    What are other common mistakes you see on a beginner model?

    I like your " L " bend, CA glue, push rod stopper method. Never heard of that before. Going to tinker with it to see how well it works.

    Very helpful! Another way to do is let say you need +15, -85deg, I center the flap at -35deg, in Frsky fine tuning with the servo center in outputs, I then use a mixer line with the fonction MAX and offset 35deg. This way no sub trim required.

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому

      Great tip! That basically enters an offset value in the setup. I love how you can do things in so many different ways with OpenTX.

    Sorry, at 3:26 it should be up aileron, not up elevator.

    I’m new to gliders so have found your videos incredibly helpful. My DLG build had stalled for this very setup issue.
    Thanks so much. 👍

    Can I put an order in for a basic how to catch thermals video. The simple things and what to look for.

    Another awesome video! Thanks Thomas!
    I'd love a video of how to install the deviant throw blade and control horn instillation. If you have time lol just so I don't mess it up when my deviant arrives 😉

    Inspiring approach. Have I got it correctly that you never use your flaperons in upper position? (spoilerons?) The offsetting would limit that option.

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  Рік тому

      Yup! Flaperons are not used as Spoilerons. The only up deflection is meant for aileron use.

  • @IllFlyIt
    @IllFlyIt 3 роки тому +1

    2:58 when you set them to neutral do you use sub trim to set 0° deflection? I did this with mine and I think my sub trim value is 450ish which is the max value.

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому

      Combo of sub trim and camber systems.

    Do you need to check differential after applying the mechanical offset? I think when you mechanically offset there may be some differential even though your radio is set at neutral.

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому

      Yes there will be differential with the offset. I use differential to bring them back to 0% (real world, not radio value) before trimming the model.

    Could you help me with a problem i am facing right now? I am setting up my cfk alien dlg. It has a rudder and and ailerons, which also work as an elevator. Im trying to program flight phases on digital switches - which works for elevator. Phase "Start" which some elevator up - and some right angle for rudder (to neutralize the tendency for going left right after start).
    How do i access the rudder function to a digital switch? Is it via the "mixing" function of the TX? I am using a Spektrum DX6e...

    Hi all,
    I am trying to set up my 1m Hawk DLG.
    NX8 - spektrum receiver
    I have set up my flight modes in Camber Preset.
    Is this correct:
    Cruise mode 0mm with 6mm up and travel of the aliron when I move the stick and 5mm down.
    Thermal 1 - 2mm down this then reduces the up travel of the aliron to only 4mm and means the down throw become 7mm
    Thermal 2 - 4 mm down this reduces up throw to 2mm and down becomes 9mm
    Is this correct? The camber preset moves the aliron function down.
    Should the aliron throw be 6mm up and 5mm down regardless of what flight mode I’m in?
    Cruise 0mm
    Thermal 1 - 2mm down
    Thermal 2 - 4mm down

    Did you cut your servo wires to make everything more neat in the plane’s nose?

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому

      Not always but mostly yes. This one was shortened.

      @@ArmSoar thought it looked too clean in there! One more question: can this be done with the radio and not a servo tester?

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому

      Yes but I prefer a servo tester since a radio might have different values set up (travel, etc) that affects it even on a ‘clean’ install. Best to use a servo tester that shows the signal/positioning.

    If anybody can direct me to sub-trimming from a Frsky radio with OpenTX, that would be great. OTX can be a bit of a different world when it comes to programming traditionally.

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  3 роки тому +1

      You can go into the output menu and sub trim there.
