    amzn.to/3ENdYAw
    Reolink 8CH NVR (Amazon Affiliate)
    amzn.to/3D0cmlj
    Netgeart 8 Port PoE Switch (Amazon affiliate)
    amzn.to/3Vr24Ch
    Steps to add the WiFi camera to the Reolink NVR (Network Video Recorder)
    1. Connect the Reolink camera to the Router (or switch) via UTP cable.
    2. Connect the Reolink NVR to to the Router (or switch) via UTP cable.
    3. Use a mobile phone to scan the camera QR Code.
    4. Follow the setup to add the camera to the network via WiFi.
    5. Disconnect the UTP cable from the camera.
    6. Add the camera to the NVR.

    Hi,
    When I scan the QR code, it just redirects me to my app and shows the camera, but I don’t get the Wi-Fi setup process that you show around 1:16 in your video. As a result, I can’t initiate the Wi-Fi configuration. When I remove the Ethernet cable, I lose access to the camera, and it only works with the cable connected.
    Do you have any idea how to resolve this?
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions exactly, but after I enter the camera password on the NVR and click OK I keep getting "Connection Failed." I'm trying to connect a wifi Reolink doorbell camera. Any suggestions what I should try next?

    I have this camera and can not put the circle thing back onto the stand where it’s supposed to stay in place. Did you have this problem as well? Seems like it doesn’t fit

    so you connect the switch port to the nvr and you also connect the router to one of the switch ports?

    the question I can't find an answer to is can I ALSO look at that wifi camera on Alexa? The wifi cameras are Alexa compatible. But If I connect one to the NVR for recording can I also view the wifi cameras via an Alexa Show as well?

    • @bestsecuritydevices
      @bestsecuritydevices  Рік тому

      The Alexa App does not show cameras. You need a device such as a TV with firestick or an echo show.

    Do you need a router in order from this camera to be operable?

    HI. I am trying to do this but having trouble. I see the wifi camera in the ReoLink app, but it's not using my NVR. The only thing different is I do not have a lan port on my Reolink wifi camera. I just connected it directly to my wifi. I am using a Deco mesh wifi system instead of the wifi that came with my router. It is hard wired to my router. The Deco servers all my wifi on the house including all smart devices. Any ideas?

      @jlimato Рік тому

      I enabled my router's wifi and it worked. I would rather use my mesh wifi and disable my router's. The mesh is hard wired into my router. I would think it would work though.

    I am using a Reolink Lumus IP cameras which do not have ethernet ports on them. I am also using the Deco mesh router. For some reason the camera, and the NVR are picking up different IP addresses. Is there a way to setup the NVR with a camera that is not on the same IP? Just curious if there is more than one solution to getting this camera working with the NVR. Thanks!

      If you have routers and NVRs in the same network they can act as DHCP server that will give the devices an IP address. Make sure you manage that correctly to achieve what you want without having IP conflicts.

    Why when I don't have wifi I can't see the cameras with my cell phone?

    • @bestsecuritydevices
      @bestsecuritydevices  14 днів тому

      Because if you set up the local network with WiFi, your cellular will NOT be part as the same network if it’s connecting to via cellular data to the Internet. You need to have your cameras working with a cloud service to be able to access from any device connected to the Internet

      You need to have port forwarding setup in your router to have it working remotely.

      No monitor needed, you can use a mobile phone to watch the cameras.

      You can connect all of them at the same time to the NVR and it will give each one a different IP.

    Hello, thank you for the Video. I have a question for you. if I use a 8 Channel NVR can I only add 8 wifi cameras, since they are not plug directly into the NVR? I'm looking into getting a system and need to decide if I should pay more for the 16 channel NVR. Thanks

    • @bestsecuritydevices
      @bestsecuritydevices  Рік тому +2

      A 8-channel NVR can handle a total of 8 cameras, no matter if they are directly connected or not. The NVR processor, memory and interface are prepared to handle this number of cameras, you can't only consider the physical connections.

    Excellent Video, Is it safe to use the reolink camera in wifi mode for 24/7 recording? I wouldnt want to take the chance in case of wifi drop out. Would you use 2.4ghz or 5 ghz? and finally, could you use Bluer Iris NVR software to record the Wifi stream or would it have to be via a LAN or WAN..keep up the great content, subscribed ! 👍

    • @bestsecuritydevices
      @bestsecuritydevices  Рік тому +1

      It works pretty well with WiFi. I recommend use 5GHz since you will have less interference.

    • @bestsecuritydevices
      @bestsecuritydevices  Рік тому

      Yes, it's safe to run 24/7 (I run it myself) 5GHz to avoid interference, there are more channels available in this frequency so you can avoid your neighbors WiFi messing up your system. Blue Iris a software running on a PC. You can use it in a Local Area Network (LAN) to record the stream from the camera or if you need to record from a different location you can use a WAN. I just don't understand why you are asking "Use Blue Iris OR have it via LAN/WAN". I'm sorry, the question does not make sense.... Blue Iris or Reolink NVR are the recorders... LAN/WAN are networks. I hope it makes sense.

      Take a general look to see what can be done in yours. You can also check if there's a firmware update that will change the interface.

      i figured it out. it works only over hdmi cable and monitor directly connected to the nvr recorder. you can´t solve it over software.

    will the wifi video feeds saved in the camera sd card or into the NVR hard drive? Thanks.
