I've learned how to batch videos saves so much time with setting everything up once for 3-4 videos. It usually takes me as long to set up as it does too shoot 4 videos. My videos are quick and too the point, I used to have hours of editing. I switched from Movavi editing to PowerDirector to edit my videos. Thanks xoxo Sandy DIY
It's funny that I use this exact progress and organically progressed in the first year of learning video editing! I use DVR. Thanks for the great video!
I use DaVinci Resolve. It is free and has more up its sleeve than I could ever learn to use :D
Use OpenShot video edictor
A trick that I use to make editing easier is I clap at the end of takes to know what's good or not. 1 clap means bad, 2 claps means perfect, 3 means good until towards the end. I just look for the spikes in the audio track. I can edit videos without even listening to them using this method.

This video has a wrong title. It didn't really give a detailed instruction for beginners in editing a videotape. It gave a nice clear 5 steps that covers the whole process ... but the actual doing is totally overlooked! Beginners do need detailed steps.

Love the small and simple stuff, super easy on how to edit video for those just starting out. I found "trimming down the fluff" to be way easier now a days. I will either make my own B roll or use Canva for a graphic B roll footage. For music I use Epidemic Sound which I do find it worth the cost. Great video Think Media!

Is there a specific program you use to edit? Or when you upload does the computer automatically take you to a editing program?

Such a good video. My audio always seems a bit off to me and I picked a good quality mic. Will need to spend sometime learning audio sweetening in post. Keep pushing on everyone. Always strive to learn, improve, and be the best you you can be!

I'd say there is no backwards and forwards in editing. Time is already standing still. All there is to do is review the footage, no matter which end you start from. It's already standing still for you. Just start with whatever method seems to work best for you, so you get done what you're trying to get done.

Awesome video! I'm super excited to attend your master class. Quick question: Do you have any recommendations for those who live in rural areas as far as uploading? My internet is super slow here. I have a nice camera that shoots up to 4k, but I can't really upload anything. It took me over a week to upload a 30 second intro video in 4k and 24 hours to upload a five-minute video in 480p. Lately I've been doing live videos on my 720p webcam, but I'd love to upgrade the quality of my videos.
Hello Lin. Can you confirm that these uploads are for UA-cam only? As it depends on the bit rate you are using and the appropriate dimensions you are exporting your videos into.
I.e H264 encoding and bit rates ranging from 1000kbs to 20000 KBS.

I love the Edit, Where the magic happens! Before the edit it’s just a bunch of clips on a SD card. I’d say take your time and really treat it like a movie, nail the start, middle and end step by step.

They use Final Cut and premier depending on who’s talking, I’m a Final Cut user and will be til I die.

Is there a specific picture profile you use on Sony cameras so you don't have to do much color correcting/grading (other than the little things you already mentioned) for those of us editing on mobile or web based video editors? I see a lot of videos on how to apply luts and color grade in programs like premiere or final cut, but that won't work on the apps I use.
Natural light always helps with image colour and grading. If you can, use windows / natural lighting to help with your camera.
Also, depending on what FPS your using, can manage graining. High FPS is only used for fast movements such as sports / birds etc.
The other aspects are then to do with with focal points and aperture.
You can adjust these manually via settings and looking for "fn" button.
I recommend you read up on this to get the result your after. Aperture.

For computers? best = adobe premiere pro
best free = divinci resolve
