Super und Danke, erinnert an lange vergangene Zeiten, war meine tägliche Fahrt von Neuköllnische Heide nach Halensee als Lehrling bei VW Eduard Winter...Vielen Dank noch mal

Wieder, wie gewohnt bei Ihnen, ein super Video! Danke, dass ich mitfahren durfte, so kann ich etwas von Berlin sehen (sieht aber teilweise so aus, dass man gar nicht glauben, dass schon 2014 ist). Herzliche Grüße aus Österreich.

Bin ich dieses Jahr auch gefahren,allerdings von Gesundbrunnen nach Gesundbrunnen.Ist eine meiner lieblings S-bahnstrecken in Berlin geworden ;)

Am Anfang wo der Zug losfährt, ist in dem Gleis noch so ein kleines Extra Gleis, was bedeutet sowas ?
Falls der Zug entgleist halten diese "Extra Schienen" den Zug auf, damit der Zug nicht von der Brücke fällt.

Merkwürdig: Ertönt nicht ein Laut statt "Sifa"? Ist ja ziemlich penetrant...Da lob ich mir doch den alten Totmannhebel
Was bedeutet immer dieses "Zifa" oder was die Stimme auch immer sagt?
Sifa ist die Sicherheitsfahrschaltung die der Triebfahrzeugführer regelmäßig betätigen muss (entweder eine Taste oder ein Pedal) Tut er das nicht, kommt es zu einer Zwangsbremsung.

Didn't this line run in and out of East Berlin? Parts were in East Berlin and West Berlin?
Yes, it is a circle. The start is Ostkreuz (east), from Sonnenallee its former Westberlin. It chances again behind Gesundbrunnen.
During the years of the Wall the Loop/ Ring wasn't used as a loop. When the Wall was built, most of the lines crossings the Soviet and the Allied Sectors were cut physicly. One exception being the connection at Friedrichstraße on the Central 'Stadtbahn', which effectively served as a border checkpoint. Trains on the Stadtbahn would oscillate between East and West, with the drivers being swapped at Friedrichstraße. The other exception was part of North-South Tunnel, where the West Berlin lines crossed East Berlin territory underground. All the stations in that territory, weren't stopped at and the platforms constantly guarded by East German Border Police . These became eerie 'Ghost Stations'.
As a result of the agreements after WW2 the West Berlin S-Bahn Network was operated by the East German DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn). Once the Wall was built in 1961 most West Berliners refrained from using the S-Bahn, in an effort to not support the East German Government. A popular political slogan was, that using the S-Bahn would 'pay the barbwire for Ulbrichts Wall.' In 1983 negotiations led to the West Berlin S-Bahn Operations being transfered from DR to the West Berlin BVG (Berliner Verkehrs Gesellschaft). They reintegrated the orphaned West Berlin S-Bahn network back into their public transport concept (they already operated the metro and bus lines). This led to the revitalisation of dilapitated stations and the introduction of new rolling stock. Most of the stock until then was still from the 1920/30 ies, albeit with technical overhauls and extensive repairs.
So only after the fall of the Wall the loop was closed again by reestablishing the missing links.

Das liegt an den LED Lampen die in den Signalen sind. Diese gehen immer an und aus. Für uns Menschen geht das so schnell, dass wir es gar nicht mitkriegen. Die Kamera nimmt manchmal mehrere Bild auf, wenn diese LED Lampen aus sind.
Das sind keine LED-Lampen. Beim Blinken z.B Fahrt mit 40 erwarten gibt es eine Nachbrennphase und der Grünton ist fast weiß. Bei LED-Lampen hingegen sind die Lichtwechsel aprupt und der Grünton ist ziemlich grell. Vergleiche mal eine ältere Verkehrsampel und eine neue mit LED-Lampen.

You have an efficient and effective public transit system, but I have to say that these S-bahn trains are not attractive. The boxy style may create good usable space, and the colors may be distinctive, but in a beauty contest for trains they'll never win!
