVAC tech by trade and GE is by far the best tech HVAC machine on the market.
@@washingandmowing15there are videos that show break downs. The heat pump of the GE is super easy to go to. You just take the top off the machine and the coil is right there. The LG is tucked way into the machine. It would be a nightmare to get to the coil
@@washingandmowing15 simple answer they do not clean themselves and they also have a problematic filter system.
