I hope you find that useful! Just so you know, ArmSoar may collect a small share of sales from the Amazon links on this page. It does not increase your price but helps us keep making good content!
Do you like classic blades or T-blades more?
Classic all the way.
@@IvanMacKenzie you are a man of culture
Thanks for these uploads. Really helpful for us guys who are new to modern DLG.
Happy to help!
Keep this series going, Thomas. Eventually, each build step will be covered. It's great to actually see someone do the work, rather than read about it.
We’re working on complete build videos for the Deviant :D
good job
Nice Vid Thomas. Saw a couple of neat tricks that I will incorporate into my building. Vacuum and bent wire trick,,,very kool.
Cheers and have fun!
very neat install Loving your tutorial videos, helping me a lot.
Great video demystifying the blade install.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice
😂 your timing on this video is perfect. Another good video for a newb like me, thank you.
Do you make the hole slightly larger so the glue can seep in, or does the glue sit on the top skin like a fine fillet weld?
You want the hole to fit as tightly as possible, superthin CA will wick into the tiniest cracks to glue the blade to the wingtip. This lets you transfer the load directly to the wing. Then build up the fillet after.
@@ArmSoar thanks Thomas, thumbs up for the links to products too.
Awww...I just ran into this video while waiting for the glue to dry on my Deviant blade installation. I think did ok. 😅
I'm sure it came out nice!
I assume you put filler on both the top on bottom of the wing? Didn’t hear you mention to do the same to the bottom
Yes that's right!
Are you adding counter weight to the opposite wing tip?
Some pilots do but I don't (unless it's a big difference in weight... like 3..4.. grams or more)
incorporate the blades into the wing design so that they improve aerodynamics as winglets?
There’s been attempts but the results haven’t been good. Maybe we’ll see it again in the future?
@@ArmSoar not good enough to justify the labor? or actually worse than simple blades?
are there pictures online? i've searched but haven't found anything
Newbie question what's the stuff you mix in with the epoxy instead of micro balloons? I googled carbon toe and could find anything?
Carbon tow (not toe!). For example: www.easycomposites.co.uk/carbon-fibre-tow Thomas is suggesting cutting these long carbon fibres into tiny lengths and mixing them into the epoxy. Another alternative to the epoxy on the fillet is this rubber toughened CA: www.bsi-inc.co.uk/ic-2000tm-rubber-toughened-ca-1-2oz.html
Correct! Also called carbon roving in some places.
Tough/rubberized CA is awesome :D
Por favor en que pagina puedo adquirir un DLG?
Hi, talk about how to install pullsptring system..
Next tutorial :)
Oooooooooo yeeeeeeeee 🤘
Now make a tutorial on how to install the control line first on the rudder and elevator prior to installing into the servo horn 🤣
Next video ;)
